Coldest KS ever felt was when the Fish surfaced through the Polar Ice in November one year.  We were not that far from the magnetic pole and found a polyanna and surfaced through it.  KS went up to the bridge as lookout and got to be first to see the ice along with Mr. Rudder the OOD.  The temp was -30 something with about a 20 knot wind.  Even with full foul weather gear we were only allowed 15 minutes exposed at a time.  The "Doc" broke out the medicinal brandy that day on the Cap'ns orders.

Second coldest ever was Saranac Lake NY when visiting KS brother one winter.  Wind chill was about -70 that weekend.

umm...I was on Pluto once...and it was -450....and...yea....

JU's uncle was in the Navy and told me that crossing the artic is one of feats that every sailor must do in his carreer.  You even get a placque when you do it.

KS and his older brother are both bluenoses.

Sweet!  Now we can replace Susquehanna on the schedule with a real team like Salve Regina.

Nice D3 mention in the Boston Globe today....

'Matt Patricia, linebackers coach - Patricia may be the next in the procession of coaching prodigies nurtured by Belichick. The 34-year-old joined the Patriots staff in 2004 as a coaching assistant and has been a quick riser. After one season as assistant offensive line coach, the former Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute offensive lineman became linebackers coach in 2006. This season, when Pees spent two games in the coaches' booth, Patricia was on the sideline relaying the defensive calls. Patricia also received credit from inside linebacker Jerod Mayo, the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year, for spending extra time in the classroom with Mayo.'

Dear Matt Pat,

What's it like to finally coach a LB that is younger than you are?

That's just how the LLPP rolls.

whats this musical chairs? 2010 in the njac and maybe back into the mac in 2011? susquatch is still going to get their lunch money stolen and get a smackdown at recess on the playground in this league. dickinson, muhlenberg, moravian, ursinus, et al will deliver beat downs as usual to them....in reality looks like an economic decision which in these trying times pbr can see why they did this

The sasquatch had a few good wins in the LL and some talent (the RB comes to mind) they showed up more than Coast Guard did in their LL stint. Coast Guard?

Definitely will make for easier/cheaper travel. Gettysburg and Dickinson are short drives, Juniata's not too far. Most opponents will be in a three-hours radius.

and thanks 'gro. I'd +k you if I could.

yes, and now the LL better hope WPI sticks or we're in trouble...don't forget, we need 8 teams for an AQ. The travel to the Grove was a biyatch and RT never thought they were a good fit anyway because of those tough logistics..RT is sure that whoever pays SLU and WPI's travel bills will welcome the news.

Susquenna has become the Ronnie James Dio of D3 football w/ their conference moves (ie, RJD did short stints as front man for Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and Elf)

Would be nice to pull in a TCNJ (from the NJAC) or a Hartwick ....they have enough of an academic profile to match the rest of LL and would be manageable travel.

Or, yet again, we revisit the concept of a NYS super-conference for FB (E8 sand LL, sans Springfield, KP, Susq and WPI)) with 2 AQs. Would look like this

"Dirty Apple Private Snotty School Conf"

West                                         East
Rochester                                RPI
SJF                                          Union
Hobart                                    SLU
Alfred                                       Hartwick
Ithaca                                       Utica
