Garnet

Reg,

Garnet agrees with you!

Garnet has no patience for stupidity.

Nice segue into Garnet's next topic.   Baseball rants two weeks into the season.

U89 I agree with you with regards to Sterling. He is annoying.

Program Review: Real World.

This season is a wash. BORING. Last night we find out that anorexic paula has an ex-boyfriend that beat her. Judging by their phone conversations, this guy could have his own show about his mental problems.

Meanwhile, frat boy (John?) brings home some chicks from the bar. One chick wants to hook up with "don't ask don't tell" Jose. She strips down to a thong and jumps in the pool... he goes to bed. WTF?

Gro,

Reg turned on the show very late and has a few notes to mention.

- Since when did TV start allowing full thong shots on TV?...I mean this girl just had everything hanging out and MTV airs it?
-  WHat is up with Jose'....I think we will learn something we all knew about him very soon.
- Anorexic girl....how annoying...cry more, you wonder why so many women continue to get beat....because they keep coming back for more
- Idiot young girl....you have no idea what you are talking about...stop trying to play "meet the shrink" with every person

More details to follow once I catch one of the 50 replays over the next day.  All of the above came from watching about the last 10 mins of the show.

Reg- Is this a complaint?  Admit considers it progress!!
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

'gro

KR, JA, and TDT,

Shouldn't you guys settle this over a pillow fight?

Garnet

Garnet wonders if this was filmed in Schenectady.

The picture below in Garnet's signature makes him think of Clarence Beeks.  Which then leads to the question asked months ago with respect to Holladawg.

Where the hell is Holladawg.

'gro

LD and Gro will be on Holladawg watch during our stay in the ATL. 80 degree weather starts tomorrow and should last a few days....

ladies, break out those tank tops.

RE Computer Skillz

This is probably really rude, but Reg is always taking the keyboard/ mouse away from people that are so slow it makes my head hurt.  For instance.....when we were at home depot looking at cabinets, the lady is "pointing and pecking" one key at a time for my name / address...... Can I just do it?????

It may be that I am a total spaz or just plain inpatient.....or BOTH!!

The LLPP's thoughts?

Bobby does not tolerate lack of computer skills at work, especially by anyone younger than bobby - 35.  If bobby doesn't like what bobby sees within the first 15 seconds, bobby politely tells the computer illerate employee to move over, I'll drive.

The exception to this rule, of course, is with the da boss.  Bobby will attempt to explain for another 15 seconds, then bobby will take over.

Now that bobby is talking about work, bobby just found out that Engineering is Ranked as the 17th best job in America -

http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bestjobs/top50/index.html

Bobby doesn't understand how engineering is the 17th best job.  As an engineering consultant to industrial clients, bobby is always getting projects that are way behind and have little money.  Its definately a sh*tty way to make a life.

Side note - +K'ed to Garnet earlier today.  Good to see it going up.

+K to gro to make it 300

JT hung up the technical career after years of that BS.  Its the a*sholes in advertising and marketing that have the money.  When companies think about more money, they think more sales, not better systems (savings).

The marketing customers are also unreasonable jerks for the most part, the projects are way behind, but they will pay overtime/AA's to get something done on time.

RE: Recovery Update

A level 2.5 Hangover settled in around 10:30 this morning.   With approximately 1.82 gallons of coffee in his system, Admit has the jitters in addition to headache/sweats, etc-thinking about donating the body to science.

JT,
You mean the Brand Managers at most corporations are clueless jerks who make the Ad Managers (#11 on the list – thank you), and their staff, do more creative gyrations than Charo with a coffee high. These folks are so afraid of sticking their neck out to make a decision that they'll delay the entire process and won't approve anything that's presented to them until the point in time you tell them they won't make their media buy ($$$$!!!) unless they approve something before they slither out of the office. By employing this effective technique of dragging their feet and offering up nonsensical analysis and critique, they can avoid and deflect any internal criticism that might have been directed at them by their own corporate peers. "Yeah, I know the spot was weak and a tad off target towards our demograhic, but the agency didn't come through on this until the last possible second". "Maybe we should do an agency review ... that'll make those creative types take notice".

This tried and true method also helps these folks get more money in their budget for the next fiscal year because they made so many AA's that they doubled their project costs.

We used to be convinced that yesterday's lunch-line server at our #1 client, was tomorrow's Brand Manager!
