I think we can all agree (unfortunately) that Kiffin is a douchebag.  The question is will he get some professional maturity before he gets the school put on double secret (NCAA) probation and/or fired?  Will UT continue to struggle to beat Vandy and UK during his tenure?

Gro,

That's cold blooded.  I have a soft spot for Fullmer because he won a nat'l title with Tee Martin (not Peyton Manning, Casey Clausen - the good one, Heath Shuler or Eric Ainge).  I can't blame him for the last few years even though its fault.  The program was starting to turn into a less succesful version of Miami.  That being said, while Alabama hires Saban, UF gets Meyer, Ole Miss gets Nutt and Petrino at Arkansas (all dynamic guys/recruiters/coaches) we get Kiffin?  The AD should be shot.  At least Auburn did worse.

Having lived in TN for a few years I've followed but never really gotten into the Vols. That being said, it boggles the mind that this program can send multiple players to the NFL year in and year out but not win 10 games consistantly. Fulmer's demise was all his own. He had the talent, but got outcoached.

Looking forward to the Lane Kiffin show, I agree with whoever said he'd last no more than 3 years.

EDIT
D1 football bothers gro in general for the completely outdated and moronic bowl system, the countless recruiting scandels, and teams padding their schedule with home games (Vols have 8 this year!) most against cupcakes that they pay half a million to come get monkey stomped.

Two years from now you are going to see a youtube video of a shirtless Kiffin eating petroleum jelly and crying to Rocky Top.

QuoteAnybody hearing or know anything regarding the RPI QB situation? dlippiel is very curious who will attempt to run te engineers shotgun O this season.

Don't think anything will sort itself until later.

They have as candidates among others:

A returning QB, Tim Moran from Syracuse area (central NY POY) who was the back-up last year.

A transfer from Army, Tanner Boucher from Keene NH.  As stated before 6'4" 225 who enrolled in Jan and went through spring camp.

A recruited QB from Hilton Head SC, Michael Hermann who was a PG from Avon Old Farms.  Also big @ 6'6" 220 and was on the NEPSAC All-New England Prep A  team.

As none of them have any significant experience it may be an open competition come the middle of August.

LLPP Fact # 1934.5 Paragraph 8 reads:  The biggest misconception in wedding history is that your guests will want to spend their Memorial Day/Labor Day/4th of July weekend on vacation where you get married.

If you aren't married, write that down.
LD11- Fully agree- "because they can <insert stupid idea no one will end up doing>" here.  IT'S SCIENCE!

PA- Minus 1k for even admitting this faux paus and then trying to tell us how great it was for everyone.

AMEN! the LLPP crew all put in major work hours (except for gro he's got that cushy gig) and most of us get 3 long weekends in the summer to enjoy the outdoors/bbq/consumer massive cold frosty beverages and  we DO NOT want someone taking 1 or more of those away for some wedding that can be scheduled for many other days a year....i.e. see LD's rule reference and reg's thesis on modern day travel...nothing irks pbr more than getting that invitation in the mail and seeing a holiday weekend wedding date...

What response does everyone give in the instance they get an invitation for one of said days.

Do you
-immediately squash it with a "no way are we going to that send them a gift"
-punt by using a "oh man, I wish we could go to that but I was planning on taking you to <insert vaca spot she's been complaining about wanting to go>.
-throw out the invite (i.e. the equivalent of signing your own report cards back in 6th grade)
-come up with a game plan between your significant other to get out of it
-set the rules up front that IF one were to come up, no matter who it is, you're not going
-Forward the person that's getting married this thread

Besides when you hold your wedding on a non holiday weekend it gives the guests an excuse to use a couple of vacation days and have another long weekend, that is not a travel weekend.

Tags would go with the combo of #2 & #4. You can always get the Mrs' attention with that, plus you both have the same excuse... it's golden.

Also, +k to LD for the sig

KS would just go with number 5.

KS dlippiel wishes he had the balls to take #5 but instead would have to opt for a combo of #2 and #4 concurring with Tags. dlippiel is a realist when it comes to my wife. She is the general and dlippiel knows it ;).

Thanks for the info stim, dlippiel appreciates it! As dlippiel looks back upon RPI's past six/seven seasons he sees a quality QB taking snaps each season. Deep down dlippiel has a feeling this will happen again this year. +k thanks stim

Reg has just shown the world how to do a proper Karma Hit.
Tell the guy exactly why your hitting his K and just do it.
No stealth, no secrecy.  Just business.

+K to Reg for modeling proper LLPP behavior.
