For the record, i've watched both Miami games this year, and they are going to be a team to look out for.  They are lightning fast, and very talented.  Jacory Harris, doesn't just have the best haircut in the nation, but he's pretty good at quarterback too.

Agree... he makes it look easy... and that throw against Florida State at the end (with his hand numb)... It was OVER 2 defenders to his receiver who barely got one foot down.  That throw is the best one I've seen in some time.

SF's buddy is a huge fan of The U... and the past few years we've been able to make fun of him, but if they beat Va Tech next Saturday --- they will be in the driver's seat in the ACC (and play Oklahoma the following week).

Mark Whipple is the new offenisve coordinator at Miami.  Plain and simple the guy is an amazing coach.  Wherever he goes things happen.  He actually had two stints at St. Lawrence and Union in the late 1970s early 1980s.

I know i'm late on this, but who saw the Patriots game the other night and those 2 horrible 'Roughing the Passer' calls?  Even though they somehow ended up winning, those 2 calls alone, should have disabled their chances of winning.  They led to 14 points the other way...

Now, with that said, how are the Patriots supposed to win this year, when they are not allowed to tackle the man with the ball?

Like um...like um...Maybe Ellis Lankster can explain it to us...

FYI - If you live in a garbage can and missed this interview, it's a MUST see...

The Wilfork one was total BS.  I can kind of see the second one (Thomas?) only because he kind of whipped him to the ground, but how many times do you see ball carriers break tackles because the defender doesn't bring him to the ground forcefull enough?  Its not like he used his body to slam into him on the turf, he just tackled him.

Uhhh, like ummm, Earth to Utah....Eli Manning...Super Bowl....In the grasp, ref doesn't blow the whistle, 4 holds going on simultaneously, they don't put him on the ground........David Tyree.....Remember?

Trent Edwards HAD THE BALL, was not on the ground, the whistle didn't blow, and it was NOT a dirty play, it was the only way to get him down.  Both calls were complete BS.  And I feel the Pats are gonna be fighting a lot of that this year.  Whatever, just a few more guys to beat.

And U89, yeah, it's some sort of speech impediment.  I guarantee that since he's a rookie, there were guys in the locker room who made him do the interview, because how in the he!! could the Bills PR people let that happen otherwise?

No I understand what your saying, but its not really the calls that were BS, the rules are BS.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2006-12-07-quarterback-rules_x.htm

That rule was interpreted poorly because at no time was that tackle dirty, or purposefully throwing him to the ground.  He actually even laid up at the end.  Did you see the Urlacher hit?  No flag.

I think the leg rule is real dumb.  What do you do if you are a d-lineman and fall down and the QB runs and jumps over you?  Punch him in the nuts?

PBR...

pbr's good friend is the def. coordinator of the j-e-t-s...jets jets jets....pats need to prepare for a beatdown especially brady. blitz-o-mania is about to hit...

Ok, i'll call Tom and tell him not to even bother showing up because the Jets are gonna blitz.

Are you serious?

guess u didnt sense the sarcasm in the statement...however the jets are improved and will bring the heat, and wont stop even if burned by moss. this rivalry will go up several notches more w/ ryan at the helm he is just like his old man. pbr's friend is of the same mind set pressure ....pressure and more pressure. keep pounding the qb.

JT

The Wilfork hit was clean.  Tackled him at the thighs.  JT has no idea why it got a flag.

I'm going to keep an eye on home field Susquehanna.  I have no idea how to handicap their game v. Lycoming.  The MAC teams always seem willing to beat the snot out of each other, but will Lyco bring that 'tude to an out of conference game?  If Susquehanna wins this Saturday, they could be a team to make some serious hay in the LL.

Yes. Lyco and Susquehanna always bring the 'tude for each other. Doesn't matter what their respective records are, it's a death match. This is Susquehanna's big rivalry game (which unfortunately will go on hiatus next year).

The SU coaches have been saying all week that Lyco's loss last week doesn't say anything. The players that ran all over us last year are still there. We have a few players injured on defense, which won't help. (Speaking of which, check out an interesting article about receiver Justin Young going old-school and playing on both sides of the ball: http://www.dailyitem.com/0200_sports/local_story_260000025.html).

This is the game we're all pointing to as the mile-marker.

thats how the Giants beat Brady in the Super Bowl.... BUT, the Jets better be careful... they don't have the same talent as the Giants did... Me thinks Brady is licking his chops knowing who he can chuck it up to against the blitz..

Yea I had heard that Whipple was kind of taking Rothlesberger under his wing and going against what the offensive coordinator wanted to do with Ben and the offense.  Or someting to that effect.

If I recall it wasn't really the blitz so much as it was the Giants defensive Ends and tackles dominant pass rushing ability.  I don't really remember if blitzing had anything to do with that however.

You're right... they had 4 DE's playing at the same time in passing situations.  and then could cover with the other 6 or 7.  In any case, I don't think the Jets have quite the same personnel

Big difference the Giants did not blitz that much, they get that kind of pressure with a four man rush most of the time.
