Good news, bad news (you can decide which is which! ;)):

a) The long era of Lions jokes has finally ended.

b) Tons of material can now be recycled as 'skins jokes.

More like Chiefs jokes. I read that KC is 2-26 in their last 28, and the Lions are 3-25?

Would not be surprised if the Bengals aren't far from that... sure seems that way after going to all these games over the years.  Did you know they have only had 3 non-losing seasons since 1991.  That includes twice going 8-8 (the other was 11-5 in 2005).

watched the end of the bengals game yesterday...a great finish good to see palmer back and going strong again. bengals might surprise people this year.

SF was there... it was good to see them not only beat the Steelers (hate, hate, hate them) but to come from behind and not blow a game...  They could very easily be 6-1 now before they start playing some good teams then.

Can't help feeling that the Aruck/Hager/Sanders graduations are really behind the Hobart losses.   I know the QB play has been inconsistent but as the Stim said at the beginning their O even from last year wasn't really scary.   They won alot of games last year with the D shutting people down or keeping it close and the O doing enough to win.

They can still run the table and they will continue to be a force all season... , but allowing a team to rush for 200 yards on 50 carries is a different proposition than last year.  325 tackles in the interior of your defense is a bunch to replace

As someone who's followed the team and the first three games as closely as possible (and went to four games last year), it's not.  They were great players and big losses, but the issue is the O.  The D has been on the field for over 100 minutes in the first three games.  Dickinson didn't do that much in the first half notwithstanding the fact that they dropped 52 pts the week before.  As the 3rd Q wore on they wore down (depth may be an issue) and Dickinson racked up the stats and pts.  CMU, they had the ball frequently on Bart's side of the 50 in the third Q and were held to their lowest scoring of the season.  SU, INT's and fast drives put the D on the field a lot, but Paveletz didn't blow it up (in fact, Marlier had the same yds/carry avg and Paveletz, just 1/3 the carries-and Bart outgained SU).  Arduini and Faracca we de facto co-starters the last two years next to Aruck and the DE's and OLB's returned meaning that 6 of the 8 in the box, plus O-Laughlin (29 tackles in 3 games) who started in place of Sanders in 07 as a FR.  TOP is an issue for the D, but it's on the O.  I made comments about this last year, but I really don't think DeWall's got it right on O.  He took over with Strom (maybe the best QB Hobart has had, he came from a top notch JUCO in CA), LiDrazzah and Wright, but Gilardi and Hobaica at RB, so it was imperative to run shotgun and throw a lot.  At this point Vincent, Muratori (who I think will be 1st team all LL by the end of next year as a JR), and Vella aren't close to those three.  I really think they need to go back to controlling the ball and clock, longer possessions and not relying so much on a 1st year starter at QB and one of the top 2 WR's when you've got an experienced RB who's not a (tough) midget (and had 11td's the last two years in a split time/backup role).  The team in general also has made it hard on themselves.  - something on turnovers, opponents have 3 penalites in three games and we had 8 in SU alone (something in the mid double digits in total.  Penalites fed Su's two TD's, numerous shanked punts.  This team has been the least disciplined, least opportunistic team of the decade, so far.  In fact, they clean up the little, semi-intangible things and control the clock a little more and this team is 2-1 and could very well be 3-0 (dont' let the score fool you, the Dickinson game was winnable until sometime late in the 3rd).  Very frustrating so far.  I hope they can get it together, blow up RPI and Union's season(s) and make an ECAC and build for next year (best case scenario at this point).

Bitch Slap?  You win by less than 1 point and you come in here talking smack and calling it a 'bitch slap'?  I guess sometimes you gotta take what you get when your team is that beat.

True - TGP agrees that given the parity in the LL we'll see some more "surprises" as the season unfolds.  Still it will be extremely difficult for a 7-2 team to make the Pool A unless a lot of crazy ish unfolds.

SU, INT's and fast drives put the D on the field a lot, but Paveletz didn't blow it up

Agree on all these points.  Covered much of the same last night with Ted Baker on "In the HuddLLe" (available for download if you missed the live broadcast).

That said TGP thinks 'Bart will rebound this weekend against SLU.

Well said pa, some very good points here. dlip thinks that Bart is going to be O.K. and concurrs with TGP that they will bounce back on Saturday. It seems as if they are close but just have not come full circle together yet as a team, especially the O. There is a lot of talent there and dlip is sure it is going to find its way through.

how stupid can some people be? mutiny at texas tech?

Lubbock, Texas (AP) -- Texas Tech players have been banned
from having Twitter pages.
Coach Mike Leach announced the move Monday after one of his
linebackers noted the coach's tardiness to a Sunday meeting, a
day after the Red Raiders lost 29-28 to No. 12 Houston.
According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, linebacker
Marlon Williams asked on his Twitter account why he was still
in a meeting room when "the head coach can't even be on time."
That tweet has been deleted.
Offensive lineman Brandon Carter also had a Twitter page.
After the loss to the Cougars, he tweeted: "This is not how I
saw our season."
On Sunday, Carter was suspended indefinitely for violating
team rules and his Twitter page was nowhere to be found.
The Red Raiders (2-2) host New Mexico (0-4) on Saturday.

Fellas c'mon...

Take a deeper look at the matchup.  KS has no one remaining to play this week.  Tonight TDT has the ridiculously good Steve Smith for Carolina and RB tag teamer Jonathan Stewart.  Beatdown has commenced...

Leach should have skipped town when he had a chance.  He'll never win consistently at Tech and he had a shot at a big time job.
