So it is the opposite of Boston.  Anyone who lives/grew up within a 100 mile radius of the city line will tell you, " I live in/am from Boston."

Kinda like everyone who wears a Yankees cap has gold chains, a line beard, backwards hat, Yankee Jersey, pants too big, and talks as if they were in the mafia.  Didn't realize NYC stretched all the way to Syracuse...

Ode the the Chin Strap
Dogg the worst is here in upstate where you have the pathetic Mob wannabes. As an italian american a few things pain me: Level 1: When other italians where their gold chains (out in the open), spike their hair, and talk as if they have had "actual contact" with anyone connected, plus they kknow everyone and I mean everyone in the Capital District so that makes them "Very Italian". Level 2: Dudes with blond hair and who wear wife beaters with gold chains and hair covereted with dep, whose accent varies from a NYC type sound to a homeboy sound all kind of mixed in one, live in rotterdam and drive an I-ROC Z. Needless to say when I see an example of either level (which is everyday here) I want to crawl in the fetal position and suck my thumb. Level 1 and 2 offenders are bad news.

Like this guy?

That would be my boy Dogg! He's either ridin the IROC or the Neon with a fin with the flag hangin from the rear view. Damn he is intimidating!

Although I'm rarely (if ever) over here on your LL board (not that I don't like you guys because that's not it at all :) - guess I just spend most of my posting time over on our MIAA board), having just seen that Susquehanna is leaving your conference for the Centennial Conference in 2010, where does that leave your league for the AQ?  What options do you see at potential solutions to this situation?  If you have already discussed this on your board, I missed it and my apologies (although I went back 2-3 pages yet did not see any commentary).  Thanks in advance for your opinions.  I hope things work out for your conference in that regard - I'm sure it will eventually.

We still have SLU, MMA, UR, UC, RPI, Bart, and WPI so we are fine for the auto bid. Susquehanna is just going to get its you know what handed to them in the CC as they did here in the LL (although I give them props for a much better year in 08) so I don't think anyone will miss them. Also the travel there I am sure was annoying for all. I have yet to hear anything about a new potential member. Personally I would love to take SJF from the E8 or some other high end successful program (academic and athletic) that will take the usual three headed monster and add a fourth. I also think this may be an opportunity for the LL to find a member that will increse the overall conference strength in relation to the national picture.

dlippiel:

Thanks for the follow-up and comments/discussion.  I guess I mis-counted on the remaining # of schools in your league, so as you say, the AQ is stable.

Time for a random video of the day......

JU:

Good grief!  I guess that video is just another example that proves the old saying..."they haven't got them all locked up yet!" ;D ::) :P  Holy cow! :D ;)  Nonetheless, your post of the video is a nice "chuckle" at the end of busy week for many on these boards I'm sure! (that is, of course, before everyone goes/went on to their other "fun" activities away from the workplace for the weekend!)

Gro learned some things today.

The Albany Firebirds are back (as a AF2 team), where's touchdown Eddie Brown?

Tom Arcidiacono is on the roster

That wasn't SF....
SF is no sniper.

SF says lay $$ on Arizona tonight... especially with them getting 7 points.  Plus being a Cincy resident, SF HATES ****tsburg and Big Ben.

I know SRT may disagree with me but if Journey is playing they MUST have  Steve Perry (SP) to make that sweet 80's journey sound. I know I know many say that the new singer sounds good and even a lot like SP BUT to me Journey without SP is like Bartles without the James.......pointless! Anyway pulling for those Cards here today. dlippiel's Superbowl party in 2009 now has only a few wings, veggie chilli, and no alcohol. If I bumped into me now 10 years ago I would seriously kick my own ass!

labart96

RIP to SP.  The new kid isn't too bad.  How can you not like "Don't Stop Believin?"

TGP is torn.  Grandpa TGP was born in Chester, PA and his bros worked at US Steel back in the day.  Still, TGP always likes an underdog and AZ aren't too far from SoCal.

Would be something if the Chicago St Louis Phoenix Cardinals of Arizona became the SB XLIII champs!

labart96

Great SB.

More proof that when you have a tournament, you get a legit champ.

Great game by both clubs.
