Does Union do webcasts?  I'm going to do a cookout and have my family, accountant, tennis team and whoever else I can get to come over for that game.  Trying to spread the Bart loved down here.

Frank "The Consigliore" Rossi (or Frankie Facebook) would probably know.

TGP guesses that ECAC.tv will also be broadcasting the game (probably for ~$7) as well.

So looks like courtesy of back to back 7 pm SJF starts that the daily double is both possible on the 12th and 19th.

Alfred, Hobart and Brockport all play at 1 on the 19th, with Rochester/SJF at 7 pm. Intelesting!

JT was conflicted over Willie Parker vs. Ray Rice.  Flipped a coin took Parker.  If Kenny Britt and Hakeem Nicks can bring camp performance into the season and Greene splits carries with Thomas Jones, JT will have a good bench.  Otherwise JT's bench is a gamble.

Sounds like a real New York/North Jersey-influenced roster you got there.

Its a about half who you may know as a player, and half how the players go in the draft.  Many times JT was watching his board get chewed up while waiting for his next pick.

It's probably more than half how the players go in the draft. The whole game of placing a value on guys and then drafting relative to that value is kinda fun. Sometimes it doesn't impact how you finish a whole lot, but you can still feel like draft day champion. (winning the offseason/preseason = pulling a Redskins)

I'd wait and see about the status of the bleachers at Merrill before thinking about coming to Mayberry.  But if you do make it down, make sure to stop by and get a picture taken with the band!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

JT got to the championship game in LLPP last year and lost to AJ.  With 18 teams and two divisions this year, there should be a lot of close games based upon how the talent is spread out.  Good trades, wire pickups, and sleepers will make the difference.

The attempt is appreciated U89. dlip is gonna work the market and hopefully something will come up.

dlippiel

Saw the Dutch practice today. dlip and Mr. rlip witnessed some good stuff going on at Frank Bailey. One positive was Connelly's arm. He was fireing away out there throwing some well placed passes. Dlippiel had a few thoughts while he was there and thought he'd share:

1.) ****ing defense has to step up this year bigtime. None of this 25 pts per game BS. For the U do have a shot at making some noise with their "O" the D must become consistent. The coverages this season have got to tighten. To many times last year U DB's were getting beat in the flat and on the outside routes. dlip realizes some of this is due to lack of size but the pass D has to tighten.

2.) If special teams repeats last years patterns of inconsistency it will be another long year. Special teams players must follow assignments and take care of buisness. Sloppy coverage will kill the U and is ****ing inexcusible.

3.) The O must chew up clock and keep sustain some drives. U's D got worn out last year as a result of three and outs. Whether it short passes in the flat, Coney and the line chewing up yards, or Connelly finding ways to spread the field, the D needs rest and the coachs need time to make proper adjustments.

4.) Kicking...well kicking...dlip isn't gonna say ****. Kicking was not inconsistent it was ****ing non-existant last season. Please make the extra points!

5.) Union must, must use Jared Gourrier as much as possible. This kid is the real deal (and a fantastic kid) and needs as many touches as possible. Everytime the ball is in his hands there is a solid chance of positive yards and points.

6.) Team is filled with some very positive guys and natural leaders. Players like Cohn and Gourrier need to get this team focused and moving in a positive direction.
Just some thoughts after practice today. Go U!

Unionathletics.com has the pictures up from Media Day.  Connelly is HUGE....that kid did some serious work in the off season which will hopefully pay off.

labart96

Connelly is the "one that got away" from Cragg / Dewall during the 07-08 recruiting season and Hobart may end up paying for it (we're already 0-1 vs. that kid) for the next 3 years.

He's a huge talent.  U89 has heard that he is also throwing the ball very well so far, but the team is not even in pads yet.

Dlip were they in pads today?
