I'd feel better about RPI if they didn't give up so many points to WPI yesterday (on the plus side, the offense had their best performance so far).  RPI's remaining schedule features 3 home contests vs classic trap games: UofR, SLU, MMA and 3 tough away games vs Susq, Union, and Hobart.  Union and Hobart games are back to back.

Going undefeated is going to be very hard. Next up is Rochacha, who took SJF and Union to the brink.

RPI is a very tough read gro right now. Part of dlip wants to give them the #1 spot in the ER poll but just can't do it...YET (and no it is not because dlip detests that Troy Institute :D). Dlip will tell you one thing if the Engineers run the table there will be no question in dlips mind as to their prowess. Boy is parity hitting the ****ing LL or what? Looking forward to listening and BSing on Frank and RT's LL show tonight. It will be interesting to hear their take. Right now dlip has to put RPI as the LL favorite and Union right on their heals. Of course Bart will still be VERY  tough + ****in Susquehanna is proving to be a test, and U of R is tough as well.

LL word of the day: ****! O.k for real it is:

PARITY

You ain't the only ones.... the E8 is practically being turned on its head.

PS- congrats to the LL for making it to that old 60's song.... "On the paaagggee twenty-five twenty-five...." fill in the rest!

Gotta love 40 year old pop culture references.

E8 is a mystery fo shuh, with plenty on the E8 board proclaiming Alfred as the clear front runner.  Clear as mud, from where I sit.

RPI giving up big points to WPI is a concern, especially since we don't have the day trip excuse (I'm glad for that).  Now I want to know how RPI could clamp down on Utica's 60+ points/game offense (vs. .200 OWP), but not so much on WPI's 37 points/game offense (v. .222 OWP).

To add luster to that plus side, WPI had pitched two consecutive shutouts (v. .000 OWP, but you take your luster where you can get it  :-[ ).

Pep agrees....Alfred has done well clearing the low hurdles to date, but the high hurdles are awaiting the Saxons...trips to Growney and Butterfield. Home contests are no guarantees with pass-happy Hartwick, Rochester and Utica. Clearly, should Alfred want to make it to the dance, there's still plenty of work to do.

As Kaz00 has said, we still remember 2007 when the Saxons' perfect 7-0 slate ended with two losses in their season-ending gauntlet....and the Saxons were a bridesmaid once again.

Good news, bad news (you can decide which is which! ;)):

a) The long era of Lions jokes has finally ended.

b) Tons of material can now be recycled as 'skins jokes.

H1N1 "outbreak" (two or three students) at The Rev's school, so the rest of the week is canceled.  YEESSSS!!!

In honor of the Divine Mercy of Jesus for cutting The Rev some serious slack, The Rev is distributing +K to all members of LLPP and to esteemed visitors.
Boo-ya-ka!!!

EDIT: -K to TDT and RS81 as required by LLPP custom.

More like Chiefs jokes. I read that KC is 2-26 in their last 28, and the Lions are 3-25?

Not quite, but 'we' and the Chiefs are neck-and-neck.  Can't recall for sure, but I think the Lions are also 2-26 (maybe 2-27).

The Chiefs might be the fairer recipient of recycled Lions jokes, but THEY didn't break the Lions' streak! :D

The Lions genuinely ARE improved (still bad, but improved); now that the 'monkey' is gone, I think they'll win 4-5 games this season.

This H1N1 thing has gotten completely out of hand.  In RedSwarm81's day, college kids were expected to drink, and drink we did--heavily, in Troy NY, where the bars are open until 4 a.m.  At some point, we'd stagger into the long-since-disappeared Jack in the Box restaurant, and get 3 or 4 of their really bad--just plain awful--tacos, for a buck.  We'd wash those down with the rank hot sauce they served in little paper cups.

Upon regaining consciousness, we'd be suffering from headache, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting--exactly the symptoms of H1N1.

If only we'd known to report to the infirmary in groups of 3 - 12, so we could get the campus shut down and final exams canceled.

I'd wager that the self-inflicted H1N1-like symptoms immunized all of us against the wimpy influenza known as H1N1.

Might as well throw the Bills in there too...

Vs. teams that are above .500 at the end of the season (its a good bet that NE and NO will be) they're 2-24 under Dick Jauron...

Nothing screams mediocrity like beating all the bad teams and losing to all the good teams...

PBR...

will pbr be able to hold off hood rats in the llppffl? looks like the frosty dippers might take one on the chin this week...

Would not be surprised if the Bengals aren't far from that... sure seems that way after going to all these games over the years.  Did you know they have only had 3 non-losing seasons since 1991.  That includes twice going 8-8 (the other was 11-5 in 2005).
