Leach should have skipped town when he had a chance.  He'll never win consistently at Tech and he had a shot at a big time job.

Agree 110%... he is a pretty good coach for never having played the game at the collegiate level.

Gro doesn't remember the openings from last season. Where could he have ended up, Auburn? (I'd stay at Tech)

If anyone is bored, google USA Today football coaches or something like that and you can read their contracts... Cars, country club memberships, TV show revenue, buyouts clauses.... oh to be a big time college coach.

Gro needs to find a way to get a 5 year contract with the current employer, then "part ways" with 3 years remaining.

Fellas c'mon...

Take a deeper look at the matchup.  KS has no one remaining to play this week.  Tonight TDT has the ridiculously good Steve Smith for Carolina and RB tag teamer Jonathan Stewart.  Beatdown has commenced...

TDT has a good point.

Distraught pumpkinheads??? Sh** `Gro, that`s a phreakin understatement...but thanks for the encouraging words.Watched the SU game on stream from SU.What a letdown.Damn, man, wtf is goin` on?Just can`t believe the start they`re having.D really needs to step it up-ALOT-and O needs to get their sh** together!Stupid penalties and botched plays... where`s the gd running backs?Marlier needs to be in-period.Not sure what`s up with that but Tritten and Julian haven`t proven they belong on the field at all.How about our other backs? Time to give the ball to someone else. Not bustin` Vella`s balls, but you gotta hit the open receiver. He got no love from his WR`s-lotta dropped balls and TE position may as well be a fuc**** lineman.Catch the damn ball! What happened to play action or sweeps? How `bout a FB in the flats? Defense isn`t much better.I saw alot of MISSED tackles and you sure as sh** aren`t going to win when ya` give up big plays and shoot yourself in the foot with personal fouls after making plays. I just don`t know...think I`ll have a beer or six and ponder some more. C`mon `Bart!!!
Geez Ward, don`t you think you were a little rough on the Beaver last night?

Gro predicts frank the tank is going to be busy with tie breaker scenarios for both the LL and E6

E6's tiebreaker is easy.  Russian Roulette for the mascot of each team since we now have as many teams as there are chambers in a six-shooter pistol...

Agree on all these points.  Covered much of the same last night with Ted Baker on "In the HuddLLe" (available for download if you missed the live broadcast).

That said TGP thinks 'Bart will rebound this weekend against SLU.

I've been listening to those broadcasts a few days after the fact so far this year.  If there's anything missing from that interior, it's probably sanders and hager's skill and agility in pass defense.  Sanders was very intuitive and Hager was an above avg DI laccrosse defenseman, which takes really good footwork.  Reg Robinson and OLaughlin are actually slightly bigger than Hager and Sanders, but it sounds like they're out of position on short and intermediate stuff where the opposing O is having success (slants and such).  I do think the offense has the potential to be better than last year, with the right playcalling, Schettine stepping up (I think Lazore's at his ceiling), Muratori continuing to develop and Degan improving (or Marsh).  Duliba was a talented dude at TE (him and Schulz being the biggest difference from last year's O - those two bailed out Doyle on a lot of bad throws, including a lot of one handed catches).  Vella's talented and Earl would be playing if he was better, I have no doubt about that.  Plus you've got Rose in the background.

BTW, Dr. Lew, I had the highest pt total in my league even though I started Ray Rice over Moreno (they said he was questionable).  I really got hooked up with Baltimore's D and Gostkoswki gave me like 15 pts each.  Have Witten going tonight, but Colston, A Johnson and Peterson didn't give me a ton.

Just saw a commercial on Monday Night Football for Miller Lite Aluminum Pints!!!

Can't wait for the light to be lit on Friday.

By the way, I watched a lot of that RPI/Utica game on Saturday and just had a few comments.

-They looked a little sloppy on offense in the first half, but got their ish together in the second half.
-Once the season gets going, it looks like they have the players to be very dangerous.
-Seems like once that QB gets comfortable running the ball when he needs to run it, the offense will be even more dangerous.
-The oline looks big but lanky, kind of like Ithacas.  It might take a few games for them to get comfortable, especially the new guys on the line.

We spoke of start times and travel/cost savings on this board last week.

This Saturday brings up an interesting scheduling quirk for Union.  The Dutchmen will be hosting the 'Bizarroneers' at Frank Bailey at 6:00pm.  Outside of JV games, U89 can never remember the Dutchmen playing under the lights at home.  Union has 5 home dates in '09 and this is the only contest which doesn't start at noon or 2pm.

Not a big deal, but this very odd start time at Bailey Field has U89 wondering about the reasoning.
