Enjoy the return to CNY and ZpZ.  TGP enjoyed a nice 4th with his old pal, Cpt Morgan.  It was the kids' first time seeing fireworks (and staying up past 10).

TGP is a tired dad but nothing a dip in pool and a couple of advil won't fix.

Otherwise just hoping the Sox will get their collective act together and avoid getting swept by the M's (WTF?!?!) today.

Speaking of Cpts - some LL related news:

RIP Steve Air McNair

No doubt the details of this case will continue to trickle in for some time, but the part that gets me is how the co-renter of the apartment could come inside, walk by 2 people with 5 bullet holes between them, and not notice.

I'm not saying he did it, but it's amazing that you could walk by 2 dead people and not notice. Then he calls his friend instead of 911!  Let me channel my inner Bill Simmons here... you gotta be a pretty damn close friend if you're #1 on someone's "who I'd call if I walked into a murder scene involving a high profile ex-athlete and his side beef" list. You've reached the AC Cowling pantheon of ex-athlete friendships.

Amen, gro... something very weird there.

He actually admitted to seeing her laying on the floor and McNair sitting there AND THEN walking back in and seeing blood...  thats what kinda made me think..

His side beef wasn't shabby... there are pictures on the Daily Tennessean website.

I know who he called.....

If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Clean the ****ing car.

But I think the roomate came home, panicked and then called a close friend to see if there was anyway to cover something up just in case McNair was at fault or something.  I dont think he did anything criminal, but who he called will be on record somewhere, and the real story should come out.

The articles say that McNairs friend called Robert Gaddy, who KS believes, from reading the stories is McNairs former college and pro teammate and one of his closest friends.

I don't know how it is in the rest of the country but I have never seen so much rain in Boston in a 2 month period in my life.  Im not joking when I say it has rained 28 of the last 30 days.  It hasnt always poured everyday, but it is truly amazing.

Here is a pic of U89 trying to drive back to Worcester...

This guy seriously was from Worcester, but why would anyone drive through that?

PBR,

Have you seen the Real Sports update on Lenny Dykstra?  Whats the story there?

Hold the phones SF, that chick was atrocious ( http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Avis=DN&Dato=20090705&Kategori=NEWS01&Lopenr=710006&Ref=PH)... and certainly not worth ruining whatever family thing he had going. Let alone paying the ultimate price with his life.

Bad deal all around.

You guys gotta think your options will be limited, being a MARRIED former NFL star in the same city you played in.... SF thinks that limits the options a bit.  I give her a 7.
