JT saw Marley and Me this weekend.  Good movie, stayed pretty true to the book, but the end is a tough watch for dog lovers.   JT would take a "bad" dog over most people.  Highly recommend, but maybe not for young kids who have never seen a pet put down.  Some little kids in the theater were truly shocked.

on pbr's must see list as the book and story are based on people that live 15 mins away from pbr

JT got misty at the end of both the book and movie.  MJT never read the book, but she was misty too.  Didn't help that the lady next to JT was gone... sobbing... blowing nose etc.,

Highly recommend the book too.  JT's has some good dogs in his life, including those that were labeled "bad" by other previous owners.  Since JT doesn't believe in leaving a dog home alone all day, he hasn't had one in a while.  Maybe with kids in the future, we'll get one or two.

LD11 also saw Marley and Me.  Really good movie, but then again, LD11 is into chick flicks.  Pretty much almost exact to the book, but even though you know what's coming, they did it well.  May have even shed a tear or too...haha

Only gripe is not enough scantily clad Jennifer Anniston.  That's all she's good for anyway right?

She looks good... maybe better at 39 than in her 20's.  Yoga seems to do her body good.

On another note...It was painful watching the NFL games this weekend.  The Patriots would have beaten all of them handily.  Kinda sucks.

Pats vs. Ravens would have been a good one.

Agreed.  i think the Ravens are the only team that played this weekend that have any remote chance of the Super Bowl.

What is going on at BC, they give coach Jags an ultimatum that if he interviews with the Jets he is gone.

I can undersatnd BC circling the wagons, especially if Jags gave some kind of commitment (even if it was oral) about staying long term.  BC's AD does have a commitment to protect the school and hence the program...however, how they are handling this does not seem very professional or classy....

I don't know about Jags' contract, but BC is notoriously low pay (lowest in the ACC).  The guy that left for NC State doubled his salary.  It may have changed since then.

They guy made 1.5MM last year....is he going to make more with the Jets?  Mangini made 2.5MM with the Jets...but that has to be one of the worst head coaching gigs in the NFL...

I'd take the 1.5MM in a cushy college job,  especially one in which the school is commited to being competitive....

I would hate to see Jags go.  I think it is difficult for a great college coach to be a good NFL coach, but this guy has been NFL material.  I think it is easier for an NFL caliber coach to be successful with a college team however.  Let's face it, this BC job is a stepping stone for him to go to the NFL.  I don't think the Jets would be a good fit for him though.  I'd like to see him somewhere like Detroit or Seattle, where there is a ton of talent, but no real direction.

Jets have talent.  QB is a question now that Cassell is going to franchised.  JT thinks Clemens has potential, but hasn't played enough to prove himself.  However, known quantities like Cassell are usually a better option.

Wonder if Chris Simms will surface from under "Chucky" as a free agent.  I mean the guy lead them to the playoffs.  He hit the receiver with the winning TD pass right in the hands, only to have it dropped.  He was playing well the next year, until he was hit and ruptured his spleen.  And he continue playing a quarter with th injury.

JT thinks he's a solid starting option for the Jets, Detroit, and others.

Im pretty sure Jags does not make 1.5 million.  I had heard it was a million after making around 800K last year.  I had also heard that after last season Jags' agent went to BC and asked for a raise and BC gave it to him.  I think 1 million a year would put him around the top of the ACC.

I think Jags is a great coach also and should stay at BC but.....

-He had Matt Ryan last year (an O'brien recruit)
-Most of his defensive stars this year were O'Brien recruits.
-They have probably the worst QB situation in the NCAA right now and maybe Jags sees the writing on the wall for the near future?
-I had also heard Jags does not like the whole recruiting aspect to coaching college football.
-It also seems to be common knowledge that Jags would probably not get the Jets job anyway?
-It seems like this whole thing is all comming down to an oral agreement Jags gave BC in staying for 5 years plus BC gave him a raise.

I still dont see how BC wins in this thing by giving the guy an ultimatum like that.  Word is that either Logan, Spazziani, or Bicknell Jr. would take the head spot if Jags leaves.
