Still - if Bellamy had thrown even one of those 4-6 long balls well, the score would be very different.

What do I know.  Bellamy goes 9-11 and 146 yards and 2TDs in the 4th, and Union pulls out the crazy comeback.  Ballsy AF.

Ithaca gets stuffed on the goal line and loses 20-17 to W&J. I continue not to understand why we play these Who Cares Bowls put on by an ECAC that has long since failed to justify its own existence. The season couldn't have ended after the Jug win...why, exactly?

Same here - I was very happy last year that Union ended the year with the Shoes victory.  It's easy to overlook just how much work and focus and preparation it takes to get ready to play a good football team, and that's hard to muster for what are ultimately meaningless consolation games.  Pretty hit or miss.

Btw, how did Nabi manage to throw a single pass for a pick?  From the play by play it looked like Ithaca was driving deep, Joe G got an unsportsmanlike, and on the play Nabi throws a pick.  Did they literally pull him for one play because of the penalty?  Or helmet off?

Halftime adjustments...coach Behrman tightens up the Union D and Will Bellamy finally gives his receivers a chance and CWRU got left wondering, what happened?

The turning point in the game came with 7:13 to go in the 3rd when Union DE Vincent DiCaterino sacked CWRU QB Drew Saxton for a 10 yard loss. Saxton was hurt on the play and his backup came in and fumbled 2 plays later. A 14 yd pass Bellamy to Ross Jr. followed by a 17 yd TD to Griffin Beal and Union had life.  The inspired Union defense made a stop and the Union O then made it's longest drive of the season, 96 yards in 13 plays, to get within one score. Beal, the rock all season, caught 5 balls including the 16 yd TD with 10:30 left on the clock and a Union comeback was not only possible but probable. You could feel it in the stands, Union felt it on their sidelines and CWRU felt it too. Even with Saxton back in the game they did not respond.

A great win for the Union program now gives opportunity to meet the next challenge.

Congrats to Union on a huge comeback against CWRU, a quality team.

Hobart Defense excels and offense does enough well to beat Cortland 30-10. LL has great year against the E8. Statesmen finish strong as Boswell gets MVP with KO Return TD and over 200 yards of offense. NYS MEGABOWL is HUGE

Totally agree!  I think the only comeback today that was even more impressive was Central over UW-Oshkosh.

I think they wanted to give him one series in the 2nd quarter.  He threw a horrible pass on a short screen.  Joe G also threw some bad balls for ints.  Ithaca's oline or offensive scheme wasn't there this year versus the top teams.
