Rt Rev -

The only guy on Hobart's side who played like a top 25 player was Mizro.  At least the D rose to the occasion in the 4th quarter.

This week we have WPU - let's hope we see a better effort vs. the NJAC than we did vs. the CC.

True dat.

The Rev hopes this week gave our boys a little wake up call.

NNR won nothing this weekend because sportsbook was down... NNR is pissed because he had 2 4-gamers pinned....

NNR is really excited about the big 3 LL being all in top 25, even though the Union loss was disheartening... Springfield sounded pretty good but 4 passes for 100+ yards... come on boys

Big ups to Tom A. on passing Beebe on all time rushing list
Anyone notice how none of the kids from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were even a little bit cool... Where was the athlete who pile drives wonka into the chocolate river??? Coulda done sooo much more with that "classic"

NNR-

Sportsbook down??  Come on dood....you have to come up with a better excuse than that.  Reg was hitting them up all weekend.

A couple comments on the Union - Springfield game.

I always felt that former Springfield QB Ryan Sylvia was the best wing-bone QB I had ever seen until I watched Chris Sharpe on Saturday night against the Dutchmen.   Sharpe has gamebreaking speed, makes people miss in the open field and he can actually throw the ball and hit a receiver in stride.  Other then Sharpe, whom Union could not defend, Union did a reasonable job defending Springfield's full back and wing backs.

Angilletta was truly missed by the Dutchmen, particularly on 3rd down.

Union's inexperienced O-line was OK, but Marotti was under a lot of pressure in the passing game, something that just did not happen last year.

How do you think the U is going to take the rest of the season?...were they pissed?  is there still hope?

I only ask this because when I was a junior coming off a really good seas0on, we lost our 1st game to plymoth st. and ended up with the "black sheep" of RPI records in a time when we were a .700+ team for years before and years after.

Reg,

Union was certainly not pleased after the game.  I am sure they felt that they gave the game away with turnovers, key penalties that kept Springfield drives going and a notable failure to score a possible game-tieing TD when they had a 1st and goal with under 3 minutes left.

They can react in 1 of 2 ways: blame each other for the loss or kick it up a notch and take it to 2-0 Muhlenberg next Saturday.

Now that the undefeated season is off the table, the Dutchmen should be thinking about getting better, stringing together some wins, staying in the LL title chase until they meet the Bart and RPI on the last two weeks of the season, and hoping that Angiletta is ready to play some football in 4-5 weeks.

Andy # 39 -

The entire Hobart family misses you buddy.

Angiletta broke his collarbone in the preseason scrimmage vs Brown which I understand Union lost 7-0.
