One of these things is not like the other,
One of these things doesn't belong.
One of these things is not like the other,
Can you help me sing this song?

The Rev is burning the midnight oil here in Korea making a PowerPoint Presentation to give to the Korean Coast Guard in a couple weeks.  Too bad in the U.S. it is Sunday morning right now.  No LLPP chatter to break up the monotony of cutting and pasting and making Org Charts.  Zzzzzz.

Wake up!  Someone wake up and keep The Rev company!

Hey Rev.....are you in agreement with labart in wishing now that the Statesmen had scheduled Alfred in their common open date of Oct. 17?

It's over in Selinsgrove 20-10 Susquehanna becomes the first LL team not named Union or RPI to knock off Hobart in a LL game. Hobart is 1-2 like 2007 but unfortunately has only 6 games on the schedule (why we didn't take Alfred's offer on their open date) which means their streak of 5 consecutive NCAA appearances is likely done.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Can't help feeling that the Aruck/Hager/Sanders graduations are really behind the Hobart losses.   I know the QB play has been inconsistent but as the Stim said at the beginning their O even from last year wasn't really scary.   They won alot of games last year with the D shutting people down or keeping it close and the O doing enough to win.

They can still run the table and they will continue to be a force all season... , but allowing a team to rush for 200 yards on 50 carries is a different proposition than last year.  325 tackles in the interior of your defense is a bunch to replace

A couple of guys over on the E8 board are promoting the idea that Alfred is the unquestioned class of the conference.  I remain unconvinced.  Alfred hasn't played especially strong competition yet (although I admit I tend to consider Ws worth ten times the value of stats like Opponents' Winning Percentage and Opponents' Opponents' Winning Percentage).

I'm still trying to figure out Ithaca.  They lost to Union, who lost to Muhlenberg, who is now 1-2, the same record as Hobart.   Okay, so they beat Wide Ner, but how tough can it be to beat a team with players who wear their helmets backwards?   On the other hand, Utica, coming off a disappointing loss at RPI gave the Bombers everything they could handle.  Don't know how to figure out Ithaca.  For that matter, Utica's absolute vallue is proving hard to calculate as well.

Cortland St. had never lost to Kean before, and they lost pretty convincingly to Kean yesterday.  Cortland St. was ranked 7th nationally, one notch higher than Ithaca's preseason ranking.

Hartwick is 4-0 against teams with a combined record of 3-9 in games not involving Hartwick.

Hobart at 1-2 (0-1 LL) has 5 of its 6 remaining games scheduled v. teams with a .500 or better overall record.

Your thoughts?

The Rev still wishes that Hobart had taken advantage of the open date to play Alfred.  It's a good, historic rivalry that should be an annual match-up.  The added bonus is another game to potentially bring that win percentage up.

Your thoughts?

The Rev hates to write a team off this early in the season, but The Rev is also realistic looking at an undefeated RPI, a very good Susquehanna, and good Union, STL, and WPI.  The Rev thinks STL and WPI will fade and end up below Hobart.  Also predict that RPI will take LL title/Pool A and Susquehanna and Union will duke it out for Pool C in the last game of the season.

Hobart will have to settle for an ECAC berth for 2009 and the 2010 Statesmen will come out aching to prove themselves.

I'd feel better about RPI if they didn't give up so many points to WPI yesterday (on the plus side, the offense had their best performance so far).  RPI's remaining schedule features 3 home contests vs classic trap games: UofR, SLU, MMA and 3 tough away games vs Susq, Union, and Hobart.  Union and Hobart games are back to back.

Going undefeated is going to be very hard. Next up is Rochacha, who took SJF and Union to the brink.

RPI is a very tough read gro right now. Part of dlip wants to give them the #1 spot in the ER poll but just can't do it...YET (and no it is not because dlip detests that Troy Institute :D). Dlip will tell you one thing if the Engineers run the table there will be no question in dlips mind as to their prowess. Boy is parity hitting the ****ing LL or what? Looking forward to listening and BSing on Frank and RT's LL show tonight. It will be interesting to hear their take. Right now dlip has to put RPI as the LL favorite and Union right on their heals. Of course Bart will still be VERY  tough + ****in Susquehanna is proving to be a test, and U of R is tough as well.

LL word of the day: ****! O.k for real it is:
