Good luck to Brandon Shed in Minnesota at the Vikings rookie minicamp this weekend.

Biting my lip about recent post on NESCAC board, comparing NESCAC football to LL/E8....hope I can make it through the day

Yeah oline, it's hard to not go balls out  on a post like that. However, dlip has found many of the posters to be quite cool over there and level headed. dlip does understand the pride that goes along with attending and/or having a child/relative attend a NESCAC school and compete in sports there. It really is a very prestigious conference. With that said that post was not at all based on any fact and really just a person throwing out his opinion, based mostly on pride (IDHO) and less on any facts. dlip tried to be civil and understand where the dude is coming from. dlip used to get fired up on here, and maybe still does once in a while but it's not worth it. He finds that there are many posters like bombers, Utah, and others who are so knowledgeable, fact based, and level headed that they tend to take care of those posts that seem well over the top. Hang in brother!

Well, I couldn't help myself when I read that pompous azz on the NESCAC board (PolarCat) and his comment about the kids at Mount Union working for the NESCAC kids someday. I went only half blast though.......not full blast. Pompous people need a reality check, before they are sucking dinner through a straw for 6-8 weeks when they pizz off the wrong person!!

To be fair, he is like the only one on that board who pulls the "your kid will work for my kid" stuff or kids at nescac schools work harder because the colleges are more demanding because of acceptance rates.  Sounds like an insecure person with low moral character, something that doesn't represent most Nescac grads.

+k Utah, beat dlip to it!
OK Dlip and Utah, I am very concerned about Union adding all these prospects. I know a few of them from the Westchester/Fairfield area and they are solid prospects. Good luck this year...but not too much, the LL should be another dogfight this year.....at least Hobart has an easy tuneup game against Brockport in week 1, all of those beastly BPort transfers will be too busy learning their playbook to be a factor  ::)

I like how they have the hudl highlights next to the name.  I looked at the kid from Maine they have figuring he would be some small time football player but the kid looked like a beast (fullback/LB)

Union announces 2018 football recruits.
After last year's recruiting class of 29 focused on o-linemen, qbs and defense, this year's crop is deep in running backs and receivers. The 39 members represent a impressive addition to roster building as it is the largest class in recent memory. If coach Behrman has found talent to rival last year where at least a dozen first years either started or saw significant prime playing time, the Dutchmen's future is solid and exciting.

IDHO this is really all Behrman. The guy is just doing his thing here in Shocktown and continues to inspire all those around him with his passion and rive for excellence. There is something about him that to dlip just makes you want to give the guy a hug. He's that likable and genuine. With that said dlip believes he also has the unique ability to be professional, appropriate, and a role model while inside having the competitive drive to **** down your throat and leave you for dead in order to get a W. The balance of it all is what makes him who he is.

dlip and father dlip are just so proud to be a Dutchmen fans. dlip believes the LL will be a dog fight for sure this season and is so looking forward to Union Football in 2018!

It continues to look like Union and Hobart will only play a 9 game schedule this season.  Attempts by myself and others to point out potential open week opponents have not been heeded and proved futile. A recent conversation with the Union AD in which I asked about a possible 10th game with Dean on their open date precipitated by Mt. Ida dropping football was met with a lack of awareness suggesting that they were not interested. Curious since a member of the Union coaching staff is a former Dean head coach. Apparently ADs and coaches don't read theses posts...who knew? :P  Dean has subsequently filled it's schedule with someone else.  For Union 9 games it is, with only 4 home games for the second straight season.  :-X

I have a feeling that teams with open schedules in the ECFC preferred a 9 game schedule than playing an LL opponent.  Unfortunately, one of Hobart's bye weeks falls on Homecoming weekend, there is some grumbling with the Hobart faithful.  On a positive note, Hobart is bringing in over 40 recruits, from FL, KY, NJ, PA, NY, MA, CA, CT.  Looks like some real size and speed for the O-line, several very fast receivers.  and some big hogs for the interior D Line.  Spring ball was a huge success.  It appears that DeWall has already won over the hearts and minds of the players.  115 days to kickoff!!

Heck, I say we play the Statesman v. Dutchman back to back weeks and fill the open date and the extra game goes as an OOC game...like Ernie Banks said, let's play two

I was in Geneva when they had the recruits on campus while they watched the last practice...... the recruits looked pretty impressive in their street clothes.....after seeing them, I am not as concerned about Union ...both schools have some great looking recruits....

Some of those new recruits will be pressed into duty pretty quickly as there are holes on the defensive side of the ball that need addressing. Statesmen had the worst pass D in the LL last season (based on YPG allowed) and second worst defensive pass eff, TDs allowed and total passing yards allowed. They'll need replacements for Ball at DE, Robak at NG, both ILB positions, and D'Antonio at CB.
