Good luck to all the Liberty League teams and any players putting the pads on for the last time today.

good God, RPI has to find a better noisemaker to hand out at the Dutchman shoes game. I am watching on video, and it sounds like they are torturing an entire flock of geese in the stands.

No Kazanowsky for RPI today. I've been in the clouds all week. Had no clue he was out. I'm sure DeMatteo will play well. Excited for the Shoes. I'm favoring RPI today but Union convinced me they have a shot after last week's game.

Hoping for a competitive, entertaining, and injury free game for both of these great schools and this great rivalry.

No Rose (hurt) or Wise (sick) today vs. Hobart.  Jackets using third string QB Senior Anthony Pucciarelli.  This will be his first start.  Windy and Sunny could be a tough day to throw for both teams.

Caz Bombers

Jug is 14-14 late 2nd quarter in Lizardville.

I am very happy with Union's play in the first half. I think they really competed. Patch throws a beautiful TD pass, maybe his best of the season. Of course he follows that up with two very poor throws to open receivers after Union was gifted beautiful field position after and RPI special teams mistake. That inconsistent accuracy on short passes with great field position really hurts. Overall, Patch is competing and so is the Union D. I like the play calling as I believe you've got to keep the D honest and try to run the ball. Union line struggles but has had a couple moments.

I like the way RPI is playing. I'd give them the slight edge as of now. I like the way they run the ball, patient and always finding the seems, even if for a short gain. DeMatteo looks good, although he's missed a couple but has really made a couple of nice throws and showed some excellent poise. I like how he runs the option out of the gun. RPI D is tough and really competes. Overall a very enjoyable game this far.

I think the RPI O will continue to grind away and with their increased TOP wear down the Union D. I think Union will have some 3 and outs with their limited running game and inconsistent passing. That may be the difference and has proven to be Union's downfall many times this season. Again, I'm proud of the effort and some of the offensive execution and defensive discipline I'm seeing from Union so far. They're really going to have to step up to win this one.

Maybe this has been said before but the Hobart announcer is such a homer.  Everything they do is magical and won't even say who made a tackle or catch for us.  Never seen it this bad in my 17 years as a parent and fan.  Shameful at this level.

RPI gets absolutely hosed on what should have been ruled a Union catch and fumble with an RPI recovery and was not. With that said, they take care of the things they can control, and go up 17-7 after a nice downfield pass and catch followed by running the ball right into the end zone.

feels like RPI is getting ready to pull away here. Union offense having trouble sustaining drives; the o line remains the fatal weak point.  here's hoping the D can hang in there a little longer.

Cortland 21-17 with 13 minutes to do.  Not sure they are going to pull this thing out, but a baller effort out of the Bombers.

I've seen enough of Cortland this year to conclude this year's version is not an elite team that is going to compete agin with the NCCs of the world.  They are a very good team with an obscenely great generational talent at QB.  It's hard to overstate how everything about this team's success begins and ends with Boyes.  They can maybe steal a game from the NCC/UW Plateville type programs, but I don't seem the getting beyond the semis again.

Cortland wins 28-17.  I can't fault the Ithaca defense at all, they tried and they got stops on an offense that you really don't expect to get them against (2 fumbles lost from a team who had only lost 4 all season and a successful block of 4th and 1 on the IC 5).  But after the first quarter, something just changed in Ithaca's offense and nothing worked.  Eventually the defense was just not going to be able to stop the inevitable.

Better game than I was expecting, but a result I knew was coming.

Sorry , but we love Ted Baker. He is part of the fabric of the college, calls football, lacrosse, hockey, basketball and women's basketball and soccer. Ted is welcomed here for as long as he wants to announce, even though he is a tad partial ;D

Statesmen finish off the season with a 37-7 victory over the Yellowjackets. Very windy today and Jackets were undermanned at QB but still came to play scoring their lone TD on an awesome  KO return( we tried keeping it away all game but congrats on the runback). EJ Taylor gets a 1000 yards on the season and Hobart , while imperfect, is ready for the playoffs. Most likely getting a bye and traveling to Hopkins, but we'll see tomorrow.
