new info on the airplane in the hudson...

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/01/19/hudson.plane.folo/index.html

Kind of makes you wonder if the plane sustained damage in this other incident that led to dual engine failure. What is sooooo freaky is that RT was talking to a buddy who's a commercial airline pilot for Delta the night before this happened...and we were discussing the odds of double engine failure and a plane's chances for survival depending on the altitude when it happened. The dude's comments were that a double engine failure is "almost impossible". WTF...it freaked me out seeing that the next day.

when you combine these new facilities along w/ the quality of education, it would be a travesty if RPI isn't getting some of the top recruits in the Northeast who fit the profile.

The committment to the facilities is obviously there, and it should help bring in the kids. Much better sales pitch then back in the day when I was given a tour of '87 gym's weightroom (aka dungeon).

But have recruiting budgets and manpower been increased? That will still be very necessary to bring in talented players.  It also helps to buy kid's mom a new house or their dad a new tractor.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin

I think the key for RPI (And all similar d3 schools) is to be able to give out that financial aid.  I've heard that many of the top schools in the country have not had much of a problem having many kids pay that full 40-50K a year in tuition. That hurts the middle class families in the world that could never afford that.

Word is the RPI Stadium will be open for Sept. 12 Home game vs. as usual Endicott.
But preseason camp will be down on Anderson and 87 gym.  Coaching staff is not moving up to new stadium until end of 2009 season.  As of first of year football still has less offices and meeting areas in new stadium and locker room does not hold entire team.

He recruited me heavily at WPI.  He was a pretty good guy.  Good for him!

hmmmm...lots of smoke (where smoke theres fire...) that chucky gruden is going to be named the next HC of notre dame and the extremely overrated round mound of rebound weis will be dumped right after LOI day....(classy ND move not allowing recruits to bail after the coach that recruited them is canned)

Is Gruden really a step up over Weis?  That is an expensive dumping.  JT was thinking one more year for Weis to go a minimum of 10-3 with a major bowl win, else throw major bank at Urban and allow Meyer some special admits.

EDIT: +k to joseph lowry hilarious ending to the  benediction

any time I see the word bennediction, I think of my old uncle argyle

Uncle Argyle: Did the priest give a poetic benediction? "The Lord bless thee and keep thee...?
Young 'Gro: It was in Latin.
Uncle Argyle: You don't speak Latin? Well that's something we shall have to remedy, isn't it?
