Allright, Im back from atlantic city and DC. My take on those places.....

-New Jersey has some of the most useless tolls in the country. 35 cent tolls? What a waste of time.

-Dont stay at Ballys Casino in Atlantic City. Im doin either Ceasers, Showboat or Taj Mahal next time.

-Irish Pub was good. (thanks LD) Not too many people in Atlantic City these days.

-DC is the cleanest city Ive ever been too. Youre not even allowed to eat or drink on the public trains.

We're not sure- we always figured there was a monk S.W.A.T. team that enforced the no students on monestary grounds policy....so it's possible-just imagine what you could hide under those frocks-assault rifles, tear gas, body armor, small children...

-Are you guys sure the head football coach doesnt make decisions on who the football team plays? I mean Im sure you guys know more than me, but a football teams schedule is a very important part of the football team itself. I would be suprised if the football coach didnt have a part in this major aspect of a football program

-RPIs coach might have been told that only a daytrip nonleague game would be allowed in the budget for 06'. Now, RPI has a home spot that I assume must be filled by a d3 private school. Probably no d3 private schools agreed to either a home in home on a day trip agreement, or did not agree for a one year deal in 06'.

I don't care who made the decision, or what the specifications were, but booking Becker was the WRONG choice. I'd rather see them get Hartwick back then friggin Becker.

Regardless of who else they could have chosen, let's be honest, scheduling a second-year team that has yet to win a game sends the wrong message.

You're right -- scheduling Hartwick would have been drastically better. Or Susquehanna (2-8). Anyone that played football in the 20th century would have been better.

But then again, who gets into the playoffs next year....

A 8-1 RPI team with a loss to an undefeated Union.. or

A 8-2 Ithaca team with losses to an undefeated SJF and Cortland.

sometimes it doesnt pay to have tough schedules in a pool a system. Teams have benefited from soft schedules

It might not be so cut and dried that RPI would go ahead of Ithaca in that situation.

Regs right, its way to early to start talking about this stuff. Im going to start of list of things that should banned as conversation material in 2006.

1) Talk about a d3 Upstate "super conference"

2) Talk about how teams like Utica, St. Lawrence or even Alfred will make an impact this year.

3) Frank Rossi charts, formulas and logorythems of the Liberty League power rankings

JU, Yes, you're right, softer schedules often make the torunament of teams with tougher schedules. But seriously, i'd rather have a battle tested team making the playoffs. If you can't win those 2 tough games like in your example, how will you fare in the playoffs? Probably not too well. BUT, if you CAN win atleast 1 of those SJF or Cortland games, and go 9-1, you probably have a better shot in the playoffs.

I'm just sick and tired of RPI's junk schedule, worrying about losing 1 of the big 2 games, and then taking sh!t from everyone in the country about our crap schedule. The bottom line is, RPI CAN play with the good teams, and CAN beat the good teams, but unfortunately, because of the scheduling, no one in the country will ever believe it until they win each year in the playoffs.

Hey, I'm sure the hockey team could benefit from a softer schedule. I don't think they've done too much lately, but that's all the administration REALLY cares about.

yup yup LD. Plenty of teams within an administratively friendly distance that RPI could be playing... 1st off being recently ended series against SJF and Hartwick. After them I'd say any team in central NY, Northern NJ, or New England.

But enough about that. For all you music fans out there I hear Bin Laden has a new tape out and it is setting the streets on fiya!!
