Glad some have actually mentioned the game this weekend.  I think RPI will have trouble scoring against Wesley and think this game will end up like the Hobart?/RPI game, somewhere in the 31 - 10 range.  I look forward to seeing RPI since I have never seen them play before, nice to see new teams.  The Ithaca/Salisbury game also should be a good one.  I think there may be some points scored in that one.  Both teams are only a few plays away from being in the playoffs.

I t

Obviously I hope RPI can give Wesley a game. While I like RPI's team and, as mentioned on the playoff previews, the Program's trajectory, Wesley has been in another tier for a while and this year doesn't seem much different. Framingham played a tough half w/ them a few years back and I think that would be a good confidence builder going into next year and might actually surprise some people. And I hope i'm entirely wrong here, but I think Wesley, Brockport and DVC are at another level in this quadrant of the bracket and outside of those H2H games, the scores could be inflated.

That said, I think, since it's an 'East' bracket, RPI got a raw deal. Because of Husson being in Antarctica, Springfield and Husson both got a more favorable draw based on location. Realistically, the 'seeding' should have been:

1. DVC
2. Brockport
3. Wesley
4. Springfield
5. RPI
6. WNEC
7. Plymouth
8. Husson

An RPI @ Springfield game with the winner getting DVC would have made much more sense in an ideal world, but as we all know, d3 football is not ideal and doesn't always make a ton of logical sense, just financial sense. Husson has afforded playoff wins to MIT and WNEC in recent years and because of that, no matter where they match up nationally, they will have a chance to win a playoff game every year unless they get shipped out which is usually saved for the south and west coast. And one lucky New England team also gets a great shot for a playoff win. Most lower level playoff caliber teams don't have such a chance to win each year. Husson and Plymouth probably come in at 31 and 32 in the field and one has a legit shot to win.

Don't know about Wesley, Frostburg, or anyone else in the NJAC or MAC.  Very little crossover with these leagues except with each other for that one open date.  Just by looking at scores, Del Val appears to be the top dog and then Frosty and Wesley Snipes come in a close second.

Wesleydad always has a cool head and seems to have a good grasp on who is good and who isn't.  I think he has mentioned he has not seen a lot of live games this year, so I would be interested in hearing his take.

The 1 - 8 looks ok.  I think Del Val, Brockport, and Wesley are well above the other 5.  Frostburg has dropped off a bit in the overall game since the loss to Wesley.  They have started struggling to score.  I did not see many games live but watched a boat load of them online.  I like Springfield and they will not be an easy game for anyone who plays them.  WNEC has shown they can compete in the playoffs.  Husson and Plymouth are nice teams, but do not challenge the others.  Wesley played a horrible first half against Del Val and trailed 22 - 7.  Got the game close, but mistakes ended any chance.  The defense shut down Del Val most of the game, 9 points were from non-offensive scores, int return and a safety.  Wesley moved the ball, but did not score.  Both teams are better now than they were in game one.  If I had to pick a winner right now I would take Wesley.  The X factor to me is the injuries at Brockport.  If Germanario can not go, they are average.  If the running back is not able to play, they are a good defense that will struggle to score against either Del Val or Wesley.  I believe these 3 teams, if Brockport is healthy would be a good game in the quarters for anyone in the country.  The winner of this bracket should not be a pushover for the winner of the UHMB bracket.

I don't think Frostburg drop off, I just think that matchups towards the end of the season was the difference. They scored 62 and 35 respectively on both Montclair and Southern Va then played two tough defensive teams in Kean and Salisbury, who both only give up less than 16 points per game. There offense is just very balance and basic. They don't have the big playmakers at receiver like Wesley, but can mixed it up when necessary. However, there defense as Keith mentioned could carry them into the quarters. I think Frostburg defense and Kean was the best defensive teams we played all season.

Good luck to RPI tomorrow....it is a tall task...but the defense needs to disrupt the Wolverines  run game, force them to pass and get 2-3 Int's and shorten the game on offense with 4 yards and a cloud of dust with a couple of well timed throws.......and you have a chance .....do not be intimidated by their athletes  speed , skill and love for human collisions......Engineers win with calculated  discipline( and a few undetected holds)..., ;D

It took this quote above, from a Union fan, which is quite comical in it's own right, to get a long lost LLPP member off the bench and back in the game?

Way to go dlip!

Who is next? Union89? 'gro? HALLADAWG!?!

I see Kevin DeWall has been dismissed as HC at Endicott. Didn't he used to be OC at Hobart ? Would they hire him back ?

The only way I see a change at OC at Hobart is if the current OC (Drach) leaves to take a head coaching job somewhere else.  Drach had full control of all aspects of the offense this past year.

I have no comment on Kevin DeWall but I did read on two other boards that Union OC Ben Martin has been mentioned to replace both the Endicott HC and an opening at Colby. He has ties to both schools. Ben has done an excellent job at Union in his short time here. It would be tough to lose him but he deserves an opportunity.

Would think that Drach and DeWall would both be guys that U of R would take a serious look at.

Who knows if either is interested in them, but Rochester would be crazy to not look in that direction.

I hope you clog your toilet and you can't find the plunger in time.

I wish RPI all the best but Wesley might just have to much speed and playoff experience. If RPI plays mistake free football and keeps the score within 14 pts I would be impressed.

Brockport should roll by 31 as I think they are a complete championship caliber team.

NYS bowl looks good on paper but both teams coming off devastating rivalry losses makes me think one of them is looking forward to Thanksgiving break. Hoping Union shows up as I hate Cortland.

Alfred vs Stevenson should be a good one, Saxons by 9 pts

If the Salisbury db can cover Gladney and Vito IC loses big. If we can air it out we win as the option offense can't keep up. GO BOMBERS!!!!!

wesleydad

Nice first drive for RPI. As usual Wesley defense looks lost early.

wesleydad

Nice offensive gameplay for RPI. 10-10.

Cortland up 21-7 midway through the second..  Union D can't tackle and has no answer for Ferraro's mobility.  After scoring in the open two minutes, Union's offense has gone anemic.  Could get ugly.
