Any word on the ECAC matchups at all???

I think they are announced on Monday...

That is correct.  It should be announced around 1pm.

Caz Bombers

Caz was very glad to be able to follow The Shoes game through the Time Warner video stream online, will they be doing that again for Ithaca-Union this Saturday? Caz seems to recall hearing the NCAA frowns on that.

Caz also congratulates the U on their undefeated season and Hobart on their Pool C bid.   Caz says Cortland is for real and predicts that Dragons-Pumpkinheads will be a nailbiter.

Curious to know who the RPI crew will be rooting for, IC or Union? LL brotherhood or Union schadenfreude?

ECAC Projections:

Here are the teams that are eligible, in order of W/L record:

School                         Conference                   Host        Record
Bridgewater State              NEFC                         yes         8-1
Alfred University              Empire 8                     yes         8-2
Fitchburg State College        NEFC                         no host     8-2
St. John Fisher College        Empire 8                     yes         8-2
Maine Maritime Acad.           NEFC                         yes         7-2
RPI                            Liberty League               yes         7-2

Endicott College               NEFC                         yes         7-3
Utica College                  Empire 8                     yes         6-4
W. Conn. St. University        Little East                  yes         6-4
SUNY Brockport                 ACFC                         yes         5-5

My prediction of pairings is a little awkward because they involve two rematches.  The travel issues presented by Maine Maritime are the biggest problem, as it really can't travel to Upstate New York in less than eight hours.  It has played both of the other NEFC teams I project making the tourney.  The other problem is that both Fitchburg and Bridgewater are about 400 miles from St. John Fisher (and more to Alfred).  Thus, RPI really should play one of those two schools based on location.

Fitchburg St. at RPI (North Atlantic Championship)
Maine Maritime at Bridgewater St. (Northeast Championship)
St. John Fisher at Alfred (Northwest Championship)

It's the attack of the Little East again!

So, what's the U bringing to the table this Saturday?

Offense/Defense/Special Teams?

Kilted Rat

In case anyone wants a word document printable bracket, here's one Kiltedrat threw together today complete with records of all competing teams.

Best of luck to all teams!

Wish we could meet up with the RPI guys again, but who knows, maybe Union gets the trip out west!

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Oh, well, Union's got several secret weapons.  Let me tell you about some:

1) Their main tailback is their best receiver.  Thus, never run blitz.

2) Their QB never runs the ball.  He's been known to eat a bit too much pasta, so he's too slow for that.  So in a five receiver set, he's always throwing.

3) They always run punt block.

4) When #4 is out receiving, it's always a screen pass to him.

5) By far, the worst defensive back is #28.  His stats are inflated because of a couple games against cheesecake offenses.  Don't worry about man coverage with him.

Hope I saved you some research.

union89

Fun was certainly had by all yesterday at Frank Bailey....Union89 respectfully declined the invitation to play RT and fellow Originaleers in Baggo but took every opportunity to swill down the car bombs....Union89 did 3 CB's....AppleJack, RT and LewDogg dominated the consumption of happy endings!!  Union82 took a serious header at halftime, but did not fumble any Diet Pepsi's!!!  Union89 met "Wicked Tall Female Friend", she was very pretty and not really "Wicked Tall".....Union89 gives major props to the boys of Troy....you dudes travel well and the numbers were VERY impressive...Outside of the Union "W", the best part of Saturday was when the Guru approached AppleJack about all the crazy, "Guru is 12 feet tall" posts from last week.  AJ started with, "Guru, come on it's Union/RPI week!!"  AJ then proceeded to throw the Guru in a patented choke slam.... ;D.

union89

Holy Mackeral......Str8gangsta in the house!!!!  Very true, the "Slugger's" Ale along with a package of mustard was classic!!  Union89 will touch base with you later in the week about Saturday....

Are those E8er's serious asking if RPI will support Union or ithica??  They obviously don't understand how we roll here in the LL.

Rolevio is quite impressed with Dawg's creativity in reasons for sick days.  Rolevio thinks Dawg may get a visit from hot chick in HR about his use of sick days soon.  Rolevio suspects that was planned as well.

I just wanted to publicly thank Mr. Pat Coleman for joining Carmen Audino and me during the third quarter of the Union/RPI WABY/SportsJuice.com broadcast.  Sorry to let down the conspiract theorists, but there were no punches thrown, no broken bones and fun was had by all.

I think his knowledge rubbed off onto me, as we both went 31 out of 32 (which in reality, is 10 out of 11 when auto-bids are factored out) in selecting the teams for the Big Dance.  I hope he enjoyed himself in Schenectady, and I know the coaches and players really appreciated the front-page picture on Saturday night.
