Tags would like to report a Level 8 over the Thanksgiving holiday. Evidently Robby & Tags tried to finish off a bottle of crown, followed by three misc. shots (none of which Tags remembers taking).

Probably the worst experience Tags has ever had.

Mrs. Tags was not pleased with this showing, and has "strongly suggested" that Tags does not drink on Xmas eve so he can at least eat dinner with the family.

And where was FR's invite for this extravaganza?  It's been years since he even hit a Level 2 because of weekend priorities over the last few years.  He feels like he's hitting 'gro and LD "geek status" now.  He needs help -- someone pass him a bottle.

Tags would have gladly given you 4 to 5 levels... bad deal.

Geek Status is way cooler than what Tags experienced.

some meatballs, a little chianti (take the bottle of chianti home for a candleholder...) and watch alcohol work its magic...every holiday party is the same...u have the 2-3 people who get absolutely trashed and throw up ....and you have the 6-10 people who hook up w/ people from the office and either hope their spouses dont find out or dont care or the other is the recent college graduates who hook up and have no idea what to say to each other the following day in the office...

I work for a non for profit, which is losing money so there is not a lot of new hires... and it will be relativly small compared to some of these parties... the funiest thing is to see who calls in sick the next day...

So I get on a plane bound for Atlanta out of Boston and a big dude with his girlfriend sit down next to me.  

Guy is 6'4" or so and 260+.  He has on a fleece jacket with a UC football logo.  I ask him what UC stands for and lo and behold he says "Union College".  We talk for a while... he played for Union 2002-2005 OL as a 4 year starter.  Tell him I follow RPI closely.  He says "we are getting some of the engineering students that would have gone to RPI"

Not sure if the above is ine of the recruits he was talking about!

Newswise — The classic holiday song "I'll Be Home For Christmas" is 65 years old and its enduring popularity is good news for St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York – the school receives a share of the royalties every time the song is played or performed.

One of the song's composers, Kim Gannon, graduated from St. Lawrence in 1924; he also wrote the University's alma mater. Gannon passed away in 1974 and his will stipulated that St. Lawrence receive 30 percent of the royalties from all of his compositions after his wife's death. His widow, Norma Allen Gannon, St. Lawrence Class of 1925, passed away in 2000.

So far this year, the University has received over $27,000 in royalties, and expects that the total will exceed $30,000, because December's totals have not yet been included. New versions of the song have been recorded and released by artists including Tony Bennett, Sheryl Crowe, Rascal Flatts and Brian McKnight. The first to record it was Bing Crosby, in 1943.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) states that song is among the top 25 holiday songs receiving radio airplay over the past five years; it comes in at Number 14 on this year's list. While it's been recorded by over 300 artists, the most popular version on radio is by Amy Grant, according to the organization.

A very popular composer during the "swing era," Gannon received three Academy Award nominations for his work. Of all of his songs, however, none is as popular as "I'll Be Home For Christmas."
