Ice Bear , thanks for the confidence in the Statesmen, and I'm sure it is not influenced by how this benefits the Dutchmen

Ice Bear says you're welcome as it's a combination of Ice's hatred of TPI, a stout Pumpkin defense, and things working in Union's favor.

Ice always has a deep respect for the Great Pumpkins and enjoys rooting for them. Ice Bear says go Bart!

Not after passing for close to 300 yds. I had a feeling RPI's secondary would be susceptible, but this performance was above and beyond. Hobart will still be heavy underdogs in IC next wkd. Defense and ST can play with the Bombers, but what offense will show up?

They'd have to beat RPI this wkd, and IC on the road which has never happened. While I'm hopeful, I'm also realistic about the chances of a team with an offense averaging 14.33 PPG since Wk 3 going 2-0 over that stretch.

I for one think Hobart will expose a young RPI o-line this weekend and hand out a solid drubbing this weekend.

Many thanks to the Pumpkins for making look like I knew what I was talking about.  That was a solid can of whoop*ss.

Buffalo State is not very good, especially their defense but #7 at WR may be the best player I've seen this year after Gladney.  Very fast and amazing hands.

Ice Bear, Union should have no problem beating RPI if the same union team that played Hobart shows up.

First 12 possessions by RPI:
        - 9 of 12 were 3 and out and one four and out
        - 6 punts
        - 1 turnover on DOWNS
        - 2 Interceptions
        - 1 fumble
        - 1 TD on a very short 10 yard field after Hobart fumble
        - 1 drive ended at half
        - 125 total yards of offense on first 12 possessions
After first 12 possessions score HOBART 38 RPI 7

Hobart first 12 possessions:
         6 0f 12 possessions resulted in a score
        - 5 TDs
        - 1 FG
        - 1 Missed FG
        - 2 Punts
        - 1 INT
        - 1 Fumble
        - 1 TO on Downs
        - 414 Yards of offense in these 12 possessions,Hobart totally dominated

The coaching staff of Hobart  prepared the team well today and the players mostly executed except on some long passes in the first half. The Statesmen had a major rebound after a devastating loss. I actually don't think RPI is that bad, it was more about Hobart being that good and totally fired up today. Also RPI field chatter was totally bush league and Hobart kept their composure and never took the bait and if anything, further fired them up. EXTREMELY proud of the team today and optimistic about our opportunity next week against the Bombers. This is a very good team , not deep and it got further banged up today, but it now has confidence and has heart to take the one hour drive down to Butterworth and pull off an historic win against the The Germ enhanced Bombers . Hobart defense is for real.  Don't let the final stats influence you, Bart played the third team defense for the entire 4th Q, RPI kept the starters in until the final play (weird, and at least one Engineer was injured during garbage time). The O had some bright spots, maybe Hoffman found his Mojo. The Germ and crew will have to play at their best for the whole game next week.  Game of the season for the Statesmen!!

I'm sure someone will chime in with the stock, thoughtless response that teams change over a season but how Brockport has 18pts in voting and Hobart has 11 is absurd.  Somehow Alfred has 7 and RPI and WPI are still getting some kind of vote or another?  Ithaca might be the best in the LL, gave up 35 to Fisher who a week later was shut out, Cortland was in a 1td game w MoVille more than halfway through the 4th, but the notion that IC is 9th and Union/Hobart are in the some consideration cohort is just flat out wrong.  That implies a massive gap.  Poll is getting worse by the year, may as well just stick w AFCA at this point.  Does this site even have 2018 results on team pages?

I don't want to hear about teams changing or drifting up, it's just blind voting by a bunch going on.  Certainly no brand value to this poll anymore, may have been true 5-10yrs ago, but the change in ESPN coverage indicates a lot...

Agree.  How Brockport can get more votes that Hobart is ridiculous.  Hobart won by 20+.  Please don't give us the first game of the season nonsense....IF IC is the #9 team in the nation, Union has got to be in top 25.

At least RPI is still getting votes. I don't know who that voter is, but he can stay in my room.

Ice Bear ****ing agrees...he tends to try and give the voters some slack but pa and oline hit this **** on the head as it has been getting worse.

Ice says dudes be just ****ing picking using the AFCA's scientific "enee menee minee mo," method. Who knows maybe IC and it's academic All-American student athlete whip Bart and U by like 50... it could happen? At least the conference ranking improved...thanks for the bone.
