So JU got shut off (from a bar) for the first time in his life last night.

So JU and MJU go to this afterwork bar/restuarant place near where I live for some dinner and drinks at the bar.  Its a nice place and they always have different kinds of beer that I like.  The redsox were playing so I was planning to eat, and then stay at the bar for a couple beers and then go home.  We get there around 7, eat, and I have a few beers.

I started out with a weinstephener on draft.  Its a heavy wheat beer and is kind of strong but I had only one:

Then I had 3 Wittekerkes, a belgian wheat beer (from the can I should add) and they were really good.  Might be one of my new favorite beers.  A little light for a wheat beer, but very smooth"

Then I have two "Dales Pale Ale", also from the can.  I also liked Dales.  Good solid IPA from the Rocky mountains:

So after the two Dales, its about 9 pm, and we are about to leave.  Its my only night off for the next week so I decide to have one more before I leave.  I live 10-15 minutes away, wasn't too bad to drive, and my wife could have drove anyway as she had only ordered 2 beers.  So I ask the bartender for one more Dales.  I could already tell she was trying to ignore me on the last two drinks I ordered, and so she comes up to me and says something like "errr, well....youve already had six and im not really supposed to...."  So I cut her off and tell her that its my last one, Im not driving and I was paying the bill right after.  So she looks around the bar like someone was watching her and finally gives me my last (and 7th beer).

Is this that much to drink to get shut off at a bar?  And these weren't big beers, they were out of the can.  Granted they were slightly higher in alcohol, but nothing crazy.

I did notice that there was this woman sitting next to me that was writing something down on some paper like a menu or something so she might have been the owner or something and the bartender didnt want to do anything she was told not to do....

I dunno, just was kind of wierd.

U89 drank 7 Dogfish IPA draughts at Redbones last night.....maybe you just can't handle your alcohol....

Ok guys, need some LLPP advice. If you left a company in which you had a 401k, what is the best thing to do with it.

Roll into an IRA?

This is what U89 has done in the past.

Good article today in the Boston Globe about the retiring nantucket football coach.  Its a good read for anyone interested in old school high school football coaches.

pbr has been to countless 'tucket vs. vineyard games...was at the game this year, vito is a legend up there....best food for any game hands down...homemade chowder and burgers cooked to order on the grill behind the concession stand. fantastic atmosphere when all the boats arrive from the vineyard and march thru town to the high school stadium.

PA,

SF basically lived in Greene NY for 4 months for job training.  Any chance to get away from that metropolis, we headed down to Binghamton... Casey's was choice destination (mainly bc of location).  When SF's lady friend flew up from Cincy, we had to go to Endicott (it seemed) to find anything decent to eat.  The only place SF could find was Russell's SteakHouse.

If Binghamton hadn't been so close, SF would've gone absolutely nuts having to live in Greene.  Heard they just got their first chain restaurant in that town--- a Subway, across the street from the Raymond Factory.

EDIT:  Those bars in Binghamton (the downtown area) were suprisingly packed... we only lost one in my training class --- who was fired for getting a DUI on the road between Binghamton and Greene.

That Subway was there when I lived in Greene with my ex in 2005.

The Rev is in San Diego for the night.

What a great town.  Is there a D-III school here?  If not, there should be, and I'd like it to be on Hobart's schedule.

BTW, Dolphin Motel on Garrison St. in Point Loma is the best deal in town.

Your latest post about the Nantucket v VIneyard game atmosphere was full of nothing but good vibes.  Based on your passing comments about the burgers and chowder, The Rev wants to go check it out.

Rev,

Closest D3 football playing school is Chapman University in Orange, CA...  two hours up the 5.

How long are you in SD for?  A buddy of SF's just moved from Cincy to Ocean Beach out there.  SF would love to do the same (originally from Los Angeles).

+K, PBR for the picture and the other crap going on..

Shocktown's best can't even be tried in public. The SCPD Union is stronger than the Teamsters. Apparently Richard Hamilton (head of police union) and his lawyers have more pull than Hoffa did when he was backed by the mob? See what you miss pbr when you only stay in shocktown for a couple days.
