There is never an excuse in college sports to punch someone like that but......

The Boise kid ran by him said something, then hopped off and turned around when the Oregon kid went up to him.  If you are gonna talk smack, dont run by someone, say it and then dance away.

I can't say I blame anyone else for not jumping in and helping the Boise State kid.  Good restraint on the part of the Boise kids.  One punch or shove after a game can get you thrown off a team in some programs.

I say #8 is gone for 6 games or thrown off the team if this is a second offense.

To be clear, I don't think Blount said anything about the race card, which makes me doubt it happened because, as DLip points out, he knows his ass is in a sling and needs a way out.

I am also doubting the report because the kid from Boise has at least one African American teammate standing right there when it all goes down (although, if he did throw out a slur that might explain why none of his teammates came to his defense).

Maybe the reporter was saying the kid in the stands that Blount went after was the one that dropped the n-bomb.  After all, reporters generally hang in the end zone for the final two or three minutes of a D1 game to catch interviews on the way into the lockerroom.

Either way, Blount pushes a cop at the end of that.  If a kid in the stands pushed a cop, he'd be exchanging his orange Boise State T-Shirt for an orange Boise Correctional Department jumpsuit.  But, because Blount had on shoulder pads, he gets a suspension.

pbr says b.s. on the race card accusation...here is blounts post game new conf. apologizing for what he did and one has to believe if the race card was used he would be talking about what was said by the boise player non stop. whereas he just says he is sorry and wont lose his cool again...

If I am Blount I come into the postgame presser with:

"Dude.  I didn't know Hurrican Peter McNeely still had eligibility.  If he didn't have a glass jaw ya'll wouldn't even care."

U89 the more dlip gets into this and prepares for another draft on Monday he realizes how poorly his draft went. Dude dlip needs to make some moves and keep his eye open for a deal that could help Dr. Rosenpenis become an LLPPFFL contender. Right now, even though it kills dlip to admit it, realizes what Muff is saying regarding dlips performance on draft night. Had fun BSing but head was up my ass as far as the draft went. U89 are you hitting the Ithaca game?

+k viper for getting McNeely out of retirement.

Muff Diver was spot on.... 8) 8)

BTW: You East Coast cats are crazy.  TDT stayed up in the Central TZ until about 7 mins left in the 3rd QTR.  What time did all this mayhem happen at following the game?

I didn't catch much of the NCST vs Spurrier game.  How was Ms. Andrews looking?  Week from today the DVR is set.  Oprah!!!!

Ok REG so when you pancaked Enginegro in practice on the FB Trap did you help him up or offer him your Trash Talk du jour?

The face on num 94 face was classic as he was going down. looked like the claymation mr bill character

Best smack talk i heard was when the 260 lb running back from fisher was like "dude get out of the way of the pain train" and then proceeded to run over hilmar.

Runner up was, and im not really sure if it was words of encouragement or smack talk but when i kept cramping vs rowan one dude stood over me and said "yo numba 29 you better eat some bananas."

And dlp never spit on a guy but i did puke on a dude from wpi. It was not intentioanl but would have been a lot cooler if it was.

back at you DLip.

JQV has met a fight promoter in Tampa (Ali's former fight doctor) several times that always tells a story about how McNeely was talking to advertisers about selling ad space on the bottom of his shoes before that fight.  If that fight was this year, GoldenPalace.com would have been all over that spot.

At least Hurrican cashed in by selling his self-respect to Pizza Hut for this classic ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTwJHmhc9GA

And maybe noone jumped into help beccause maybe num 94 is just a douche.

Dan Patrick just had Boise's Head Coach on: "I don't know what our guy said but it takes two to tango.  Our situation will be addressed internally.  We talked about it at length after last night's game.  We are going to talk about it at length during our meeting Monday.  I am not sure if [94] is going to be suspended but either way, he definitely will be spending a lot of quality time with me after practice this week."

Not much of a smack talker in college, probably because we won games. Things were different in HS when we were usually down 3 scores and lil'gro would dish out the late hits and the chatter. Never punched anyone though...

Yeah, Gro was definately a quiet guy and he definately let his actions on the do the talking. (actually, this is probably better since you woudn't be able to understand him anyway)

Reg talked alot of ish.  Usually the "stay down or I'll knock you down again"(in college) or "Oh ish.....were you just trying to tackle me....your way back here, I was way up there"(in HS)

I really didn't face too many defensive people talking a lot of trash.  There was one kid from Univ. of Rochester back in 2000 that was about 5'2" 130 pound running back that ran his mouth non-stop.  Gro, you remember him?

Reg handled all trash talk for RPI for 4 years... doesn't matter if it was an opposing player or some poor kid on the scout team defense... he was getting a dose.

'gro

Reg... the smack talker from UR was their DB/WR/PR... he was supposed to be all world but didn't do much (he was good, but not out of this world good).  As the legend goes he ended up running into LD11 at some party in Beantown... LD can you back me up here?

AJ - gro remembers that big FB from Fisher... He was all talk except when he plowed DH. We handled him like a pop warner player.

TDT - this has been hashed out before, Reg and Gro never played scout team, therefore we never went head up in practice. If that ever happened the collision would be so huge it would rip a hole in the fabric of space. Coach king knew better than that.

Bananas are high in potassium.  Low potassium levels can cause cramping.
