All Region Teams out.

I thought the Ithaca QB was better than the Cortland QB but the numbers don't back that up.  Bunch of LL guys on there obviously.

Ice Bear kind of jives with this as well Utah. Ice says it's funny, and this is no knock on Segala as he was certainly an excellent and accomplished QB, but after watching the Springfield and RPI games Ice was just kind of left hanging a bit with him. While each time Ice watched the IC QB, Ice was very ****ing impressed. Ice says numbers certainly don't tell all...unless they are TOP numbers.

Ice also takes into consideration the idea that numbers, skill positions, hot dogs, schemes, field position, turnovers, flying kites, special teams, lollipops, coaching, budgets, leadership, QB play, pass defense, LB play, safety reads, tea time, open field tackling, and an assortment of other pieces of the game are meaningless according to Christ...aka olddog. As EVERYTHING in football is based upon what happens up front...any other thinking is not only uncivilized but humorous... ::)

Ice says to check this out fellas. A horrible injury to a Linfield LB late during last Saturday's game. Ice Bear can't imagine the pain and fear this family is dealing with. Seems there was some good news today about the young man's status. Ice says please consider helping out if possible:

speaking of up front, RPI DT Josh Cohen gets 1st team all Region.  Another player I coached against in HS but had zero clue he was that good until I watched the NCC game where he was very aggressive.

IMO, Hobart's Boswell should have made the list as well.  As good as Denham is, I actually think Boswell is better.  More explosive runner.  Having both back next year will be very interesting for the rest of the league.....

Just listening to the D3 Football In the Huddle podcast of MTU/NCU and Will Bellamy is a guest of Frank Rossi and James Baker. Bellamy just disclosed that he suffered a separated shoulder week #4 vs. Springfield. I had heard rumors and suspected that he had a shoulder or rib injury. That explains why the Union offense became so run happy. Bellamy had a great career at Union. It's a shame he wasn't at his best down the stretch.

Ice Bear says this explains a TON. Ice not making excuses here, just making it clear that this was the reason the offense became so one dimensional. Even when Bellamy threw the ball towards the end of the season his arm strength and accuracy were just not there. Ice says Bellamy had an excellent career at Union and Ice will always be a fan.

Indeed.  But even weirder they didn't give a very talented backup a shot, esp at the end of the year when they really needed a passing game.

Jonny U, thanks for offering the portal as a solution  ;), As far as Boswell he had a nagging leg injury all year that limited his reps , but still had an award worthy year with 934 rush yards(7.2 per carry) and 19 catches for 272 yards .  Tim Denham picked up his Freshman game from 2019 and was durable and shifty( 1168 yards rushing and 12/84 on receiving). If both of them are healthy next year, Dewall needs to innovate ways to feature both of these backs. Boswell is an incredible athlete and was an effective QB in prep school that sprinted out on a run/pass option for 10 TD passes . They both have good moves and hands as receivers, and if our returning 5th year QB can work on his accuracy(best game was against  mediocre Union DBs) , I think we could have a scary offense next year.
Sorry to hear about Bellamy's shoulder, it was evident he had arm strength issues. Hobart's 2019 AA linebacker , Emmett Ford, also separated his shoulder early in the season and kept playing with it. Pretty much played with one shoulder/arm all year and still made All Region, but didn't have to throw with it.

Congratulations to 2 LL First Team AFCA 2021 selections: Hobart LB Emmett Forde and Ithaca's K Nicholas Bahamonde. This is Emmett Forde's second First Team selection (2019) , which is the first time a Statesmen made consecutive AA first team selections....Like many of these players, he played through pain most of this season after a shoulder separation that persisted....congrats to these LL standouts.

The final D3.com poll is out and the Liberty League had one of its better seasons. Congratulations to RPI(13) and Ithaca (21) for top 25 rankings, as well as Hobart and Union for both collecting 8 votes each. The 2022 season should be another great one. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all D3 football fans!
