I hear Ortiz jumped up on the soapbox that SI gave him AGAIN this week to rip the Twins.  Well he was a bum in MN.  Always injured, never produced for an entire season.  Hindsight is 20-20 but the Twins did the absolute correct thing at the time to let him go via free agency.

LD: You and your Boston cronies are cordially invited to the new ballpark (thanks fins, football is played in stadiums, baseball in ballparks) when it opens up.  Remember Minny is Miller light territory.

KR: Just remember last night.  Kubel arrived.  He is gonna be in our lineup for the next 10-15 years.  I saw him smash balls all summer during my internship down here and can say firsthand that the kid is a 5 tool player.  Red Sox will be our B!ches in 2010.  Liriano, Santana, Mauer, Morneau, and Kubel...

Too bad the Twins will only be able to afford 2 of them....

Lets think about this though, if the sox had a 200 million payroll like the yankees they would still have Damon and Pedro.  Am I right or am I right?

PBR...

how 'bout ...... establishing the PIVOT FOOT

At least Ortiz is no longer starving out in Beantown.

1997:

2004:
KR did you gain any weight from Age 21-30?  Thought so...

His stats aren't starving too much either:
1997-2002 with MN
AB - 1477
R - 215
H - 393
2B - 108
HR - 58
RBI - 238
AVG - .266
HR/AB - .04
RBI/AB - .16

2003-2005 with BOS

AB - 1631
R - 292
H - 484
2B - 126
HR - 119
RBI - 388
AVG - .296
HR/AB - .07
RBI/AB - .24

Everybody says Ortiz was a bust with MN, but:

1.  He wasn't making jack sh!t, and he was pretty much a nobody.  His numbers were pretty good for what he was being paid.
2.  He was young.  He was 21-26 with MN.  A lot of players don't even get out of the minor leagues until then.
3.  His final year with MN his stats were:
AB - 412
R - 52
H - 112
2B - 32
HR - 20
AVG - .272

He was on ther brink of coming into his own in his last year with the Twinkies.  Don't take your poor management decision and try to say it was a good decision because he never did anything there.  And don't resort to the steroids issue with him.  He's never been an athletic specimen of any kind, he's a fat happy DH who does nothing but hit the crap out of the ball.  Sour grapes.

Garnet

how about we get back to the Babes of World Cup?

Jonny Utah

Good idea Garnet.  Heres some more Hazel Mae for ya.

'gro

Looks like Ortiz went through the same transformation 'Gro went through... Steroids? no. McGriddles? bingo.

Believe it or not the 'Gro has some English blood in him (mamaGro born there) but if this is all the UK has to offer then 'Gro will never cross the pond.

I'm only to 23 (24 next month if ya wanna send a card), but I've lost about 25 lbs since then. Most of that had to do with not drinking beer as every meal and not eating Gary's Pizza every Thurs, Fri, and Sat.
Also Mrs Kr's interest in working out daily has definitely helped.

I'm also not getting paid millions a year to play a game.

I gave evidence why Ortiz wasn't on the 'roids. He, Manny, and David Wells are among the last people I would suspect of being on the juice.

For the Twins, letting him go was more of a money issue than a management issue. They could see the writing on the wall that said they wouldn't be able to afford him much longer. Such is the drawback of being a small market team with a small market budget playing in a horsesh*t stadium.

+k to all for the Women of World Cup pics. KR could learn to like this soccer thing.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Jonny Utah

KT, ill tell ya what.  Why dont you take Wally Syzerback back and well call it even.

Gro, Ill give ya a NC-17 one......

Touchdown Tommy

Gro,

TDT saw that pic of the Asian blowing the soccer ball and thought similar naughty thoughts.

TDT's Official Rankings of Hot Babes WC 2006:

1. Brasil (these girls are rediculously exotic looking and love to do the horizontal mambo)
2. Italians (dark olive skin and smokin bodies)
3. Swedes (blonde hair blue eyes will NEVER get old or tiresome)
4. Germans (large boobs and they dig Americans)
5. USA (these girls are obviously a little crazy and adventuresome, so always remember AGASAP)

Chasing MILFs since '82...

'gro

Garnet, a little NSFW reminder would of helped on that.

but thanks for restoring hope
