dlippiel

Well said Mr. Rossi. dlip feels Bart comes into this game very desperate and hungry. Very rarely has dlip seen a team playing a game this early in a season that can have such huge impact either way. To simplify, Union wins Bart is done, Union creates wiggle room and like Frank said, the opportunity for error (ex. losing to RPI). Bart wins all their early season disappointment vanishes and they are tied for the league lead with U at 2-1 and still have a very legitimate shot at the LL title. U loses they relinquish the ****in LL lead and find themselves in a complete ****in dog fight for the remainder of 09. Bart has a very rare opportunity on Saturday, an opportunity that dlip is hoping will not be cashed in by the Pumkins. dlip believes in his U and feels that if they bring it on Saturday and play very hungry football, they should come out on top. At this point in the season dlip is looking for the Dutch to "tighten" up in all facets of the game. Any sloppy play will not be forgiven as it was last week. dlip probably just repeated what the Counsler just said but ****, gotta talk Union football right now, the work week is officially ****in ova!

LD11 is ready to start some boozing.  The vacation plane leaves at 6am, lands in Sand Diego at 10amPST.  A couple days there, a couple days in LA LA land, then the last 4 in Vegas.

LD11 may be a full fledged alcoholic in 9 days...again

re:  Booze Cruise to Whales V*gina

LD faces a choice.. bring his own "pre-bought" minibottles of liquor or be subject to the ridiculous prices /decision of being "cutoff" by flight staff

How does the LLPP Travel?  SF brings a couple of his own minibottles just in case some stewardess cuts him off --

With the restriction on carry on liquids, how do you get them past security?

Passengers are allowed to carry on certain liquids that are bought within a "safe area"... behind the security check in... like duty free shops... if you don't get from there... you can try to sneak them in.... if you get caught, you throw them away or drink them... no big loss.

Are you buying at Duty Free Shops from within the US?

JT used to BYOB quite often on long flights... now is unsure how to do it.  Flying to Barcelona in Nov and it would be nice to take 1/2 doz on so JT can sleep.

Yessir... sometimes the clerk puts them in plastic bags meaning they can't be drank, but it depends on how "cool" the clerk is.  SF has heard of people bringing their own wine onto flights... and "if the flight crew serves you", its supposed to be ok.   They also said some rules have been relaxed as far as the liquid ban on flights, but that some foreign countries have not followed suit.  I'd check ahead with where you are going to see what they allow when coming back but pretty sure the US is allowing even some soaps and perfumes to be purchased in the Duty Free shops but they do put those in the plastic bags.  Not sure what a plastic bag would do to stop a "Richard Reid" type of guy from getting to the goods... but whatever.

The time SF is referring to (last year with the buddys), the day started out at "Cheers" in the Cincy Airport with some beers, then switched over to little bottles of Crown on the flight and SF wasn't feeling well by the time the flight landed at LAX.

SF remember this:
Liquor then beer nothing to fear.
Beer then liquor nothing will get you sicker.

Military men know this better than most.  Think about how most college students party every w/e, then realize military personnel can wait a month or more to party.

KS once did 94 days between beers.  Of course the torpedomen usually had something good hiding in the old no longer used mk37 torpedo exploder lockers, but not beer.

Man, Buck Martinez has to be the worst color guy in all of baseball.  I forget how attrocious he is, but I instantly remember each playoff season.

Me and Mrs JT were doing a Segway tour in the Bahamas ( a year ago... two ?) , it ended right at a cricket field.  There was a small store right there... JT proceeded to get blasted watching cricket with just off the clock construction workers... good times.  Bought a few rounds... received a few rounds. Turns out JT is just as funny outside the LLPP and outside the United States.

Mr. Ypsi

Especially if the audience is totally fried? :D

[Sorry, but if you lay one in the middle of the strike zone! :-[]

When in Rome my good man.  JT had already replenished lost Segway fluids with Gatorade.  These guys were a pisser, so JT wanted to hang.  MJT knew that JT was in his element and we were hours away from the boat leaving, so JT soaked it in.

A little magic is back in the Bronx (although excruciatingly bitter to see old hated customers in my seats 2 rows behind Yankee's dugout, while I sat in my living room in Texas screaming with my son). Of course, the Twin's (and umps) did all they could to keep Yankees in game, but at least we got something for our $600 zillion offseason spending.

Union       27
Pumpkins 14
Too much on the line for the Pumpkins to go quietly.

And please don't let David Carr start for the Gmen on Sunday, I simply can not watch a game with David Carr and JeMarcus Russel as QB's. The worst part about that would be that somewhere, Ryan Leaf and Akili Smith are thinking they there may be hope for a comeback.

The Rev's dire prediction is not so much about score as about attitude.

Error #1: Bart will play not-to-lose as opposed to play-to-win.
Error #2: Bart will have the lead near the end of the game and start playing "Prevent Defense".  As The Rev and Rev's Dad always say, "Prevent defense prevents you from winning."  Thus, Union will score with too little time for Bart to answer.

At least this is what happened every time The Rev went back to Geneva or Schenectady or Troy in the last five years.  The Rev is hoping that the Statesmen learn a new trick and use it this weekend.

Too negative?

At least it's not Musberger.

The radio teams (when you can find the radio broadcasts) are much better this year than the TV teams (when you can find the TV broadcast--TBS??!?? Sheesh).

Always-solid Jon Miller was doing tonight's Yankee game on the radio, he even credited a quote to his SF Giants color guy, Mike Krukow--a class act.

Yesterday, I caught the end of the Phillies-Rockies game on the radio, with Greg Gumbel playing first microphone.  He'd be useless as an announcer for someone who didn't know baseball well, and I'm not sure I could take him over a full season, but he was colorful.
