More happy news:

wtf....

Although, RT only shops at Best Buy so it doesn't hit too close to home. On one hand, RT is sympathetic to the 30,000 people who will lose jobs (although the majority are unskilled hourly retail workers who should be able to find similar work elsewhere) but on the other hand, RT views this as capitalism at work...it's a hard pill to swallow but our country's economic model is based on survival of the fittest (or most profitable).  Kind of funny how congress chooses who they will bail out and who they won't. For example, throwing money after all the American automakers and their old plants and 2nd rate technology & managment is questionable at best, insane at worst. RT says let capitalism work itself out with them as well....time to let Chrysler die like it should've in 1982. Time to force a turn-of-the-crank in technological development!!

Now back to more important things:

Another LL school should add football.  Vassar, Skidmore, Clarkson... who's it gonna be?

you ever seen the doodz at Skidmore?...not really fitting the football profile. Same thing w/ Vassar. Soccer, baseball, and hoop is about the most they can muster. Out of those 3, Clarkson has the only real hope of adding a football team...they have alot of similarities to RPI except worse location (yes, believe it or not, something is worse then Troy), less money, and fewer students. They're alot like RIT..who dropped football in the mid 70s (Tom Coughlin of the NY Giants was their head coach oddly enough)

QuoteWow... I genuinely like and respect our LL opponents, didn't realize the feeling wasn't mutual

Not sure that is that attitude pervades all LL posters.  Your running back is a class act.  Besides being a talented kid I witnessed him come up to few RPI players after they had gotten beaten pretty soundly last year and congratulate them on a good game.

So its 9 degrees in Boston right now, which isnt that bad because there is no wind (And JU has to work ouside for part of the day).  But looking at the map it looks like its -18 in Burlington, Vt. -34 in Northern Maine, and -38 (!) in Minnesota!.

What does -38 actually feel like?

That was northern Minnesota -- it was "only" minus-20 here this morning.

Minus-38 I have felt. The moisture in your nostrils freezes the minute you step outdoors. You spit and it freezes before it hits the ground. You pray that it's not windy. If it is and you have to walk into the wind, you best turn around and walk backwards so it's not in your face. You feel your face tighten and it helps to blink a little more often so your eyes don't dry out. A scarf, wrapped tightly over your face, is a necessity. And it's deadly quiet, because nobody else is out there.

You only need seven for an AQ, BTW.

I know the "nerdbowl" was laughingly suggested but MIT should be a real possibility.

Sure they are a bit remote geographically from most of the rest of the LL but they matchup better with the LL than the NEFC on the admissions front.  Union, RPI, WPI and MMA are not that far StL is far for everyone and Roch and StL are obviously every other year.

They certainly would take their lumps initially in the LL but MIT vs. WPI makes more sense than MIT vs Framingham State  or Westfield from an admissions standpoint.

Another observation.. these movements by member schools do not happen in a vacuum.  This had to be rumored or in the works for a number of months.  Given the precarious AQ status of the LL I assume there have to be some conversations re: a replacement or league merger of some type.

Also noticed on the D3 site that the open date that corresponds to the Susq game last year has Alfred as an option.  Can you say rematch?

Totally agree with the MIT thoughts......they are totally atrocious though.....there would be a huge separation from them to even MMA or the Larries.
