RPI looks like it's bringing in a big class. Union hasn't really publicized much recruiting news yet, but assume will soon. IC has also been low key with respect to new recruits, but guessing they're focused on spring practice and will get around to pushing out new player info later in the spring as I imagine most of their admits will come via regular decision.

By my "math" Hobart has "signed" about a dozen guys, the most recent commit being a 5A QB from Frisco, TX. He might be the first player from the state of TX the Statesmen have had in football, ever. At least, I can't recall anyone in the past 25 years coming to Geneva from the Lone Star state.

The majority of the other kids look like DBs and linemen, clearly an area of focus for DeWall and his staff. One of the players got a lot of local (Buffalo) press on his commitment to Hobart, as apparently he was a top prospect (was being recruited by FCS/PL schools), but time will tell if that'll convert well to the college game.

Union has been active recruiting the Eastern MA area.  Coach Trig was also active in MA in the late fall as well.  Union will do well in MA.  Bobby Johnson III from RPI also very active in Eastern MA and very vocal on social media.  Really good guy.

Just to add a little juice to the board....Hobart Football starts spring practices this weekend.
I'm debating whether or not to make the trip up state to watch the Rowan vs Hobart game in September.  My younger brother attended IC, I know it's a pretty area but long drive.
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

If you can make an entire wkd out of it, I'd say give it a go. The Finger Lakes area is booming and is now a national destination as far as wineries, craft brewing and other recreational activities. Southwest has cheap flights into Rochester on a daily basis. JetBlue goes to Syracuse but they are typically more premium fares. It's actually a lot cheaper to fly into Buffalo (not a bad place to visit either with the wings, Niagara Falls, etc). Geneva is about a 90 min ride from there.

We make the drive from PA regularly.  Very easy ride, not much traffic and nice scenary.  September is a great time to visit the Finger Lakes.

It sounds like a fun road trip and long weekend option. Hopefully I can make it happen.  Looking forward to the game either way!

Lots of interesting OOC games for the LL and E8 this year.  With the NJAC teams needing another game this year, it has opened up full 10 game schedules for the E8/LL

I went to the final Hobart Spring practice this past weekend.  All practices have been held in the new dome.  The team has taken full advantage of the new facility, rather than freezing their tails off at 530 AM in the Geneva darkness, they have been indoors running drills at full speed.  I am sure it has helped the skill position guys with timing of the offense, the defense was able to run full speed against the offense, and even special teams were able to practice kicks and punts.

This is IC's year. I know, I'm not exactly going out on a limb there, but based on what I've heard and seen, and my general faith in this staff.

I also just think it would be really awesome if Cortaca gets played on this massive national stage and involves teams making noise nationally. I'm not talking like, 1988-level. But maybe 2008 level.

We have some news re IC we plan to "break" via our April pod which we recorded over the wkd and a little later today. Hopefully it'll be "in the can" and ready for release mid-week.
