Where is my damn K? How did I go from 20 to 17 in three hours? I only swore twice!

Got your back, too, dl.  I hear the President is considering a karma bailout after he gives interviews to every international news station discussing why we love all foreign nations, especially Middle Eastern ones (all while watching our economy continue to fail without an explicit plan).  Yet, I'm glad Congress found time to vote on the important DTV delay yesterday, as that is obviously the most pressing issue the country is facing during their third full week back on the job.

I'm tempted to run for Gillibrand's seat since I'm from Saratoga County and still am domiciled at my Ballston Spa address for voting purposes.  It's a traditional Republican area in which Sweeny, Gillibrand's predecessor, screwed up right before the election in 2006, handing her the win.  Then, she runs in a complete Democrat sweep in 2008 and wins again (having done nothing in two years).  Her selection was completely based on the idea that she probably would lose anyway in 2010 -- and Paterson didn't want to take a safe seat elsewhere and make it vulnerable.  The whole thing just turns my stomach lately -- and honestly, I would've had a problem with it if a Republican did it, too.  It's time for ACTION in Congress -- not more inaction, especially in the Senate, but also in the House.

So, LLPP, I am officially announcing my 2010 candidacy for the House seat in the 20th District of New York here where my heart lays -- in the LLPP.  Can I count on your support?

PBR...

Frank you can count me in.  And I might have some advise too.

There is this woman who lives in JU's hometown that just ran as an independent against Barney Frank and another Republican (can't remember his name) in the last 4th Congressional District election in Massachusetts.  She has/had ZERO political experience at any level of government.  She has been unsuccessful for town selectmen, and a bunch of other local offices.  Without slandering the woman, you can see what she is about by reading any of her pieces on the right side of her webpage.

http://www.susanallenforcongress.com/

Now, this woman actually got on a stage and had debates with Massachusetts' US rep Barney Frank!  She had a legitimate part in the election!  I mean, was a very important election nationally!  She probably got less than 1% of the final vote, but the fact remained that she had her voice heard on a statewide level.

Now Im not saying you should be like this woman, but I am saying that ANYONE can get themselves into this process if this woman did it.  There are probably two things you need to do.

-You would have to probably be an independent if you want to be one of the finalists.  I know nothing about the 20th district of NY, but I can assume that there are local pols waiting for their chance to run for this seat.  Running as an independent might not be the best for you politically though in the future if you seriously want a career in politics.

-All you need is 1,000 signatures with addresses.  I saw this woman on street corners having people sign her petition.  Granted, Brookline is probably one of the most liberal wackjob places in the country with a higher population to sign random petitions, but it can be done in Saratoga.

Good luck Frank, and I look forward to the "LLPP Stakes" at Saratoga in the summer of 2011!
