I like when they put "DO NOT BEND" on the junk mail to make it look that much more important.

Or when you get the plastic card in in a junk mail credit card envelope with your name on it to make you feel special.  Kind of like when your an Indiana basketball recruit and you go in and your name is on a jersey hanging from the rafters....

If you're really bored, you can do what KR does with credit card offers:
1.  Open the envelope (especially if it says "Time Sensitive Material" or some crap like that).
2.  Find the return envelope and set it aside.
3.  Shred all other contents along with the originial outside envelope.
4.  Stuff shredded contents along with any used pieces of chewing gum and other trash you have laying around.
5.  Seal return envelope and drop in mail.

Why it works:
By pre-addressing the return envelope and putting tehir little stamp up top, the credit card company has agreed to pay for return postage of that envelope regardless of contents. Thick envelopes are heavier and cost more, plus they take up more space in their mailbox.
It also makes KR feel better.

Bonus question:
Anyone know why so many credit card apps come from Salt Lake City? Damn Mormons, leave me alone!

Bonus bonus question:
Does anyone else get the credit card offers from your alma mater? SJU must have contracts with 5 different credit card companies to offer a SJU creditc card.

KR I used to do that with filling the envelope but the now I am seeing them come to me with barcodes on the back under the flap so they are able to track it.  Needless to say that ends up in the shredder now with all the other junk...
Usually get 2-3 solicitaions for IC credit card a month also..no thanks already have a piece of plastic

pretty much any mail that isn't from UPS/Fedex Gro does not want... because it is either junk mail or a bill.

But the junk mail is rediculas. I don't need any more insurance on my house, car, junk, than I already have... I don't need a car loan from Bill Heard Chervolet. I don't even want that blue packet of coupons.

Agree with you on that one Gro...at one point Grad was receiving 3-5 solicitations from Capital One each week.  And each one they would either put in a different package or envelope to disguise it.  It took 3+ phone calls over a 5 month period to get them to stop..as each time they would ask if I wanted it(NO I ALREADY HAVE A CREDIT CARD AND THATS ALL I NEED, I would say) or they would say then never had a record of the last time I called to get them to stop and they would say it takes 4-6 weeks to process(YEAH RIGHT!).

It truely is unbelievable what these people do.  When Mrs Grad & I purchased our house when set it up with an unlisted phone # as where we had previously lived were solicited no less then 5 times a night by phone.  Now it is very few and far between but still just as annoying when it happens, but the worst is the junk mail..I would really like to know who sold my name(bet it was that damn mortgage company)!!!  Thank god for the shredder!!

JT has built a fledging side business using the 0% CC offers to 2007, 08 etc. So he likes those.

JT knows one dood that rolls 100K around on the offers.... makes some investments, pays them off....  and drives a leased Mercedes Kompressor free with the extra cash.

RE: Junk Mail

If it didn't work and make companies money, you wouldn't see it in your mailbox.

reg -- yes only english will do and up here in philly we are enforcing it !!!!! No Shirt...No shoes....No english....No cheesesteak!!!!                                                                            http://articles.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20060608140209990009&ncid=NWS00010000000001

This guy is now under fire from some comsumer orgs that he is being offensive with the sign.  Potential lawsuits etc.

His reply on CNN this morning, "If they can't read the sign how can they be offended?  And if they can read the sign why would they be offended?"

He also hasn't refused to serve anyone regardless of the sign.

JT loves the non-PC common sense truth in this statement.  We need more people like this.  JT will stop and buy a cheesestake the next time he's in Philly.

These credit card offers are all bad too.  Even the airline ones.  I got one from united the other day offering me a $20,000 limit with each dollar earning you a frequent flyer mile BUT the finance charge is 18.99% and a balance must be kept at $5,000 meaning the finance charge per month would be much more than the dam plane ticket price in the first place!!!!

And Kiltedrat....

States like Utah (and Minnesota for that matter, see Bestbuy creditlines) allow interest rates above a certain percentage.  I know in Massachusetts its against state law to lend money with over a 6% interest rate or something like that while Deleware and other states can go up to 30%.

An even better thing to do is to get the return envelope, send it back but scotch tape the back of the envelope so that it takes at least 3 minutes to get it open and on the inside just put in a piece of paper and write "THANKS, BUT NO THANKS" on it.

PBR...

JT thankfully alot of people are supporting the owner of geno's you have a few chowderhead aclu types but most are actually supporting him.....and as they say there is no such thing as bad press i wonder how his sales are doing since this has been all over the national news

Brilliant!!!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

The big CC areas:  Nevada, Iowa, Utah, and Delaware.  Favorable lending laws is the big reason.

JT has been racking up a lot of miles but on an interest free deal till March 2007.
