Does anyone know what type of healthcare protocols there are at RPI for gameday visitors? The website is not definitive or specific to visitors attending a few hour game...Maybe I missed it. I'm still hopeful for a Statesmen season comeback coupled with my friends at Union and RPI upsetting the Bombers. Not likely, but hey ......you never know in the Liberty League. ;D

There is nothing specific anywhere on the website addressing this matter that I could find. That is why I sent an email (a less than cordial one) to the athletic director requesting the very same information you are looking for before I spent over $300 for a hockey season ticket and parking. To absolutely no surprise to anyone around here, it was ignored. Obviously there was no purchase and I have only bought individual tickets to two of the four home hockey games so far. In the past there have been decades where there were not two missed home hockey games!!!

Best advice is that BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME go to the athletics' website and click on RPI.EDU toward the top of the page and wait a few seconds for what color bar comes up above the new president's head. If it comes up green you are probably alright. Unless you like foliage, safest choice is to stay home if any other color comes up. No idea what you or us would be walking into with any other color coming up except that for me it is only a matter of turning around, walking back to my car and drive the hell home for four miles and watch the SEC.

It was green just before I started typing this, just as it was for the three home football games I did attend as well as the two hockey games I went to. For all five green days there were no real noticeable restrictions or protocols. Everyone, albeit a lot less of them these days, were allowed in with no "screening" of any kind and the rest rooms were all open to boot. For the time being no more watching from a distant hill and no more having to thromp in the the woods to relieve yourself (of which I did neither). Strangely though, and there will always be something strange at this place, all the water fountains are still turned off. So you best bring your own or it's $3 a pop at the one concession stand with the very long line.

All the above as well as the utterly lunatic restrictions of the past two years, the "buzz" the institutions' athletic programs used to generate in the local area being all but gone and the miniscule crowds (especially at the hockey games) now being drawn to their venues were best summed up last Sunday by an editorial writer at the major Capital District newspaper. He simply wrote that PEOPLE SIMPLY NO LONGER FEEL WELCOME THERE.

Not sure if anyone here knows this, but the Cortaca game at Yankee Stadium is now being picked up by the YES network (which I don't have, and never want to get).  Does this mean the game will not be streamed for free?

Ice bear says he thinks that's pretty ****ing cool...as long as that delusional asshat Michael Kay isn't ****ing commentating! >:(

"Bassett said that students in the Roy H. Park School of Communications will have the benefit of working as part of the YES Network broadcast, which will also be streamed by Ithaca College Television at ICTV.org. The college's student-run radio station WICB will air the game as well, to Central New York at 91.7 FM and streamed everywhere at WICB.org."

thank you that is good to know.

+k tony. Ice is so sorry to hear about your experience with the hockey tickets. Ice says what a ****ing shame and honestly, shame on that administration and assface AD who can't even return an e-mail to a dedicated supporter of the Engineers. Ice doesn't blame any RPI fans for feeling "unwelcome" because that's exactly the way they've been treated. Ice has the utmost respect for the loyalty and dedication of Engineer fans over the years. Not much could really **** that up...aside from a completely out of touch ****y administration.

Ice says it makes him think of Jim M at Union. Ice would guess not a week goes by where Papa Ice Bear doesn't speak with Big Jim about something Union related (usually hockey and/or football). The Bear says Big Jim is always visible and always seems to treat Papa Ice Bear with respect by giving him his ear and quite often some good information. Ice says say what you will about Big Jim, as Ice has heard many different things about him over the years, but as far as his interactions go with us loyal/obsessed/peasant working class Union Shocktown locals, he's been really good.

Still green as of 5 P.M. Friday. Doubt even the "science" of this place (science only this place seems to be aware of since at least the fall of 2021) can get to the point of locking everything down by noon tomorrow. Doubt even this place would have the gall to cancel events requiring payment and locking everything down after they spent the week selling untraceable and refundable walk up tickets.

Analysis seems to indicate that tomorrow is as good a time as any to take a chance and enjoy a day here. However and on the other hand, absolutely nothing this place does would shock me anymore. Kind of like what the late, great Rowdy Roddy Piper was once heard to have said, "just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions"

Tony, WWE references always get +k, but even an early green this morning might be a head fake , so I'll take a pass on the live attendance . Winner of this game is first team to double digits.

Caz Bombers

Either RPI has the defense of the '85 Bears or Hobart offense is absolutely abominable.

RPI just got a safety on a bad snap and literally might win 2-0.

Caz Bombers

RPI in big trouble, down 13-2 in the 4th quarter.

Bombers up 9-0 on SLU, late 1st half. Sluggish.

tecmobowler

Not sure it's been mentioned on the broadcast, but there's winds of 20-30 MPH here in Bomberland today.

Obviously doesn't account for fumbling twice....

Cortland sucks. What a stupid place.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

The key play of the game was a penalty called that IMO shouldn't have been called. With 5:00 left in the 4th Hobart had a 2nd and 12 from their 49 and Boswell runs for 10 yards BUT there's a flag. #63 offensive lineman Ben Franks for Hobart pulls a bonehead move and shoves #11 Anthony Messner to the ground well after the action was past him. The shove happened but Messner definitely flopped. I would not have thrown a flag for that acting job. Soccer and basketball have legislated against player flops but unfortunately football officials still fall for it. The 15 yard personal foul penalty stopped what could have been a Hobart clock consuming drive.

Ice Bear says, yup. He watched the entire **** show. The Bear says that ****ing team is never out of it. Ice watched a QB who looked much like a backup HS QB flip the ****ing script and turn into a seasoned D3 starter and lead his team right down the field. Ice sends his respect.

hahah ****in RPI magic.

Ithaca cruises today versus SLU but probably lost one of the best defensive backs in the league and East in Anthony Robinson.  He came down on his leg real bad in what looked like a possible femur injury (I hope it wasn't....).

Congratulations to the Engineers for avenging their 10-9 loss from 2021 at the Boz as they ruin the Statesmen's season. RPI comes up with another "skinny" win. Their defense is for real, so they can beat anyone by keeping the game close. Hobart offense comes alive in the second half after the worst first half probably ever,  while the" bend but not break" defense crumbled on the last RPI drive.  It really sucks having your season goal over so early, but winning out and protecting the Boz against Union is all we have left. Good luck to the rest of the contenders, but I'm thinking the RPI defense is good enough to frustrate both Ithaca and Union, as ugly as those games might be. I do think that the Ithaca offensive line can make it a dogfight in the trenches against the RPI DLine, so the Bombers are still the favorites this year, but Union looks like it is not far behind.
