As much as I'd like to extend the TOP discussion, I think I will put out the final picks of the LL season:
(35-10 pick record, and LL is 16-11 in OOC games)

Hobart(Team DeWall)      48     Rochester(Team Martinovitch)         7         The battle of Hobart alum coaches is won by DeWall as the Yellowjackets future is in the hands of future recruits.

St Lawrence                   35      Buffalo State                                21         Grochot has another good game and the Larries end the season on a positive note. The Bengals show well and look to make noise in 2020.

Union                             38       RPI                                            24          The Shoes are worn by the Dutchmen as they come back from an early deficit as Bellamy and Irabor are cool under pressure and deliver an undefeated regular season(last one was 2005). From 0-10 to 10-0 in four years, impressive....now don't blow my pick ;D

Ithaca                            45        Cortland                                     38          The Germ starts and wins the game on a Vito TD in the final 2 minutes after throwing a pick six only minutes earlier. Nabi waits for next year .

           Union -NCAA
           Ithaca- ECAC Bowl home game
Hobart- NYS Megabowl -travel to Cortland or Alfred

Ice Bear says 35-10 is one hell of a ****ing record Manbart. Well done and +k.

Ice Bear says he's scared ****less of this game...****less. It's a good thing he'll miss it in person as he'll be in Jersey at his daughter's cheerleading competition dealing with ****ing bows n' ****...

JU, let me get this straight.  You were a Steelers fan for the 70s and 80s.  You then "became" a Pats fan in 2001.  Are you suddenly a long suffering Nats fan in 2019??  ;D

Ya hard to explain.  Remember watching my first Steelers game around 1982.  Loved them.  Rooted for them hard through college.  When the Brady/Bledsoe debate came out in 2001, I felt I had some extra knowledge based on what I saw in college in terms of how coaches evaluate talent.  So I rooted for Brady.  I honestly still rooted for the Steelers even in 2001 when the Patriots beat them and by this time I'm basically an adult and didn't "root" for teams like I did when I was a kid. Don't remember exactly when i switched over but I also missed out on two superbowl victories by the Steelers.  Never considered myself a bandwagoner but I also rooted for the pats in '85 and '96.  I feel nothing for the Steelers now.

Speaking of who to play...does Union rest some dinged up/injured key players in anticipation of the NCAA first round, or do they do whatever it takes to win The Shoes, and an undefeated regular season? My mind tells me one thing, but my heart tells me to go for the Shoes! RPI's convincing win over Ithica definitely put some juice back into a game that seemed to be a foregone conclusion just a week ago (although it also served to make sure that Union doesn't take this lightly, although that would be hard to believe given the nature of the rivalry).  I'll take the Dutchmen in a close one, 56-0.

It didn't quite work out that way for RPI last year, but losing could very well affect the quality of opponent Union gets next week.

Go for the win with everything you have.  An undefeated season means way more than a 1st or even 2nd round win in the playoffs!

Agreed. A Shoes win is much bigger than an NCAA win. I know as a player that's how I would think.

I don't disagree, but I don't 100% agree either. But a shoes win gives a better opportunity for an NCAA win for sure. While RPI's loss in the shoes last year stinks, the Brockport win 2 weeks later definitely overshadowed it and made it sting less.

I also think there is something a little extra special about going undefeated. It doesn't happen often and usually those teams stand out from the other successful years.

Ice Bear

Ice Bear can see it both ways. To IB, for this program right now, the obvious is that nothing would be better than an undefeated season, the Shoes trophy, and an NCAA win. As far as prioritizing between the two...Ice says **** it. Throw the kitchen sink at RPI on Saturday, throw it all at the game that is the longest football rivalry in the state of NY, go for the trophy and win over the hearts of your classmates (wait Union students support for sports is pure ****...**** them), go all in and move forward from there. One game at a time.

One thing that has impressed Ice the most about the Engineers is the way in which they bounced back from getting their asses handed to them at the end of last season by U. Honestly, from that point Ice thought they were ****ed no matter who they played in the tourney. That wasn't the case and the Engineers went on a very impressive post season run. If Union loses on Saturday Ice will be pulling for that scenario as opposed to what happened in 2006, which Ice is still ****ing devastated about. If Union wins on Saturday it will be a regular season finale to never forget.

To Ice, this team is as special as the early 80's Dutchmen whom Bagnoli brought out from oblivion. Behrman seems to be doing much of the same thing. Coach B is really starting something special here. The downfall of the Dutch was a ****ing long, slow, painful process that paralleled a decade long colonoscopy and root canal combined. To be in this position right now is over the moon. Hoping for the best on Saturday. Ice believes his Dutch have it in them.

I'm surprised Behrman has done so well with so many things stacked up against him, particularly the sabotage of the AD and Administration...

Too soon?

           Union -NCAA
           Ithaca- ECAC Bowl home game
Hobart- NYS Megabowl -travel to Cortland or Alfred

JU's picks of the week:

Hobart wins the TOP battle and cruises to a 35-0 victory.

SLU, despite losing the TOP battle in each quarter, miraculously finds a way to win this game, 28-13

Union controls the clock, racking up yards in the process and edges out RPI in the TOP department.  Union is able to limit RPIs newfound enthusiasm in recent weeks.  Union wins 24-10

Ithaca puts in Nabi and runs last years triple option offense that made them one of the nations leaders in TOP.  Ithaca dominates in TOP but loses for some reason 42-28.

Bonus game:  (Patriots/Eagles)

Bill Belichick starts rookie Jared Stidham at QB as it is clear Brady can't beat the eagles in big night games based on recent history.  Patriots lose the TOP battle but squeak out the win 28-20
