'Gro, what game did you watch?  The better team won?  Are you nuts?  Seattle mopped the field with those clowns.  The refs won the game for Pitt.  There wasn't 1 call in favor of Seattle.  Or one fan in the stands.  Or one break.  That pass interference call on the TD was crap.  Hasselbeck making a tackle after a pick tacked on 15 yards and turned into a TD.  They called a phantom hold on Seattle when they made a pass play to the 1.  It was ridiculous.
The refs wanted to give Bettis a retirement present.

Puppy Bowl II, why? was there another game on?

Yeah there were some bad calls, but a WR shouldn't push a DB in the end zone right in front of a trigger happy ref. the zebras were so worried about not making bad calls, that they ended up making bad calls, does that make sense?.

Stevens had 3 drops, #15 had a drop in the endzone (woulda been a tough catch but still hit him in the hands), Jackson caught the ball out of bounds had he known is position on the field he could of scored a TD.

Gro's opinoin, seattles woulda/couldas outweigh the crappy officiating. Where the heck was Ed "I'm too jacked up for this ref outfit" Hoculi?

Gro,
That was merely the "alternative halftime entertainment", in case you didn't want to watch Mick and the rest of the band play a Stones song nobody knew.

LD11,

Why is it that only you have such a problem with all these calls?.....they didn't blow the game for seattle.... they just lost

lewdogg11

Come on.  You guys are nuts.  The refs blew the game.  When EVERYONE at halftime says that 'push-off' was NOT a push-off, that says something.  Especially when the league was pulling for the Steelers.  Honestly, I don't care who won, cause I'm not a fan of either team.  If I wasn't hitting it on the head, EVERY sports network outside of PA wouldn't be talking about the officiating.

Kilted Rat

ESPN.com has a poll and 60% of voters say that officiating mistakes affected the outsome of the Super Bowl.

Found this pic over on the MIAC board.  Man those are some pretty BIG dixie cups!!

Apple Jack

AJ would have to agree with LD on the fact that the refs blew the game...

Being a fairly new bostonian, It might not be that big of a deal but I feel that I must share the fact that "The Butcher Boy" in North Andover has some of the best eats around.  AJ proceeded to buy tons of wings, ribs and steak tips and proceeded to gorge himself during yesterday's big game. He thinks he would have been disappointed with the game if there hadn't been the presence of such good food.

Who woudn't agree with LD11? He knows his stuff, we agree on many things --  like everything tastes better when wrapped in bacon. When Gro runs for president LD will be his campaign manager and cheif advisor.

If LD wants to read an article by Michael Smith agreeing with LD, LD should click here

Knightstalker

The Seahawks actually outplayed the Steelers overall in Knightstalkers opinion.  The Seahawks blew the game for themselves.  The refs made some bad calls, Stalker thought the offensive pass interference was the right call.  The tackle by Hasselback was bogus, he wasn't blocking he was tackling.  KS would also blame the Seattle play calling, Holmgreen blew it at the end of both halves.  The Hawks should have run that old Green Bay power sweep with Alexander that was picking up five or six yards a pop.  Alexander was having a very good day, he should have had closer to thirty carries instead of only twenty.  This game is why there should only one week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.

Is PP an addiction?

So JT is hanging out at the 'rents crib watching SB XL.  Teasing the nephew was fun BTW.  Not a bad kid, but JT calls uncle's priviledge.  JT's uncles used to tease JT far worse than what JT does to this kid on occasion.

Anyway, it seems JT had committed many of LD11's bets to memory after a quick glance on Saturday.  So after the coin toss JT says out loud to no one in particular "Well Lewdogg nailed that parlay."

With that JT get the What? look from everyone.  JT briefly explains PP and how some of us like to hang out and chat after the season is over.  JT then gets the look that JT gives the Trekkie and Star Wars dorks.  Not everyone can get the LLPP JT guesses.

JT's thoughts on SB XL:

Felt bad for Aaron Neville.  ****ty sound system, bad environment.  JT has seen the Neville Bros in New Orleans and last month in NJ.  The dude has an amazing one-of-kind voice.  He brought the house down with Amazing Grace at the end of the show last month.

F Terry Bradshaw for not doing the MVP thing

F Joe Montana for wanting a $100,000 guarenteed appearance fee for the MVP appearance.

RE: The Rolling Stones.... It just shows you how ****ty the music industry has become.  The industry just makes singles. They don't nurture/incubate groups, and they don't make albums where every cut is good.

When was the last super group born?  U2?  That was the 80's.

Seahawks:

Need better footwork by the Wr's and the TE needs more stickum.  Cost them the game in JT opinion.

Clock management... Ouch!  JT thought Herm Edwards invaded Holmgren's body at the half and end of the game.

Steelers:

Made the plays when they needed them.  Randle-El had the best pass of the game.

Refs:

Part of the NFL directive in 2005 was to call offensive pass interference.  The powers that be thought that it wasn't called enough.  That was offensive pass interference on the Seahawks.   The receiver gained an advantage by pushing off.

JT thought that Ben crossed the plane in the air and fell behind.  TD

Bad call on the Hasselbeck penalty after the int.

Bottom line:

JT took the Steelers at 3.5 and made some nice coin.

JT

Never go to Michael Irvin about a offense pass interference ruling.  He never met a DB that he didn't shove.  Too bad they didn't call it straight when he played.

Senor RedTackle

JT,

Nice analysis... RT agrees w/ you on your musings. In fact, a double bonus F to Montana....RT was always a huge fan...but $100K appearance fee? WTF???

Did anyone else notice how bit OJ Anderson has gotten? And doesn't Marcus Allen look smaller?? Also, what was up w/ John Riggins?...he looked like some cheeze game show host/wanna-be-ganster w/ that turtleneck/blazer combo.

Also, RT didn't realize that Staubach was so fashion UN-concious.....nice mismatching separates instead of the suit. And Jerry Rice? Does he still think it's 'Dancing With the Stars'

Is it RT or does anyone else think Holmgren and Craig Stadler are long lost twins??
