Didn't mean to scare you!! The Stim has been to Chattanooga several times... a wedding, toured the aquarium, been to Rock City, been to the Choo Choo, up to Lookout Mtn etc.

It's fine.  Like any other metro area it has it's down and out citizens.  Hell if TO can go to school there you know it's happening!

Have a good time.

As Gro said there are some really beautiful surroundings especially if you like to hike.  The Ocoee is pretty cool.  Relax.. Tammy's given up her evil ways.  Think she might even be off the meth.

Ernest was visiting a friend and told him he was looking for a "lady companion for the evening." His friend introduced him to Tammy.

"She came in and the first thing that I spotted about her that just totally attracted me to her is her gap in her teeth," Ernest says. "All my sisters and brothers have gaps, but I don't."

PA hasn't really dealt with homeless people in Atl (only been down here less than two months).  Saw plenty in NYC, but there's something less sad or annoying about NYC homeless people.  Can't quite explain it.

About 10-15 years ago The Rev read that panhandlers in NYC made $36,000 per year on average.  Tax is like the equivalent of making $52,000 before taxes.  If I didn't have to go to work and make as much if not more than the people giving money to me, I wouldn't looks too sad, either.

I feel sorry for homeless/panhandlers in Phoenix because there's no real downtown to hang out and get money from passers-by.  So they are out in the open by exit ramps when it's 110 degrees out.  They don't need money, they need water and a sunbrella.

EDIT: note be careful dont go if your not sure...in all seriousness pbr doesnt surf in anything over 12-14ft. anymore. not in good enough shape and surf enough anymore to handle anything bigger. Know your limits if your not sure dont go as there will be serious rips and impact zones. surf w/ friends or around other surfers in case of trouble. going to be a blast pbr has the guns waxed and at the ready

I'm trying to get out there this afternoon just after low tide.  I think today is the only day i'd survive.  Supposed to be huge this weekend.  Might go for a swim but I doubt the stick will make it out with me after today.  Rips are supposed to be ridiculous too...   If you don't hear from me after this afternoon, I didn't make it.

Although JU does not surf, he did see some surfers in MA the other day up at the beach in Rockport.  From what I heard, the hurricane also pushed some waves into the calm waters of Cape Ann.  Its actually the first time Ive seen some real surfing live.  At least with some waves that actually looked like waves.

Nooga is possibly the southern most "rust belt" city. They've done a good job rebuilding the waterfront but it isn't pretty once you leave that area... kinda like DT Shocktown.

Rev, in Cincinnati, they made the panhandlers pay for licenses to panhandle.  Pretty funny... they have rules about where they can sit and ask for money.  For instance, they aren't allowed to be near the bars on Main Street.  Maybe this was put in place keep the young kids from beating the bums up after they've left the bars?

Karma sniper must be related to the gap-tooth chick in that NPR Article.

+K to the room to offset this dingleberry (not sure if he got any of you, but got SF)

One more day until the LLPP Fantasy Draft...  should be really interesting to see how this goes with 18 teams.

Hey Gro, know anything about Chattanooga?  Taking the wife for a weekend for our anniversary and have a few things planned, but just based on internet info, I've never been there before.

Gro knows a little... depends on your interests. Aquarium, rock city, ruby falls are the main attractions but more suited for kids. Lots of outdoors stuff with mountains, lake/river in close proximity.  Whitewater rafting about 45 min outside of town on the Ocoee river. All the bars/restaurants downtown are all relativeley close on Market street (make sure to get some late night eats at City Cafe). I've heard that the hotels downtown charge an arm and a leg, but it's either stay there, stay in crack city, or stay 20 miles away. Also, if you can deal with the homeless people in ATL than these guys will be no problem.

Send me a PM if you need some specifics.

Gro-

No "you're welcome to stay at my place if you'd like" LLPP peace offering?

What kind of random internet message board host are you?
