@Bill, weren't you one of the conspiracy theorists piggy backing on Frank's ridiculous claims that the Union Administration and their policies and 'financial aid' allotments made it impossible for the football program to succeed? Wasn't it all the AD's fault?  How is the new coach doing this against such odds? Are they just on a real luck streak? Are all of their opponents rolling over for reparations of recent years? Is he a wizard? Was there a complete change in Administrative policies? Or was Frank entirely full of sh!t and the rest of you bandwagon jumpers decided to grab your pitchforks, follow his crusade to the promise land, but suddenly hush up when you realized they just needed a regime change? Surely if Frank's claims were true, Union is  unfairly being robbed of Mt Union like potential. I'd like for you to continue your fight against the AD and Administration. Don't give up now because of a couple Ws. Don't lose your passion. Fight for what is right!!! Keep your eye on the ball.

I'm not sure he was one of those Audino backers, but he did say that Union "should have won the game" one year when Ithaca beat them.  Anyone who says something like that is always questionable in anything they say about the team they root for.  I kind of ignore anything someone says after saying something like that, especially in the game he was referencing.
OK boys. It's time for me to clarify some more things you've gotten wrong.. PA you're the one that first brought up finding a video of the alleged brawl. Everyone knows that but you.  ???
Mach, I believe I was among the first to call out Audino and lobby for a coaching change. Dlip and Frank could confirm that.
Utah, if you re-read my post of 9/9/16 you would see that Eagle322 made the statement that the "Union staff said Union should have won" that game. I merely agreed with them.
It's been a tough day for me but the best part is that due to your poor reading comprehension I've succeeded in riling up both Hobart and RPI guys.  ;D

The 97 game wasn't pretty earlier. A lot of whoofing to the stands from the players at the end of the game.

Wait I'm old that was 97.  In schenectadeck.  Close game, we lost and then we got jumped in the endzone.
Pumpkinhead...I'm not sure what you're rambling about. The '98 game was a 19-14 Hobart win in Schenectady. I AM sure that I WAS at that game and since my Dutchmen lost it was entirely forgettable...and who the hell is Rich Barlette? Provide a link to this footage. I'll gladly give it an look see.
I suspect you're stuck in the '90s because you're trying not to focus on the shortcomings of this year's Statesmen

Please burn those trash gray jerseys.

Also, I'm guessing Mach must be being sarcastic. Ithaca is now 2-3 all-time against RPI with their last win in the not-much-of-a-series coming in the 2001 playoffs. Something I had no idea until looking it up 3 minutes ago - today was the first time RPI has ever visited the South Hill.

I can totally see RPI becoming the new Fisher/Cortland in that we keep losing to these guys over and over and over again in increasingly nut-shot ways.

Back in Mayberry now after a dandy D3 double dipper...saw Hobart trip up Union, 29-28 at "The Boz" and then traveled west on US 20 and caught the Saxons roll to a 51-7 win at Buffalo State in the Bengals' first-ever game under the (new) lights at Coyer Field.

Pep,
+k for your D3 football Saturday.....sounds like a long day, but glad you capped it off with a tune up for the eventual battle with Brockport. Happy you caught the game at the Boz, it was a great game with a happy ending for the Statesmen. I am still hoping for a future  Alfred-Hobart game . Good luck to the Saxons! Warriors

+K back at ya...
Pep's Play of the Game (and there were certainly more) at the Boz: Ross dropping pass in end zone early in fourth quarter...would have given Union a 35-22 lead at the time and averted some of the late game drama.

Pep, I think the Hobart db got a hand on it to help Ross drop the ball, but Ross sure had his opportunity . He reminds me of Brandon Shed quite a bit and should be a real pain the next three years.

So, I think I lost to Mach this week(3-3 vs 3-2 even after my homer revision ) since he picked RPI and I thought IC would protect Butterfield.  Frankly after the Hobart win I don't really care about losing to Mach, the relief of not having the pumpkin disemboweled followed by the pride of hearing the boys sing "Hip Hobart" after the win is satisfaction enough.
Reflecting on the big games and the LL race, I was surprised to look at the box for the IC-RPI game and see a 3:1 advantage in yardage for the Bombers but a 10-9 loss. So both these teams have legit defenses, but RPI was more rubber band like while the Bombers D looks nasty. Congrats to RPI for grinding out this win, but this game by no means eliminates the Bombers from the title race.
The game at the Boz was pretty intense as it was clear the Dutchmen were the favorite and the Statesmen had to prove themselves worthy of another title run. The weather was weird as rain ended before the game and the sun and Seneca Lake seagulls dominated the conditions. The Hobart coaching staff deserves kudos as  they obviously prepared and inspired the much maligned defense . Although Andre Ross Jr. is clearly a talent and Union has a solid offense, Bellamy struggled at times passing and the Hobart DBs seemed to make critical plays when a catch could have swung the game in the Duchies favor. On the Hobart offense, the Oline continues to mature and if Harvey did not re-injure himself, I think he would have had a 100+ day. This forced Hobart to emphasize the pass and except for one INT by Hofmann, I think he won the QB comparison with Bellamy while Hobart receivers showed their talent. So ,last year Union messed up Hobart's season, but this year, Union still has a shot and Hobart can only say they have won one of five LL games. It still feels good though.
As far as the rest of the season, it is now a four team race(sorry Saints, not seeing your inclusion). Although Ithaca and Union now have a loss, I am predicting that an undefeated LL winner is unlikely . RPI and its defensive centric team will not likely shut down both the Union and Hobart offenses and Hobart has a tall order to beat both RPI and Ithaca. Also, the Saints may improve in time for an unexpected upset. At this point in the season I am forecasting a tie for the LL title, so get those tie breaker rules out. This will continue to be a great LL season.

Ok Bartman, so it would be unfair of me not to give you the benefit of the doubt of a full fledged breakdown of this week's picks so here goes:

Record:
Mach - 3-0
Bartman - 2-1 (with a late edit to Hobart that i'll accept - Could have been 1-2 though...just sayin...)
Winner:  Mach

Actual Point Differential:
Mach - 66
Bartman - 55
Winner:  Bartman

Point Spread Differential:
Mach: 21
Bartman: 7
Winner:  Bartman
You nailed the point spread of SLU/Rochacha and missed by 2 on the Union/Bart game. Not too shabby.

That said, I think it's only fair that the point diff. and spread diff. matter if we tie the predictions. If you want to celebrate as a 'tie' or something that's cool. But i'll take 3-0 either way.

As an aside, I'll try and get some predictions out for next week if I can, but I'll be out of the country so my statistical analysis will not be available until the week of RPI/Hobart.

From your mouth to gods ears Bartman.  I'll still have Hobart gear on in two weeks talking to myself about how much Union sucks balls.  Every year is a year to avenge the cheap shottimg, head stomping dudes stuck on the ground dudes on the 1998 Dutch team(anyone remember Rich barlette, watch the post game video from 1998).

PA...nice try but you missed it by a day.  ::)...quite fond of these emojis

Mach,
Picking the games is the contest, point spreads should be a tie breaker. You win this week, but I am impressed with your auditing skills. If they let you back in the country, we may need a full season accounting.

So like players have Sunday practices where the basically fall asleep in video sessions and throw up while running.  Hats what I was referring to.  If you think as a 40yr old with the
Mow small children living in Atlanta and working 65-75hr weeks and traveling to chase it down your even more insane than I thought big fan.

Your still a front runner, can see it by your first half comments on the in game and mo so subtle shots at our announcer who's done more to elevate HWS athletics than you have for Union.  I've given money, given up summer internships because we had trimesters and then preseason and time for over 20yrs.

Keep on front running, attempting to take snot so subtle petulant shots and being a general fool.  I thought the RPI people talked ish because of the rivalry, but the whine going as that's clearly your contribution to that program (who had a relative of the head coach and a frank Rossi as announcing games and your complaining about a professional broadcaster, as in paid by a third party entity for years rather than starting their own shop).  Maybe yo want to cry because I am anonymous, clearly lacking understanding of how these things have been working for decades now.

It's always. someone.  Want actually superman, he was ok, it was true JV soccer guy who changed his name a couple of times, RedSwarm, Frank.  Miss the days of Jose and the colored hats, Garnet, Gro, Lee (though I still think he's proving tupcac is still alive in these boards), even dewcrew.  Trash talking was out of fun and people had lives outside of this.  Now it's people who define themselves by this.  That's why ITH, Dlip, and others have dropped off at times.   I did for a couple of years during the Hobart run where no one was such a douchy baby as were seeing from a weak 4-0 start out of Union.  (Sorry dlip, realize i hit all Union fans with this knowing your the exception to the apparent rule)

Speaking of Brandon Shed, he announced yesterday he has signed with the San Antonio Commanders of the AAF.

Really happy for him that his dream of pursuing professional football has been realized. Hope it leads to bigger and better things for him.

Just throwing this out there to the IC fans, and anyone who watched the game on Sat.  This IC offense appears to be built for speed/passing, with the mobile QB in Nabi and the downfield speed of Gladney.  Swanstrom comes from Penn, a team built around the passing game. Is it possible that they are losing home field advantage?  Butterfield is not a fast track by any means, the sloppy thick grass and huge crown midfield works great to slow down opposing high powered offenses, but can also hinder the home team.
