Congratulations RPI. That All-American RPI soccer player, who joined the team this week, goes down in history for his Dutchmen Shoes last minute winning FG!

Ice Bear

Ice Bear says congratulations to ipr! Ice will be rooting for you next week for sure. ipr deserved to win this game hands down and not even the officials and Shirley Jackson could take it from them. Ice only feels sorry for the Union D who was yet again, hung out to dry by the Union O. Ice Bear says this was the second coaching loss in a row. Congrats to RPI, you deserve to have this Union fan type your name correctly and in caps.

Ice also hoping Ithaca wins and two LL teams get in.

Another wild ending to the Jug Game. Cortland blocked an IC FG which probably would have been automatic, with under 2 minutes to play. Ithaca's tougher SOS showed as the Dragons were frazzled and looked bad in the 3rd. Great regular season to both programs.

I was bummed but that was a real good game.  I'm especially bummed because Ithaca clearly hung with Cortland which showed me they could do anything next week if they made it.  That onside kick did them in.  Getting that may have out the game away but they were already up 13!  Cortland QB was rattled a few times and almost gave the game away.  you would also think after 27 ****ing slants in a row the Ithaca defense could drop a linebacker.  I think Cortland changed a little when they went up 14-3 offensively, but Ithaca's coaching staff has always been ready for them and have made adjustments as well.

As for Union, part of me wants them to fire the coaching staff the other half wants them to stick around as long as possible.  I guess next year is a fresh start for them.

RPI?  Maybe the 5th best talent in the league with the best coaches in the country?  It's like they purposely run 2 plays in a row they know wont work but then the 3rd one is a ****ing gem.  (Edit, RPI has top defensive talent, but nothing on offense except for the QB who seems to be a good manager)

Congratulations to RPI on winning the LL Title and the Shoes. They totally deserved it after playing every home game with empty pandemic stands thanks to Dr. Shirley. A tough, never give up attitude with all those super seniors . Unbelievable ending as RPI  had the BALLS to put it on the line and go for two, fall short, get the onside and have a SOCCER player win the season for them fresh off the pitch. Totally awesome win for RPI and a real heartbreaker for the Dutchmen.
Ithaca made a valiant comeback and represented the LL well in enemy territory . It was surprising to see their FG unit get blocked, but that is total credit to a Cortland team that responded to a couple of punches in the mouth and came back for a well deserved Cortaca win.
At least I feel sorta good that the Statesmen(winners over the Yellowjackets 31-0) are the only team to have beaten RPI,  the LL champion,  but we have to settle for an ECAC berth, hopefully, but no shame as this was the most exciting LL race ever.
I was hoping we would have 2 LL teams in the NCAA, but with three 2 loss teams that is unlikely(we just beat the s*** out of each other. Good luck to RPI in the playoffs, and to either or both Ithaca and Hobart in the ECACs. Tough final game  for the Dutchmen( I think final exams are a priority) , but they had a great season.

I know I muted myself but...

FIRE THE CANNON!!!!

Too soon? Haha. Anyway, that was one of the crazier finishes you'll see in as much football as you can watch. RPI has won in the last half of the 4th quarter several times this year and that really showed at the end.

I was secretly hoping they went for 2 based on how the game was going. I HATED the play call. The refs were atrocious, but ultimately it did go both ways. Pretty sure there was a flag on about 76.8% of plays in the 4th quarter. Hope those guys are proud of their impact. Total joke.

I'm sure a few Unioners will have their flannel panties in a bunch about some of the RPI antics immediately after the last second. That is called passion. It went both ways. The kid(#2 I think) on Union at corner played a hell of a game, but didn't shut the F up the entire game. I'm sure there was a ton of jawing outside of that.  There always is.  I respect it. I actually love it. As long as you can accept it when it doesn't work in your favor. Based on what I saw, the Union kids took it with grace and I have tons of respect for that.

There was a lot of heart and passion out on that field and it was an entertaining show for anyone who watched it. While I bet it was way better in person, that weather looked f'ing miserable so it was fine streaming on my TV, even with the terdy announcers and the refs that I couldn't verbally undress in person.

Great season in the LL. Hoping for some postseason magic. RPI isn't loaded with super talent, but they are LOADED with heart. And if the OC can grow a set, maybe they can make a little noise. LGR!!!

Oh yeah...one other thing...that RPI kicker better have himself one hell of a night tonight. If every player on the RPI roster doesn't make sure of that, it will be a sad embarrassment to humanity. I expect at least 6 morning-after pills to be taken by 6 individuals tomorrow.

In looking at the video, maybe Union DID give the game away. Something I hadn't noticed when it happened but RPI attempted the on-side kick from the 50 yard line. Why? Because a Union player took off his helmet immediately after the RPI 2 point try sailed out of bounds. The 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty helped set up RPI's game winning field goal.   :(

Well,I'm sure the coaching staff and Shirley will have him on corona lockdown until after the NCAA game.....The best thing they'll give him is a weekend without his mask and a night with Shirley.....and make him beg for it.

So does RPI "Host" a game or what?

RPI certainly deserves a home game with a NE team, but unless Dr. Shirley changes the attendence policy(doubtful) , I think they're traveling.

Really interesting playoff projections published. The gang has Ithaca going to Muhlenburg, where they definitely could have a shot to win. Love that Ithaca is still in the mix. And then they have Carnegie 'Thornton' Melon '@' RPI. Based on most of us assuming RPI cannot host, this will be a complete punch in the gut to RPI if they had to travel to CM. Not a trip anyone wants to take when you earned a home game. Not sure if a neutral field could be a potential, like in Albany or something, but I'd guess the location would flip. I'm personally hoping for an Endicott pairing. Trip to Beverly would only be about 3 hours as opposed to 7 and change. Just not sure that's a remote possibility. Then you also have Springfield and Framingham as close options. Both good pairings for RPI but Springfield just seems to 'make sense' to go to Mt Union, and for some reason Framingham ALWAYS goes to Cortland. So who knows.

If RPI has to travel 7+ hours somewhere as the 'home' team due to their pompous a$$hole president, it's pretty sad and she should be forced out immediately. Won't happen, but it should. What an embarrassment.

Hope the Union guys are walking ok this morning after the cannon festivities last night. Godspeed. I saw this jelly from Kentucky on a shelf at the store once. I bet it woulda helped.

Not only that, but a possible R2 matchup with Salisbury, who Dan Swanstrom has experience beating.

Very excited at the possibilities!
