After looking it over, I guess there is another overall problem in terms of regions and teams available from each region:

West - 9
North - 8
East - 6
South - 9

With the West and South looking bloated (assuming Linfield and Hardin-Simmons win and assuming Cal Lutheran is in the mix), it seems that one team would need to rotate out of the South and one team rotate out of the North into the East to give them 8 teams.  In doing so, the West would have to "loan" a team to the North (likely Central).  But who would rotate from the North?  I still think JHU goes to the East because of its weak play lately and its proximity compared to W&J.  Essentially, I think the East is going to be forced to accept a team that will have to possibly fly in the second round.  How about this:

1) D Valley
2) Union
3) Rowan
4) Hobart
5) Capital
6) Ithaca
7) JHU
8) Curry

Yeah, something funky is going to happen.  I think Wesley is a lock for the East regardless and are going to get screwed.  They deserve a home game.  Capital could fit in the South and play at Thiel (on the Ohio/PA border).  Capital is also less than 500 miles from Rowan.........

Cortland/Alfred fans may want to keep an eye on what's going on in the ASC right now.  Texas Lutheran is up on Hardin-Simmons at the half.

If Hardin-Simmons loses, that may open up another Pool C slot.......

UNION 82

Redtackle,

It was nice meeting you, your buddies were cool too.
(Thanks for watching my back at the half). ;D

You guys are solid, with freshman QB you are looking good to come. Good special teams too!

UNION 82 does not feel it appropriate to go in to promised "gloat-fest" after watching RPI's men give it their all.

Following NYS HIGH SCHOOL results...

From my buddy who is currently at Albany Law (SLU '94).  He is an avid follower of HS ball.  I though this might be interesting for guys who are into following the recruiting scene.  How many of these schools will send kids to D-III teams?

-------
Section 4 (Binghamton/Elmira, and Norwich's section) is
giving Section 3 (Syracuse/Utica/Watertown) the business this
weekend in the NYS football regionals.  Here's how the five classes are shaking out:

AA - Syracuse CBA (ranked #1 in NYS) is beating UE (unranked), 21-13 in the fourth quarter.  But...

A - Corning East 35, Whitesboro 14, final;

B - Chenango Forks 34, Homer 7, final;

C - Sidney 41, General Brown 13, final;

D - Deposit 34, Watertown IHC 14, final.

Personally, I think the whole "class" system is flamingly gay.  But it ain't going anywhere, so I deal with it.

Note: Norwich's 4 losses this year came at the hands of Forks
(twice), Sidney, and Owego.  Owego beat Norwich 14-7 on a fluke play, and went on to give Forks a tough 25-19 scare in the Section 4 championship.

It appears that this part of the state might be playing some pretty tough ball lately.
---------

I don't expect to see many kids from Deposit on DIII rosters next year, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing a kid or two from CBA or UE end up on Hobart's squad.

Str8Gangsta

Boyz-

Str8gangsta was very pleased to reside in Mr. Roger's section of Bailey Field for the shoot-out.  Str8gangsta contacted Cooperstown Brewing Company with TI's Old Slugger-and- Heinz mustard-packet alternative to Corona with a lime.  They seemed unimpressed.

Union82, your slick-leafed slide demonstrated your devotion.

TI -- based on your 5 servings of chili (and various other bowel-shaking endeavors) must be, as I post, providing an historic self Dutch(man)-oven.

If U gets homefield, and y'all are coming up, please contact Str8gansta.

Was a great time, and a good win.

Peace.

bigdvs

bigdvs would like to echo almost everyone else great game, great win, awsome undefeated season, tough no quit opponent! See everyone for first round opponent next week

bigdvs was glad to see no incidents and no punches, way to be gentlemen it reflects well on both of the institutions we claim to proudly hail from

bigdvs has one question for Frank Rossi:

Any chance the NCAA will choose to make Union #1 seed to face Curry and send W&J to Del Val. It would eliminate a flight in possibly both rounds if  Union and Del Val win. Just a thought.

The only true currency in this bankrupt world... is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.

Thanks guys, nice to meet so many rabid D-III fans. Sorry I wasn't able to hang out after the game -- with the server crash we were a little bit behind on getting the site up to date and that has to come first.  :-\

First, it's doubtful Union surpasses Delaware Valley for the #1 seed in the East, as Delaware valley has finished in 3rd place on the Quality of Wins (SoS) chart.  Union finishes in 7th place in the SoS chart.

Second, the Hardin-Simmons loss helps the NCAA immensely, giving the East Region a 7th team (in Cortland) that actually resides in that region.  That gives the East 7, South 8, North 8, West 9.  If Central shifts to the North and Capital shifts to the East, I think we have a good bracket.  Here is my guess for the East, now that games are over:

1) Delaware Valley
2) Union
3) Rowan
4) Hobart
5) Capital
6) Cortland
7) Ithaca
8) Curry
