I'm no Ithaca guy, but I am a-ok with their current situation. No qualms at all. Anyone who says they wouldn'twant be ok with something similar to happen to their team is lying. Flat out.

Ice Bear says this is a fair opinion Mach...but not fact by any means. Ice wouldn't want a super talented player like Germinerio for one season as a graduate transfer to displace Will Bellamy at Union...especially for just one year. If the kid made an academic commitment to Union for more than one year (meaning he had more than one season of eligibility left) Ice would be coo wit dat but for one season at the D3 level, no ****in way. Call Ice what you will but thats not what D3 FB is to him and that's the truth. At this level Ice would like to think that there is some semblance of loyalty and respect for a student athlete's hard work and commitment to a school...which they are also paying ****ing thousands of dollars to attend.

Ice's respect, right or wrong sits with Nabi and all the teammates and coaches Germinerio bolted on at Brockport. Again, just Ice's opinion and not that big of a deal but certainly worth discussion as this is about more than one kid.

Ice Bear says either way he can take it or leave it but will certainly share his opinion on here and have fun with a controversial choice related to academics and football.

Always E and I Mach.

He wouldn't go to Union for 2 reasons:

1. He probably couldn't get in, and
2. Their starting QB is a much different situation than Ithaca.

A few years ago you woulda welcomed him with open arms.

Nah  ;)

Just beat Union today and give the Saints a chance. Throw 5 TD passes and I think it's yours😀

Negative K to anyone who discussed the 2005 Ithaca/Union playoff game without mentioning that ridiculous kickoff that line drived off a Bomber face mask and ricocheted right back to Union.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

I think it's time for me to be done with this board. It's too fun of a season for IC to bother with some pearl clutching Union fan who wants to just whine and ***** about Germinerio (or out of shape refs, or whatever bee is in his bonnet)

Boy it seems like the Ithaca fans are restless. Maybe they're fearful of an upset today? I think they should be focusing on Hobart, not Union. First a guy who hasn't posted since 2013 chimes in with something about a game with Union in 2005  ??? I was at that game and any kickoff off a facemask (a vague recollection) had nothing to do with the Bombers inability to stop the Dutchmen that day and just who's discussing it anyway?....give me my -k

Now Bombers is getting thin skinned about Icebear's Joe G take. I have not previously commented on JG but as a point of position I would generally not be in favor my team bringing in any player, no matter how good he is, if the result in any way upset team chemistry. In fairness to the Ithaca people who allowed JG to happen, it has elevated their program both on the field and in the media so good, good. From what I have heard Joe's teammates, including Nabi, have welcomed him with open arms. Everyone likes a winner. ;)

Bombers in all seriousness, even out of the third person here, I'll let it go man. If you enjoy these boards (like I think you do) and I know all of us really appreciate and enjoy your knowledge, you should stay. If I've stepped over the line I apologize and will certainly let it go man. The last thing I want to do is to be an asshole and jeopardize the quality and enjoyment of the boards. My mistake taking it to far  and being to negative. It really is all meant in fun but certainly can get to be too much. I genuinely apologize. I for one hope you stay.

I just noticed the Bombers comment is from a guest to the board. Maybe an imposter or someone devious?

No, it means he retired. Coming from a guy who has quit the boards a few times, this one was a little soft. I didn't see the discussion being super terrible, insulting, or personal enough for that action.

My thoughts:

Ithaca is going to win by 21 points today.  I think they are probably 10/14 point favorites and I would pick them to cover.  That's my opinion on the few Hobart/IC games I've seen this year.

Joe G. issue there are two topics of discussion.  One is the team issue and whether or not Ithaca should allow him to be on the team.  On that issue I don't have any problem with him playing there.  He graduated from Brockport and from what I know about Ithaca graduate admissions for GAs and what I assume this situation is that Joe G. wouldn't have been able to get in without some some of academic resume.  If he simply transferred as an undergrad that might be more of an issue.  It is strange seeing a player who succeeds at a school transfer to a "rival" school.  I'm guessing Joe G. was recruited by Swanstrom at Penn or some camp situation and the two had a connection and Swanstrom had an offense built for the kid.

The issue on the boards of posters joking about student athletes is the other issue.  Some people are fine with it other aren't.  I don't care either way.

Carry on.

I guess if I don't care I'm on Ice Bears side.  Just doesn't bother me.  Like with that JCWClaw character got all bent out of shape because we didn't know about some kids family situation and why he transfered.  It's a ****ing message board for christ sake.  We have a poster named Ice Bear who talks in the third person, and a poster who was a fake Qb in a 1990 bank robbery movie, and another poster who has the handle of a Renaissance Italian philosopher.  I think I can get through my day without being offended by what is said here.

Listening to the Bart/Ithaca game and finding myself naturally routing for Hobart. It's weird, it's not because I love Hobart or dislike Ithaca, but I like pulling for the underdog and I like parity(and it's good for RPI). But then a part of me is like, 'if Hobart wins, this is why the East gets little respect nationally', meanwhile it's great for the East because it's so competitive and just shows how many good team there actually are. Then we have to once again wait until the playoffs when the East shows up and gets attention again. IMHO, the East is SO MUCH thicker and girthier and meatier from a competitive standpoint than any other region. It makes the best of the best a little below the best nationally, but most of those really good teams in the other regions play cupcake schedules every freaking year and get rewarded handsomely for it. The Wheatons and Berrys and Wartburgs and Chapmans of the world....Meh...Just meh...Cupcake city.

pumkinattack

This isn't a top ten team.  That should be evident, IC offense suddenly finds itself event he best defensive player on the field gets tossed.
