Introducing Alfred Special Teams Coach Bob Margeson.

How have we not heard of this guy yet?

He may now be DB's new man crush (replacing the aging Chris Sharpe) and would also be an excellent entry into any local or national Movember competition. **** Utah, now DB will be obsessing about taking off the beard in light of the handlebar.

It looks like this guy took those neck bridge exercises very seriously.  :o

Still three weeks left in the LL regular season, but it looks like an Engineers victory march to the NCAA berth. They will have to lose 2 of the final 3 games to not make the tournament. While Union should be well contested, it would be surprising to see either U of R or SLU gather the strength for an upset.... so congratulations to RPI for their success to date. As far as picks this week, there are only 2 games. Bartman was 2-1 last week and 27-6 on the season( glad there are no point spreads).

RPI            45(42)             Rochester                 10 (0)           RPI's roster will be fully utilized( a couple of defensive stops early by YJackets, but 100 yards of O)

Ithaca        35(28)             SLU                           14(6)           the Saints have some early success in the air but the Bombers stiffen(Bombers do what they have to to win)

The following week we have an Ithaca-Hobart game at the Boz that could have greater meaning if the Saints can dig deep and upset the Engineers that weekend( a man can dream can't he?)

Well, a difficult 2-0 record last week, not far off on the point spreads( 29-6 on the season). This week:

Union            42             Rochester         7         Dutchmen tuning up for the Shoes game

RPI               31             SLU                21         The bend-but-don't-break RPI defense breaks 3 times, but it is not enough as the Engineers are back to back LL Champs

Ithaca           21             Hobart           24          OK, it's a self admitted homer pick, but Hobart plays it's best on the Boz as they pass for 300 yrds against the elite IC defense

One more week left, but RPI moves on to the NCAAs after eeking out a Shoes victory for an undefeated regular season,  Hobart will travel to the E8 host for the NY Bowl and the Bombers will play Wesley in an ECAC contest after shutting down Cortland in the Cortaca Jug...the Liberty League will show well in the post season when RPI beats up on one of Mach's favorite NE teams and the Bombers and the Statesmen both win in post season..Union would have won if they signed up for the ECAC....Go LL

Nothing like a little Tears for Fears to get the week started.  (go to 1:07 if you want to see one of the LL plays of the year, still not sure if this was the dumbest throw I have ever seen, or the smartest)

I was considering including it in our clip package this week, but I share the "I can't really explain if that was the best idea" question.  So instead, I called out Brockport for their narrow win at Utica -- and now have a restraining order in and around Rochester issued against me.  ;D

I certainly hope 7-2 Union declares for the ECAC's this season.  I've sent an email to Union AD Jim McLaughlin with a gentle reminder to get 'er done.

The weather could be a factor for a full slate of games today in the LL. The headliner is Ithaca at Hobart. St. Lawrence is at RPI and Rochester is at Union.  I of course will be at Frank Bailey field to see what the Dutchmen bring on this wet, windy afternoon. If the winds gust 40-50 mph as some forecasts predict the game should be all about the ground game.  Look for Ike Irabor to shine in what will probably be a quick 2:45 minute game. Union 27-7.

Love the Hobart video feed and crew.  Very crisp, good angles and a high quality video.

Congratulations to the RPI Engineers for winning the 2018 LL title . The had to earn it against a feisty SLU squad.

Congratulations also to the Ithaca Bombers on their 10-3 win over Hobart today. Both defenses came to play and Ithaca's hung on in the second half. Hobart had a couple of tough calls against them, but no complaints as the Bombers deserved the win. Hobart has a young team and this loss as well as the RPI loss will motivate them to improve next year. With the steady improvement in a young defense over the season(McCarthy was the best defensive player on the field today, IMO,  and Leake did a great job covering Gladney), as well as the young offensive line , the development of Hofmann and Krewson at QB , the quality improvement at WR and  the return of Dakota Harvey next year will all add to optimism for next year

Other than the 2-3 times it went completely black, I agree. One of their best feeds in a while. Speaking of feeds, Stretch set back D3FB about 15 years yesterday.

This was a hack of the Stretch system, IMO, I don't think it was a capacity issue. Obviously by D1 football networks to crush the growing popularity of D3 Football.🤔

I wouldn't put too much stock in Harvey for next year as I believe he is no longer on the team.

There is a long story behind Harvey.  He is still in school, he was at the game.  Hopefully, he and the coaches can figure everything out.  He is a good kid, unbelievable talent (would have been an MVP candidate if he could have been on the field). He really has a chance to be successful on and off the field.  I hope it all works out for him, school and student athlete would both benefit.

Last week's prediction recap, and Final regular season week pics:

Well, a difficult 2-0 record last week, not far off on the point spreads( 29-6 on the season). Last week:

Union            42(35)       Rochester     7(14)         Dutchmen tuning up for the Shoes game. Shoes tune Up

RPI               31(27)       SLU             21(20)         The bend-but-don't-break RPI defense breaks 3 times, but it is not enough as the Engineers are back to back LL Champs. Pretty Close

Ithaca           21(10)       Hobart           24(3)          OK, it's a self admitted homer pick, but Hobart plays it's best on the Boz as they pass for 300 yrds against the elite IC defense. OH well, next year

So 2-1 last week with homer Hobart pick, now 31-7 on season. this weekend :

Hobart         34               SLU              20                             Hobart playing Cortland next week?

Union          24               RPI              21                              I am now thinking  Dutchmen seniors  play for pride and end the Engineers dream of an undefeated season

Ithaca         20               Cortland       17                              Ithaca wins Cortaca.....small chance to squeak into the Dance as Pool C,

Rochester  14               Alfred            21                             Yellowjackets come up short

I am hoping that 2 LL teams get into NCAA and win first game and Hobart beats Cortland  to show LL strength.... I think the LL is better than we get credit for.
