Union is loaded with seniors.....this HAS to be a solid year for us.  In the skill positions, UC is relatively young.....on the lines and defensive secondary, we need to win this year.

dlip concurrs U89. It is that time for the U. This is a team that is heavy with seniors and has a lot of talent at the skill positions. dlip believes this is going to be a great game with some excellent break out plays on O by both teams. Grastorf (bomber QB) is making his home coming back to the Capital region and will clearly be pumped. Regardless dlip feels the U has been underrated by all this year and will make a statement here which will dictate the tone for the rest of the season. dlip hung at U's practice a bit yesterday and saw a very focused and pumped up U. All dlip kept hearing was, "I can't wait for Saturday." No question the U has a ton of respect for the Bombers and are very excited to prove themselves against such a top notch nationally ranked program. This is the beginning of the U's tough schedule in 09 and it is imperative U makes a statement here. Remember Union played (even though a scrimmage) a very good Yale team last week which has given them early season exposure and experience against serious talent.

dlip's prediction:

Union: 35
Ithaca: 30

dlip, no way Union makes 5 extra points.  And Im serious about that.

Probably true but let's just say dlip is being very hopeful here in 09. Can't stand to go through the special teams struggles of 08 so dlip is just trying to wish them away. Word on the street is the U may have a very athletic reciever taking the extra points.

I hope no one minds if The Rev lights the lamp a little early...Korea time.

Yesterday was payday.  Today is Friday.  It will take The Rev about two minutes to walk to his favorite watering hole.

Today is the anniversary of 9-11.  The Rev, in one of his few clerical moments here, asks all LLPP members to please pray for three sets of people:

1. Our enemies.  Jesus taught us to forgive our enemies...especially when we think we don't need to, or that they don't deserve it.  That's not our decision.  That's a direct order from the Great General in the Sky.  Forgiveness is an act of love, which is the only thing that can conquer hate.  I say again: Love is the only thing that can conquer hate.

2. Our servicemen who have been sent to play their part in the sequel: "Vietnam Part II, The Desert Years."  Especially remember my cousin Maj James Tully, who has only about one more month to go.  He has three kids and a wife who would like to see him again. (Not to mention the rest of us.)

3. Our friends who died on 9-11-2001, and their families.

Here's my NHS classmate Rob Peraza, who made the mistake of listening to the authorities who told him to stay put in the second tower.

TGP, how about a picture of Andrew Golikin, H'93?  He's also a FB player who died in Tower Two.

+K Rev.

JT remembers friends (two of which were NYFD and part of our Jets tailgating crew that were never found) and clients.

JT walks by the big void left downtown about twice a month.  He still gets chills and still gets angry.  And as much as he'd like to forgive, he can't find the strength. We will have to fight to stay safe and free.  Things will never change until they respect their women.

in LLPPFFL news the titans d gave pbr a solid start for this weekends matchup. very happy getting that many points out my def.....

Yeah... they shut down JT's Willie Parker on 3.23 points  >:( Shoulda drafted Ray Rice. However, Britt racked up over 9.5 on the bench and looked good.  He should get more reps, and may turn into a nice pickup for Plaxico's Pistolas.

RIP to all.... what a day.  Rev, my brother heard that same announcement but Rick Rescorla got on the bullhorn at Morgan Stanley and said to get out.  If he hadn't, more than only 3 Morgan Stanley employees would've perished.

I still can't believe its been 8 years.  We are planning a trip for 2011 to the WTC Site.

The Rev is three sheets to the wind right now.  11:30 pm, Korea time, 10:30 am, eastern time.  Rev hung out with some co-workers at a Japanese-Korean place called "Tudari" which is very mellow and has beer on tap for about $2.  Too much f-ing ABBA, but other than that a cool place.

Boss dropped in and paid the tab.  Brought a few of us over to the noraebang (korean word for Karaoke) and The Rev sang his heart out.  highlight of the evening was scoring three 100's in a row.  The Rev can't feel his toes...a sure sign of having a good time.

+K to LLPP for taking to The Rev's heart felt message earlier.  I wasn't tight with Rob Peraza, but I am friends with his younger brother and he was one of the only guys in his class (NHS, '89) that was a genuinely good guy.  The kind of guy that if I ran into him on the street 20 years after not seeing him, I would have hugged him and been glad to see after all that time.  The Rev knew and was friendly with Golkin, but wasn't truly friends.  Having said that, he was a stand-up guy and didn't deserve to die for no good reason.

The Rev hopes he can stay awake tomorrow for the live broadcast on-line of the Hobart-Dickinson game.  The Dicks are always a very hard team.  It seems as if they could give Hobart the shaft, but when the balls are on the line, Hobart seems to grab their sacks and pull it out, no matter how hairy the situation.

KS had one of those nights last Friday.  Company paid for drinks and dinner on the Roof at 230 5th.  KS was drinking Jack and Makers Mark all night.  KS was hammered, shouldn't have faced backwards on the light rail heading home.  KS ended up depositing his wings, calamari and fries when he got home.

I say +k to both of you. I don't post much here, but I do enjoy reading. While this is a sad topic, what both of you wrote was very moving to me. I was just outside of DC in Alexandria that day. My friends and family from all over the place were frantically IMing and emailing me to see if I was all right - because at that point, who knew? I remember hearing the first report about Flight 93 going down - all they said was it went down somewhere in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania's a big state, and my family was in only two small parts of it (my sister was in her second week of freshman year at Susquehanna and my parents were in Chambersburg), but immediately my heart was in my throat, thinking it was near them. Just that kind of day.

Much love and thoughts to all of you out there. We all took a hit that day, whether we lost loved ones or not. To those who did, though... even more love and respect to you.

Come on now let's settle down. Maybe U89 misread the criteria or whatever but overall his point is a good one. The U has gotton little or no love this preseason (maybe well deserved maybe not) for having so much talent on the O side of the ball and returning some key players on D (granted a poor D in 08). dlip thought the #74 ranking was extremely low for the U and agree that overall U has been underrated coming into their 09 campaign. Regardless of the possible lack of specific accuracy of U89's reference he makes a valid point here. Then of course tone of posts gets taken out of context and dudes start snipping at each other. Whatever the case tomorrow will tell us a hell of a lot about the East, about U, and about the Bombers who dlip feels are stacked. Key injury though on D for the Bombers, will it hurt them, who knows. Just so ****in happy it's football season!
