pbr is that a former Linebacker... or The Linebacker... a popular, but rough sports bar on the edge of campus?

In deferance to having to attend a Sat Labor Day weekend wedding (no I don't want to rehash that again) I have been given the OK by the boss to check out them Spicey Boys vs. Bentley Fri night.

Bentley squeaked by a NAIA team last week so I am not sure what to expect.  Sounds funny to even say that Curry might have a shot at this one.  Ask me 6-8 years ago and it wasn't a game I would have expected Curry to be within 40 points.  Bentley has fallen a bit so who knows?

Will dutifully report to the LLPP what the boys who took down Ithaca in '08 look like in '09.

Thanks stim dlip is quite curious about that early season match-up and it will be great to hear from someone who attended how the purple drank did. dlip is hoping they can get a W against Bentley but we shall see.

With Ya SF on Notre Dame. Weis is on the cooker and if he finishes rare he will be an unemployed undercooked NY Strip for Sure!

Tune in Thursday night (Sept. 3rd) at 7:30pm for the second season premiere of the only talk show dedicated to Liberty League college football:

"In the HuddLLe"

This week's show is in a special weekday slot so that we can get Liberty League fans ready for the opening kickoffs this Saturday with analysis and interviews for all eight teams in the League.  So join Frank Rossi and Eric Ren as they review the 2008 season and look forward to the games to be played in 2009 for two hours.  During the show, Frank and Eric will be joined by D3football.com's Pat Coleman to discuss 2009 predictions -- and we will take your phone calls for any questions you may have.

Finally, this season, "In the HuddLLe" will have a better web presence with blogs, news and other league-specific information at http://www.inthehuddlle.com (will go live soon -- currently redirects to the BlogTalkRadio.com page).  So join us in 2009 on Sunday nights, but first join us this Thursday for the season premiere at InTheHuddLLe.com!

dlip will be there listening with bells on!

Dlip... do the bells bleep out the cussing??   ;)

Think dlip needs to give the cussing a rest. dlip figures when it starts annoying him a bit it must be annoying across the board for others. dlip will save it for special occasions now. On my way home from school stopped by for a brief look at the U practicing. Guys look good and very excited. Hope this is a sign for good things to come. Question: Mitch Pfeiffer seemed to be taking snaps when dlip was there. Anyone know whats up? Maybe dlip was just there when Connelly was taking a break who knows. To be honest Pfeiffer looked good but a reg flag flew for dlip when he witnessed this. He figures Connelly plays a huge role in the U's chances for success here in 09 and hopes to see him active and healthy.

dlip's picks for the week:

Ithaca 37, SLU 0
Utica 27, Becker 10
Alfred 52, Umass-D 10
Mt. Union 42, SJF 10
Morrisville 21, Wick 10
The Pride of Western Mass 45, Fitchburg State 27

*dlip feels Wick must prove first they can play without Phelan/Boltus (man crush)before he gives them an inch. With Wick's D even Morrisville could seem like an offensive juggernaut. Also no way The Pride lose this one. Springfield is dlip's sleeper and with Carter improving (getting stronger and learning the system) they will be dangerous. There only ? is the D. The Saxons win easily and Ithaca does not even have to wear pads for the fourth quarter. Going with Utica's new #'s in camp (150?) feeling like they are only going to continue to improve. As much as it hurts dlip feels like MUC is just going to role into pittsford and clobber SJF without much of a fight. He really hopes he is wrong here.

Dlip,  you're a teacher, right?
How do you get kids to shut the **** up until you finish a sentence?
I'll be talking, "So what I want you to do is..."
And they'll start shouting, "What are we supposed to do?  Tell us what we have to do."
Then I'll say something like, "Let me finish what I'm saying and you'll know what to do!"
"But what are we supposed to do?"
"Let me tell you and you'll know!"
"But we don't know how to do what you're about to tell us."

Are they doing this just to "F" with The Rev?

The Rev is dying to Keep It Real and say something like, "Y'all n****z need to shut the **** up, or I will bust a cap in your collective ass!"  (OK, so that's not so real.)

WTF?  Two weeks into the school year and The Rev is fantasizing about becoming a world famous mass-murderer of sixth graders.
