It's crazy, can't understand why adults would do it over & over again.

Tigger just said "God D*** it" ... clear as day on the stream. Ah that's good stuff.

Yep, do people even realize that Happy Gilmore isn't playing and people aren't going to knock in a hole in one on a par 5?

DO NOT get food from Kennedy.  I grew up in Binghamton and got food there a number of times after bevergage consumption made it seem like a quality idea.  You'll run out of toilet paper before your stomach forgives you.  You're better off going to Pepe's, who used to be near the corner of Main and Front (just past the bridge), but now moved somewhere on that walking part of Washington St.

All of this is, of course, if you are heavily drinking and have to eat at 2 am.

From KS experience never get food from any place called Kennedy Fried Chicken in any city.

sorry to barge in....usually on the OAC board.  However, my brother used to live in Binghamton, and we would buy this stuff called "speedy meat" and grill it.   It wasn't bad as part of an overall menu that included malts/hops.  Anyone ever heard of it, does the place still exist?

There's a known place called Lupo's on a grubby part of town that's been around a long time that you might be thinking of (the local grocery store across the street now hosts an indoor flea market my father tells me).  They actually have a speedie festival every year with hot air balloon launches and musical greats such as Eddie Money.

It's a marinade kind of like an italian dressing, vinegar based.  It's really hard to make it like you get it cooked, takes like two days of marinading, then grilling, then softly boiling in more marinade.  Kind of an acquired taste, but I like it. You can typically get it in chicken, beef, pork and venison.

If there is one thing dlippiel cannot stand is the cornholes who yell "get in the hole!" at every swing of the club, especially by Tiger. He could be 565 yards out from the pin and all you ****ing hear is "Get in the hole!" These tools need to get a life and dlippiel is finally glad someone else admits to getting annoyed with it. Many people, even dlippiel's own family looks at him like he is crazy for getting annoyed with this. dlippiel sends his thanks to tags for his post. ;D

Indeed, you are talking about the "Spiedy," which is unique to Binghamton and even warrants a "Spiedy Fest" every summer. A spiedy is a "sub" with beef/chicken/pork marinated in "spiedy" (Imagine that!) sauce, then grilled to perfection, and placed on a sub roll. Binghamton has MANY food places that feature the spiedy...they all come out of the woodwork for Spiedy Fest. Pep has had a Spiedy only once during a visit to see his daughter, so he's not a Spiedy Specialist by any means.

PA,

SF basically lived in Greene NY for 4 months for job training.  Any chance to get away from that metropolis, we headed down to Binghamton... Casey's was choice destination (mainly bc of location).  When SF's lady friend flew up from Cincy, we had to go to Endicott (it seemed) to find anything decent to eat.  The only place SF could find was Russell's SteakHouse.

If Binghamton hadn't been so close, SF would've gone absolutely nuts having to live in Greene.  Heard they just got their first chain restaurant in that town--- a Subway, across the street from the Raymond Factory.

EDIT:  Those bars in Binghamton (the downtown area) were suprisingly packed... we only lost one in my training class --- who was fired for getting a DUI on the road between Binghamton and Greene.

What kind of job were you training for?  Turnip farming?  But wow that brings back some memories as I had to drive through Greene on the way to Ithaca.  Thats the place iwith the two roads going through the middle of town and parking on each side right?  Bainbridge, Sydney, Triangle, Whitney Point, Caroline, Lisle......man what a trip!

I read a book on Rockefeller once and he actually grew up (or was born) in one of those real small towns around there. (richford I just looked up).  I bed Richford looks the same today as it did in 1839.

Same old red house right before you hit the train tracks right at the intersection.  Which town is it where people bring containers to fill up with water when you first pick up 96?  By where they have the Broome County fair.

As a former military officer and Southerner, I and those of us who grew up in the South were taught to address our elders and people in authority with the respectful title of sir or ma'am to honor their dignity as a human being.

Senator Boxer may have relieved the General of any sense of hypocrisy in addressing the Senator as ma'am.

Her being a Senator is a fact.

Her having human dignity worthy of acknowledgment by this courteous officer and gentleman is what she has opened for debate.

Imagine that, using proper manners when addressing someone.  To quote the Duke; "Things are getting regoddamdiculous around here".  KS quesses KS and MKS shouldn't be teaching the Stalkerette to address adults as Sir and Ma'am.

HA...    I was training to sell electric forklifts for The Raymond Corp (owned by Toyota).  They are the biggest employer of Greene.  You're correct about the parking on the sides of the street.  SF thought he was on set at Back to the Future -- only smaller.  Funnier still is the bowling alley (4 lanes -- the bar was larger) and "Airport Bar" just outside of town (had to take a dirt road to it).   The hotel felt like it was set in the 1800s

I'm lucky I was only there for 4 months.
