"Escheat" is an english common law term.

At common law, it referred to the return of property to the lord when an immediate tenant died.  Today, property "escheats" to the state when the owner dies without a will or legal heirs.

Generally, escheatment refers to real property but it can refer to personal property.

And don't forget the unclaimed property escheatment schedules that all of the state's have.  Three, five or seven years depending upon which state in the union you live, but then again you could still get it back from the state after that just with more work.

To clarify ...(escheatment in terms of financials) Banks are required by law to escheat any financial transaction (by state) for which they can not reasonably discern an owner.  The period of time most banks have is defined by state and can vary...

I think that the 5110 days they had my $2.54 may have exceeded  that by a bit though :)

Regs old neighbor (club promoter) had a serious tiki hut set up that put Reg in the doghouse multiple times.  He had sand trucked in and the tikibar, complete with all you mentioned was right on the water overlooking Ches bay.

Definately sweet setup, if your doing it, make sure you get a couple truckloads of sand, as well.

The thatch roof is really a pain...needs to be re-done every 3 years.

KS just read that Michael Irving and Chuck Liddell will be on Dancing with the Stars next season along with such manly men as Donnie Osmond and the brother of one of the Backside Boys, there was also Kelly Osborne who should be a train wreck and a couple of hot chicks including TO's partner from the superstars.  Wonder if Irving will wear some of those big knot ties.

Greg Paulus named Syracuse starting QB today. Very interesting story on ht eformer Duke Basketball player returning home to the Syracuse area to try and rejuvinate his hometown team. dlippiel feels if Cuse wins more than four games Paulus will have done a fantastic job! http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4406074

By the way Brett the Butt Head is will sign a contract with the Vikings if he passes his physical.
