Bobby needs LLPP Inc's, and its followers help.

Bobby has been asked to transfer (replace someone who is leaving the company) to an office located in a small town (<20K )in NY.  Bobby is considering taking the position b/c bobby has spent the last 2.5 years working on projects out of the office and it is really becoming a headache with Mrs Boucher, and the little bouchers.

What Bobby needs is guidance on what to ask for.  When Bobby was approached to transfer, the question was, "what will it take to get bobby to transfer?"  So the ball is in Bobbys court.

Bobby is open for suggestions and pointers.

Reg would ask for something salary related...and depending on the distance to work....a car.
Let's be honest for a second.....you either need to fill in a few blanks or let us run wild with ideas.

#1- Upstate is cheap as hell...(you can ask for a relo package)
#2- You are actually looking for a change
#3- Give us an idea of how how happy you are with this move...
#4- Is this good or bad for your career?
#5- Will you have unlimited availability to LLPP?

Just got back from a comedy club, here's best line of the night:

I was sitting around one day, my wallet was full and my nuts were empty.  I thought to myself how can I reverse this situation?  So I got married.

I think we need to know where this small town in ny is.  I mean are you talking like orange/weschester county small?  or are you talking like St. Lawrence/Adriondiak small?

Also,

What will the impact be upon Mrs. B and the little b's?

For instance, some smaller areas do not have much for children to do other than the usual fare of recreation soccer, little league baseball and pop warner football.

After twenty years in the Navy, and a fare amount of relocation, and waiting on orders now, the biggest impact I find is usually to the family since they spend most of the time in the new digs unlike me who is mostly at work.

Tough call - I wish you success, Bobby.

JT would recommend that Bobby investigate industries, like jobs, and like careers in/around the small town.  If it is a one horse/company area, it may make it difficult to move on should the need arise.

Bobby, how far away from the nearest metropolitan area is this town?  Does the town have a lot to offer or do you really have to go elsewhere to do anything?  Will the family have enough to do there & how is the school system for the little Bouchers? What's the weather like there during the year..colder & snowier winter then normally used to?  Is there an opportunity for growth in this new job?

Tough decision...best of luck...

LD11 has a kidney stopne currently lodged in his pee tube.  LD11 may die today.  Right now, it feels as if i'm being stabbed in the taint.

And how is that for dedication?  In my biggest time of crisis, i'm posting on LLPP.

I need to pound gatorade and generate some 'gunpowder'.

'gro

may this karma bestowed upon you dissolve that stone like roofies in a mai tai.

Well, LD11 has had them periodically since he was 18.  Always fears getting them stuck on the way out though...

Percocet time...

On a lighter note, LD11 had his first run in with an alligator on the golf course yesterday.  a 6 or 7 footer sat there pissed off staring at us while we heckled him.  It was pretty cool actually.

LD11,

Hopefully a k+ bump to 200 will help your pain!

LD and all other LLPP employees, when you pass a kidney stone, try to catch the stone if you can (seriously as gross as it sounds) and take it to your primary care doc/urologist, or mail it to KR.

If they get a chance to analyze it, they can usually tell you what kind of stone it is and try to help you figure out the cause and prevent it in the future!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Like I said, I've had them since I was 18, and it's old hat.  I've had a jillion tests.  Even passed one in the pee cup at the hospital in college.  Mine are heriditary.  I'm 27 going on 70.
