Man, hats off to Ithaca.  They come totally prepared and played to win.

If you told me Irabor would have 120 yards going into the fourth quarter, I would have thought we'd be sitting sweet.  But when your QB is 5 of 13 for 33 yards .... Good grief.

And down 23-0 with fourteen minutes remaining, Union comes out... with two runs.

Means nothing for either team in terms of the playoffs. Unfortunately it looks like Ithaca will need Union to beat RPI next week.  Either way it is always a good game.  Comparative scores it looks like Cortland is the best team in upstate NY.

RPI/SLU in overtime and I don't think the SLU kicker is able to make a FG over 10 yards.

Phone not cooperating. Update from Butterfield and SLU anybody?

OK, I was wrong. I was anticipating a game that mirrored the 2019 Union/Ithaca game and we got 2018. Hats off to Ithaca. I have no explanation for why Union's offense has become so one dimensional in the last few weeks. Only guesses...Injuries? The OC? Just not that good? All I can say is that I'm not happy.  :-X

Ithaca smoked Union 26-7

SLU down 7 in overtime and just converted a crazy hook and ladder to go inside the 5.

Yea Ithaca came off a sloppy loss last week and Union came off a sloppy win.  That always has an impact imo.  But again, Union's offense was shaky and no RPOs at all?  Even at the end they are down three scores and keep giving it to Ike who was clearly done.  I don't think Union's defense was horrible, they got pressure but Ithaca's QB made amazing plays on the run and threw off his back/side foot 50% of the time it seems.  Like the Hobart game they executed with impossible precision on a few plays that you don't like to call lucky but man guys were open and the QB floated the ball in the air a few times.

Nonsense. A 9-1 IC is a strong Pool C contender

Yea you might be right......

I'm still a Union fan this week though.

Disappointing finish but proud of the way this SLU team played today.  They've gone through a lot of adversity this season.

SLU should have run that sweet hook and ladder on the last drive in the 4th

Ice Bear

Ice Bear says congratulations to the Bombers on an excellent win this afternoon. IC dominated every facet of the game. IC QB is a total ****ing playmaker. The entire Bomber team came ready to play and was very physical throughout. Ice is sincerely very happy for them.

Also, congrats to RPI on the W. The shoes game will be fun...probably just for RPI. Both RPI and IC battled this season and have fought through some adversity (a loss and in RPI's case a loss and an injured QB).

WEEK 10 Picks(Bartman was 3-1 last week and 34-4 on season) . Bartman's picks are totally objective this week, as the Statesmen play for an ECAC bid the rest of the season.

Ithaca       31(26)       Union        28 (7)          A battle to be remembered won by IC on a last second FG

RPI           17(22)       SLU           14(20)        Larries play their hearts out but RPI looks to a new pair of shoes

Hobart       48(45)      Buff State   14(21)          Hobart dominates until Dewall empties the bench

Rochester  31(42)      Hartwick      10(28)          Yellowjackets find a victim for the stinger

Good luck and health to the LL teams and Hartwick this weekend
Bartman was 4-0 and 38-4 on the season( 2 Homer Hobart picks were close).

So , it comes down to the shoes game. Based on today's performance by Union, RPI has a good shot at the shoes AND the LL title. Bombers defense won the game and IC pesky quarterback made some great plays. SLU defended their senior day with a valiant effort but fell short as the Engineers escaped with the win. Hobart won as expected as their offense continued to pile up rushing stats . Next week Ithaca has a fight on their hands with Cortland, but Bartman thinks they'll prevail, the Shoes and the LL title will go to an RPI team with the best defense in the league ,Bombers get a pool C with a win over Cortland, as the 2 loss Hobart and Union teams scrap for post season games. Just my opinion, but I'll make my final prediction next week.
