Need some LLPP input

If you're out on the town and your spot a group of 5+ guys all wearing affliction t-shirts** (and you're not at an actual UFC fight) where does that rank on the scale of douchebaggery? Rank 1-10 where:

1 =

10 =

** if you don't know what those are, consider your living area a douche free zone

I'd say they rank right up there with this guy...

Gro, the d-bag level would depend on the shirt.

Props to Jim Rice and Rickey Henderson going in next week to the HOF.  Next to Yaz, Rice was the guy JT was afraid of next.  He was a HOF guy when he retired regardless of how many writers didn't like him.  Ted Williams was surly too.

Henderson the best leadoff hitter in the game, bar none.

JT hopes that someday Munson goes in.

OMG, JT and Mr. Ypsi DO agree on something! :o ;D

I'm afraid it probably won't happen.  He was too overshadowed (unfairly, I think) by Johnny Bench and by Carlton Fisk (definitely unfairly, IMO), and died 4 or 5 years too early (well, 40 or 50 years too early, but 4 or 5 in terms of his baseball career).

Roberto Clemente also died way too young, but after 18 seasons his HoF credentials were secure (in fact, he is the only player where they ever waived the 5 year waiting period).

I've always wondered about three others that seemed destined for the Hall.  Lyman Bostock was murdered after only four seasons; Herb Score and Mark Fydrich both sustained career-ending injuries too soon to tell if they had staying power.

Any other players seemingly destined for the Hall that I've forgotten?

SF went to a MMA "fight night" tonight --involving an ex-teammate/coach.  There's quite a bit of those shirts floating around... and then at the bars following the fight (it was 90 min outside of Cincy), it felt like we were still at that MMA event.  Lots of level 7 dbags at the bars wearing these shirts.  SF and friends just chuckle at these people.

Sorry for the edits... SF is quite hammered and couldn't sleep as a result.

About time for Rice, he deserved to get in as soon as he was eligible.

Munson was KS hero, KS still has his number 15 senior league LL jersey.

2 other players destined to get in were Dwight Gooden and  Darryl Strawberry.  White line fever did them in.

JU - I'd put this flock at the 5 level... but what gets me is that these guys go out as a group all wearing the same style of rediculas outfit... where have I seen that before??

Saw the ECAV w/ my own eyes yesterday.  I will miss the atmosphere of '86 and would have loved to see them put turf and continue with that historic venue there but after seeing the new stadium live... all I can say is wow

Have been to college FB stadiums from Neyland Stadium at UT to Several D1AA, D2 and D3 venues.    Quite sure many Atlantic 10 and Patriot league teams would be thrilled to have a facility like this.  Certainly does not currently seat enough for those programs but it is impressive.

As previously stated not sure if they will draw enough fans at first.  Based on past attendance it may look at bit comical initially with let's just say partially filled stands ;).   I'm not sure where RPI is going with their FB program (D2, D1AA?) but this is quite the stadium for a D3 facility.

Based on what I saw (they were spreading the rubber pellets on the field when I was there) the facility will certainly be ready for play on Sept 12.  '86 bleachers were relocated to the visitor sideline also a very cool RPI logo at the 50.  My only visual irritation is the yellow lines on the field for soccer games.

This certainly bodes well for future recruiting and attracting SA's from the the LL, E8, NESCAC, pool as well as those HS seniors considering schools like Bentley, Merrimack, et. al.  possibly even turn some heads of the kids looking at the Ivy's. who may be on the academic/athletic acceptance bubble.

It is pretty damn impressive stim isn't it? dlippiel saw it pre-turf and was taken aback he can't imagine how nice it must look now with turf, logo, etc. Question: Does anyone actually think RPI would consider moving up divisions in FB? dlippiel just can't see it but who knows. This stadium does get one thinking though about the possibilities. dlippiel thinks stim makes a good point with recruiting. It truly is a facitility that can help take a program to the next level.

It's been so long I may be fuzzy on the details of his career, but what about Tony Conigliaro?

The term 'douchebaggery' makes U89 snarf every time he sees it.......

Has anyone seen the show, "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" on MTV?  The terms the announcer uses are hyyyysterical also.  If someone acts like a complete tool, the announcer refers to him as, "Scrotty McScrote" or some other unflattering monicker.  A bunch of tools were doing some douchebaggery dancing and the announcer started naming the dances.....one was, "The dying fish out of water" and another was, "Mr. Sticky Face".....classic stuff which should be enjoyed by LLPP.

JT's favorite players were Munson, Reggie, and Mattingly. JT used to practice Reggie's swing and bat drop for when JT got a hold of one. But he wore # 15.  Still does.

Munson in his prime years was equal or better (certain categories) than Fisk and Bench. And was probably more clutch than both.  He belongs in.

But the best catcher of them all is Yogi, and he was a better baseball man and manager then he may get credit for. He should have been the all century catcher over Bench.  JT is fortunate to see Yogi about once a year at various functions around the area.  What a great guy.  JT is about 1/3 of the way through a new Yogi biography "Yogi Berra: Eternal Yankee".  It is probably the best Yogi book JT's has picked up.  Highly recommend.  Two thumbs up.

That show is basically a televised version of the HCWDB web page.  In fact, it's scary how similar the 2 are. (including the names and terms they use)

U89 has honestly never seen that site before.....fantastic.  Another favorite term of U89's from the MTV show is, "The Helmetless Chinstrap".....classic.
