Dude we need some more attendance at games! SJU 11,000+ I would love to see that at a Union game!!!http://www.d3football.com/

True dat.  RPI needs to market the football program the entire capital district or that brand new 4,500 seat stadium is going to look re-god-damn-diculas with 1,000 fans in it.

The shoes game shouldn't be a problem, but the engineers may even have to (dry heave) partner with Union with a cross town rivalry campaign to increase regular season attendence at both schools for all other games.

"Who's side R U on?"

look, I just made that cheesy ass slogan up, see how easy that was? Somebody put that on a billboard.

RPI Sucks?  Union Swallows!

KS is waiting for Verizon to offer Fios in his neighborhood in Jersey City.  KS checks about once a month, usually when paying the phone bill.

KS is tired of the same thing as PBR but also with Comcast billing.  Twice in the last year comcast has cut the cable because we didn't pay or so they claimed.  KS called up and spoke to billing, billing said the bill was not paid.  KS gave them the payment confirmation number, rep looks up, says Sorry, you did pay.  KS then gets credited for time of disconnect cable.  KS is tired of this, this should not happen.

I have been using the FIOS package for over a year now.  The experience has been trouble free and top quality.  I have fewer movie chanels due to the package I chose but I do get other stations that Cablevision does not carry.  The kicker is I pay about $50/month less for FIOS than IO triple play.

exactly...pbr is swinging 45/month savings...a coworker had his cable offer to pay his cancellation fee and offered him a channel lineup that he currently had w/ verizon for 70/month cheaper and locked in the price for 2 years. incredilbe deals and savings right now from both companies to be had, just get a google email acct. for free so you dont have to worrow about constantly switching email addresses and there are some huge savings to be had....

More and more people are ditching cable TV and keeping just a broadband connection. Many shows/movies are available on the internet through legit (hulu, itunes, network websites) and not so legit (bittorrent) services.

I agree with the movie packages anyway.  I have HBO only (or the 10 HBO channels anyway) and it kind of sucks.  I think I saw a better variety of movies when I had just 1 HBO in 1991.  Now all 10 channels just show 4 movies.

Garnet curious about your quality issues and contract situation with Verizon. Seriously trouble free? Mdlippiel and I are looking into switching to Fios in an attempt to shave off some $ from our monthly bill for 3 in 1 w/ Time Warner. Did you have to sign a two year contract like with the phones? If so do they jack the rates after the two years. Thoughts from anyone on this would be appreciated. Time Warner has a ****ing monopoly here in the Capital Region. They do show some solid local sports though and dlippiel doesn't know if he would want to lose that. We are also considering getting rid of the landline (because we always use our cell phones) and only keeping internet and TV. Just looking to give less to the man thats all.

Regulator

If you can ditch the land line, start there or move to vonage.  Also, it can't hurt to call TWC and just ask them, I'm thinking about switching to the dish or fios, are there any retention plans available to keep me a happy customer.  Last time I did that, I saved like $30 bucks. (I did it a year earlier and saved another $25)

Personally, I could care less about anything premium channels besides HBO....don't waste your $$

What kills me more than anything is the 2 HD boxes with DVR...I think they're like $10 each.

The Rev lost his job at the airport today.  No chance in hell The Rev can earn the same kind of cabbage at another job in Yuma, so he is bailing out.

The Rev is headed back to his old stomping grounds in South Korea.  Things are ugly there, too, but at least The Rev won't be paying taxes.  We're talking a 50% cut in pay.  Considering that a) the Rev will work a lot fewer hours, b) no income tax or payroll deductions, etc., c) free housing,  d) probably lose weight on the korean diet of kimchi and rice, and e) will once again be surrounded by Korean chicks, The Rev is OK with the trade-off.  Especially e.  The desert is dry in more than one way, boys.

The only catch is that the Rev needs to be there and ready to start by March 16.  The Rev doesn't know about you guys, but it's tough to get my stuff sold (or packed up and shipped off) and house leased in a couple weeks.  Also, The Rev plans to drive his car and few worthwhile worldly belongings back to Norwich, NY from Yuma, AZ (about a 4 day trip of non-stop hauling ass).

Didn't know it was going to happen like this or be so quick.  Darn.  Guess The Rev won't be seeing you at the Hobart v RPI or Union in 2009.

Damn Rev..that's big news! You seem to have found enough positives in it to make RT think that you're aren't agonizing over the move. The Korean chics seem like a blessing to you...although is that enough to outweigh a bunch of North Korean missiles that are bearing down on the South??

Anyway, sorry about the job man....it would make sense that it was only a matter of time before the law of averages played themselves out and the economy hit close to home within the ranks of LLPP.

Does this mean any interruption to your presence here??

Rev

Sorry man!  Bman has seen 56000 of his co workers in the same boat the last 3 months

hope all works out in SK...

please note though...with that serious time diff...you just became the Karma police!   no salary, but lots of K love...

Damn Rev I am very sorry to hear about the job situation. It does sound though as if you are seeing positives so keep focusing on those. I have always believed the focus on the positives while realistically acknowledging the negitives will get you through. I wish you the very best and safest trip possible. **** this economy is really hitting hard. Dude we'll be there for ya on the board and talking **** before the RPI/Union game. I expect some serious pics of the South Korean women though in the future. I am very curious about the quality of women in SK and many other Asian Countries. Rev keep your head up man and enjoy your drive back to NY.
