mini rant...

Comcast cable has done a great job in the past year adding HD channels. Went from 15 to 30 to over 60 now at no additional cost. They also brought back the NFL network... but only in standard def. NFL HD costs extra. what's up with that? I demand to see Rich Eisen in HD!

Pat Coleman

Nice big HDTV in my new house and love the look of the NFL in HD.

Hate the look of Bob Costas in HD. Yikes! And I did not look at the screen when Andrea Kremer was on. I learned that much from my year at NBC and those screens were a lot smaller. :)

Darn! I was hoping someone could explain what that jacket was she was wearing last night. My guess was something from Michael Jackson's blue period.

Let's all be glad Don Zimmer got out of the dugout before HD really took over....

I'm with you on that one doid.

She is now know as Chris Jansing and she is on MSNBC

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3080424/

Kapostasy (thanks wikipedia) is also a D3 graduate - Otterbein in 1978... she's 52 years old! she looks the same as she did when gro was a kid.

Thanks Gro, she's still bringing it at 52.

I remember the Elf and I seeing her as we were at one of the depressing local malls trying to spend his $50 Christmas gift certificate to Chess King (he must have been running low on skinny red leather ties, or maybe the new Cavariche and Capizzio line was out), and stalking her for quite some time.

Now that I know her new name, I will recommence the stalking.

The Elf had the market cornered on jeans with snaps and buttons around the the knee area or anywhere in which they were truly not functional.

Well, you were no slouch yourself U89.

However, nothing will ever top Len Hut's travelling outfit to the playoff game at Hofstra in '83: Leather pants, MATCHING leather jacket, thin red tie, with the obligatory Capezio's. Hell, the coaches didn't even know what to say (even Dino), and they had their fare share of fashion nightmares on road trips. Luckily, we were rolling into Long Island, so most of them thought that was normal, but if he had gone to Middlebury or Williams with that outfit on, campus security probably would have detained him for questioning (pimp? drug dealer?).

man pbr is no fan of bobby bowden by any stretch...but pbr is feeling a tinge of sadness for him. sounds like its ovaaahhhh down there, the sharks are circling. when chairman comes out publically and says it isnt working and they are negotiating a 5 yr. contract w/ the next head coach, the white flag is waving....pbr's friend lives down there and says the boosters are near revolt they want bowden out and students are planning a black out to protest bowden for thursday nights game on espn...running rampant on facebook...now bowdens wife is screaming in the press about betrayal...rumored fighting between coaches loyal to bowden and those loyal to jimbo fischer....it is flat out ugly down there. looks like joe pa's record is safe (forget those samford wins anyway)

Amen brotha, although I miss the gerbil in the Yankee's dugout.

OK, Zim, dead or alive? Abe Vigoda, dead or alive?

How about his grand daughters 'modeling' picture?  Or was that taken for anatomy lectures?

Doid,
You missed Pyle's outfit at the '83 teams induction into the Union HOF.  It certainly mirrored Hutner's  outfit.....plus he actually cried real tears on stage.....for a TEAM induction!!

Did you see Cox is going to be honored in a couple weeks.

I remember your email on it, just pulled it up and laughed outloud (just forwarded them to you again).

But here's the thing. That's the last I'm commenting on this, because I'm a grown man yet freely admit that I am still terrified of Pyle. If Pyle ever reads this, I luv ya, but you're on your own. When he pulled that gun out from under his seat at a bar in New Haven, I swore I would never cross his path. And I considered him a friend. Hell, I'm about to pee my pants right now...

gro...if possible to go to do what pbr did and kick comcastic to the curb and go FIOS baby...verizon gives them a beat down in every category....HD picture isnt even close verizon crushes it. customer service much better w/ verizon and internet speeds are light years apart...pbr still laughs when over at friends house and everyone on the street is on the internet w/ comcast its like watching dial up all over again...plus FIOS channel lineup is sooooo much better...its time to come to the dark side and seek FIOS if/when available

You must have a different Verizon than I have.

[Granted, I don't have Comcast--my local CATV monopoly is Cox Communications--but Verizon screwed up my bill for 11 straight months after I accepted their $89/month offer that came in the mail.  Week after week, I was on the (Verizon) phone with Verizon reps who assured me that they never sent me that $89/month brochure--I had to fax it to them (over the Verizon phone lines) to convince them.]

your the first person pbr has heard doesnt like verizon...literally 100s of people in pbr knows have made the switch and never looked back. hence why comcasts cable contracts are tanking. they had a big article on it in philly newspaper a month or two ago about how comcast is losing cable customers to verizon in herds...
