Fox Sports just posted the Steve McNair 911 call.....pretty much the most f'd up emergency call U89 has ever heard.

Not sure who I blame more.....the caller or the emergency operator.

agreed it was messed up, neither one could make a complete sentence. I'll place 60% of the blame on the 911 operator, he's the one that is a trained professional, the other guy just saw his friend dead.

p.s. Gro believes the term "C*Sucker" was invented at Union.

Its sounds like the beginning of the 911 call was cut off and the first 911 call was cut off as well so Im not sure how much we are missing in this call.  As f***ed up as it sounds, I think both sides did an ok job under the circumstances.

In that case, if U89 gets shot, banging some 'strange' in Boston, I hope Utah is not the one who stumbles upon my dying ass!!!!

Just sayin Ive heard a lot of f'd up 911 calls where people don't know what the hell they are doin.  Its tough to get an address out of someone that is as distressed as the caller was.  I also assume that it was a cell phone 911 call because the operator had no clue where the guy was it seems.

But thats also somthing I don't get.  It says another friend first found McNair and the girl, and then called McNairs roomate to come over.  So was that McNairs roomate on the phone who didnt know the address?

Nah... the roomie found them and called the long-time friend, Gaddy, to come over.  Gaddy made the call to police.

He didn't own the apartment...

No, the whole thing sounded like a guy that didn't want to give up information in fear of incriminating someone.
Who called you?
"Wayne"
Do you know Wayne's last name?
"no, I don't?"

I could hear in his voice that he wanted to say it was Mcnair....but he held off.

So, JU....I understand the shock value and think this guy didn't want to say "too much" for not knowing the whole story.

How many times did the operator say, "Where you at?  Where you at?"

Take control of the damned call and act professionally in an emergency.

U89 its not always as easy as it sounds.  These 911 guys have to multiple things at once.  Talk to the caller on the phone, type the call into the computer, dispatch the police, and the fire, and the EMT, write down the important info about the call on paper so they can read it back.

So thats why you sometimes hear delays in conversations during these 9-11 calls.  I also think that down south "where you at?" gets the same message across as saying "were are you?" or "what is your location" up north.

Im not saying the operator was perfect, but yelling at a caller over and over doesn't always get the message across.  You need to be calm and collected.

If you call 911 and the operator says "where you at?", you might be a redneck.  ;D

JU,

What on earth could the operator have been typing with the amount of information the caller gave him?  He didn't say ANYTHING!
Only after the operator pull up his address using the 911 GPS tracking, did he find his location

I agree with U89, you are a professional, get the major reason for calling and current state.

I used to watch Rescue 911 and those operators basically talked normal people through surgery!

Reg and U89,

Im not saying he did the best job.  I just wanted to point out that there are things that we still don't know about.  Like what was said on the original 911 call, and what was said at the beginning of this 911 call.

The first words the dispatcher says on the second 911 call was "hello....hello....".  That leaves me to believe that there was somthing else said before the audio clip that we all hear on the internet.

When someone calls 911 and then hangs up or gets disconnected, thats an actual call in itself.  So when the original call comes in and gets disconnected, the dispatcher might be already dispatching 2 cops to investigate the original 911 hangup.

Also, when dispatchers talk to people that sound distressed, they have to speak clear and slow because they don't want to talk over what the caller is saying.  They know that they might only get one chance to get the acutal location or nature of the call, especially one in which a shooting is involved.  Now it is clear that the caller is distressed, and half the time he is asking people on the street for the location of where he is calling.  The dispatcher knows this and doesn't try to talk to him when the caller is trying to get this information.

And after the caller says someone was shot, and might not be breathing, you then hear another pause by the dispatcher.  This is where he may be typing things in, writing things down, or talking to another dispatcher to send help.

And these 911 operators have to type everything in somtimes before they actually dispatch anyone.  They type in the time, units responding, name of the person calling, number of the person calling, codes for the nature of the calls etc.

I dunno, Ive listened to thousands of 911 calls and I dont think he did that bad of a job.

I read it last night and thought it was pretty funny, Bro.
Honestly, who couldn't see Lenny as that type of guy.  A couple early financial wins and his head is bigger than king kong.  Throw in a couple laptops, a huge mansion, $65k watch and you are watching a guy self implode.

I did have to laugh about this part-
He also seems to relish letting go a long, leisurely fart for the amusement of his employees or showing off his silk tie and saying, "You see this tie? I paid $500 for it" as he rubs it on his crotch and laughs at our embarrassed expressions.

Yeah, Lenny, that's hysterical.....never saw that one coming.

PBR that was fantastic!  I loved the sound effects on each punch.  Was that guy wearing jeans?  The sound effects at 2:50 had me on the floor laughing.  I also heard the word "gringo" in there.  Classic LLPP clip right there.

Also on youtube today is U89's Worcester Academy highlight video....
